The skill in this song is getting the rhythm right which is chunk dah dah dah - my 6 year old so can do the strum on display here on his little Yamaha. After that a change in singing note would would be good.
If I remember right, Justin did this as a challenge: a song a day for a year... Learning fresh lyrics, chord progressions and strumming patterns every day is a quite a feat in itself, but to have the end result at a consistently high quality makes it outstanding.
Hey, that power chord progression was good enough for Boston with Peace Of Mind, and Taproot with Poem, and Eagle Eye Cherry with Save The Night, and a ton of other songs. I call it a win.
