The only one I disagree with is AC Origins being above AC2, although I will admit to putting hundreds of hours into AC Origins, AC2 is a masterpiece and one of the few AC games that people other than AC fans play a lot. In my opinion AC Origins belongs with AC Valhalla and Odyssey, those games are barely even Assassins Creed at this point.
@@TortoiseRonin Yes but you have to look at things beyond just story and characters. Ezio is great but quite frankly, most side characters were really boring to me, but they are still somewhat memorable and I do remember some such as Machiavelli, Leonardo (who is the best side character in AC) or even La Volpe. AC2 doesn't age well in the other aspects if you ask me, but it is still a good time and I can see why it was placed so low.
For me Brotherhood was the peak. I loved recruiting assassins and doing mission where I employed them strategically to take out guards. That is the coolest I felt in the entire series.
The ending for Black Flag is unforgettable. I know most people's favorite protagonist is Ezio but for me Edward Kenway was just phenomenal. I dont know how they did it
AC II came out when I was studying Renaissance art history in high school. Visiting the real Florence, places around Tuscany, Roma, etc. at that time was one of the most magical moments for me, hugely thanks to the AC II setting. I'll never forget that.
Similar for me. I remember being amazed at the history in the game, especially the architecture. It definitely had that magical feeling for me that you get when you’re a kid and a game just completely and totally engrosses you. Oblivion holds similar memories.
I was in middle school learning about the renaissance. In fact, most of the AC games I played (I’ve played them all expect for AC rogue and liberation) coincided with something in my school curriculum at that time. Didn’t plan it at all, but my school field trip to NY/DC happened after I finished AC3. Totally made me appreciate and fall in love with history
I went to Florence a few years back for the first time and thought many of the buildings looked familiar. Same with Venice and Rome. It was like I had been there before. I had forgotten all about AC2. When I replayed the game a while after that, it all came flooding back. It’s so awesome to see the areas that the game is based on. It makes it even more special. Still haven’t found any of the hidden tombs, though.
gameplay wise, yes story wise, AC II and AC Revelations should be here unity is most fun game I've seen in whole franchise but ehhh story wasn't that good, it was pretty mediocre and only good part of story is medieval intro
weirdly i loved odyssey. i have a massive love for greek mythology which probably made me like it more but i just found the game so beautiful and the exploration system was fun. only downfall to me was a lot of missions were extremely repetitive.

As an outsider to AC Odyssey is the only AC in all the years of it being a powerhouse that got me into AC. I can completely understand how jarring Odyssey would’ve been to AC fans with how different it is from the others especially those before it and Origins. For me though you have to give it credit for giving me more motivation to actually check out AC after all these years. Odyssey is perfect for me as I LOVE Ancient Roman and Greek history. So for me Odyssey is perfect. Can definitely see why fans of AC wouldn’t feel like it belongs.

I went to Italy in 2018 and visited Florence, Venice and Rome. That trip cemented AC2 as my all time fave, the attention to detail to the locations and history left me in awe
When you said “ac3 has a special place in my heart” I felt that spiritually. I played it so much in middle school and never been more addicted to a video game in my life. Fell in love with it. This is coming from a huge gamer that is about to turn 20 and played video games all his life
OG AC games for the story, AC Unity for being an actual assassin, AC Origins and Black Flag were absolutely phenomenal. AC Odyssey/Vallhala are an absolute joy to play even tho its not assasins creed.
I've played almost every AC games and so far i could say that i enjoyed all of them, none of the game i would considered to be "bad", some of them are just mediocre (Syndicate and Rogue are mediocre)
i found odyssey very fun but I found Valhalla dogshit asf, even when I already separated it from AC franchise from the start I still found it so damn boring and awful

The landscape? The story? It just didn't captive me at all. It could be just me growing apart from video games too
@@theotht i had the same issue. i thought video games were boring because i had the same experience with valhalla, but i played the ezio triology last week and my god i was captivated even though i had played them like 5 times through already. setting can carry games and sorry brits, but england is quite literally the most dreary looking country in the world. valhalla was just playing through quests you had no attachment to and the main characters personality was as flavorful as my sweaty ballsack. valhalla doesnt even deserve to be a game in its own right even if it wasnt part of assassins creed. its just boring
When I played ac3 I didn't realize there was a fast travel option so I ended up running everywhere and I think it's why I ended up enjoying the game so much. The snowy forests just can't be beat.
I played black flag in the perfect time in my life. Old enough to know how games should be played and how stories should be told but young enough to truly hang on disbelief. A bit like when we all watched Harry Potter for the first time.
I agree completely. When I played it for the first time back in high school my favorite thing was just collecting treasure. It remains the ONLY game that I enjoyed getting collectibles in. Honestly, the story itself felt more secondary. I just had a blast sailing the ocean, stopping at every single island, and walking through jungles. Of course the story was great, too. The song "The Parting Glass" at the end was a really, really nice touch.
AC3 will always hold a special place in my heart because I was actually learning about the American Revolution in school at the time, and it unironically helped me memorize important moments in the war.

For me the whole Ezio Trilogy is and will probably be the best ac games. The music, the story and the gameplay, all of it I liked so much. I wish that Ubisoft brings a character back that they truly develop for more than just one game so that people can grew with them.
I was thinking exactly the same, I would probably rank ACII as 1st and Revelations as 2nd. I I left Brotherhood as 3rd mostly because it is too similar to ACII (I call it the 2.1 :D ). But they are a perfect trilogy, even though I'd say Unity and Syndicate perfected the gameplay.
I really like how you've clearly explained the reasons why you yourself ranked these games the way you did. You also gain credibility by explaining at the beginning that you weren't ranking the genre-busting offshoots, as well as by letting us viewers know your preferences up front. My choices didn't always line up with yours, but I have nothing but respect for that.

More or less I agreed with your list, especially because of the explanations like with highlights of AC3(I was also in high school when it dropped) and everything about it was fascinating to me, Connor’s complex choices, the determination etc

AC1 was incredible in its own right, it set the tone for things to come and founded an arguably legendary franchise. That being said, I played it again recently and found it aged in some ways, and not all of it good. It was repetitive and some story elements were ham-fisted.
I fully agree, bayek had moments where he's fuming with rage and anger to get revenge and then moments where he laughs and giggles smiles. And to top it off has some heart-wrenching cutscences where you really feel the pain he goes through.
@@beaniest9210 His deep personality, which was explored well..his sense of justice as a Medjay and his quest for vengeance for his deceased son, his complicated relationship with Aya/Amunet, how losing a child breaks a bond..ideological differences failing to repair the bond etc..the game was incredible. I did not feel that in Odyssey, even less so in Valhalla.
The Ezio trilogy is by far my favourite, it’s nothing short of a masterpiece. These games are how I expect an assassins creed game to feel: they’re punchy, gory and refreshingly intellectual. I love the philosophy which is explored by the game. The combat and free running styles are also fantastic too. I also think it’s because of the Ezio trilogy that I dislike the new titles so much. The old games never compromised over the quality of the story; they were created for the fans who loved learning about templars, assassins, ancient artefacts etc. The new games, as visually stunning as they are, don’t do this. I struggle to take their characters seriously too, they are far too cartoonish and uninteresting. The best thing about Ezio (and Edward) was just how wise they became. This is perhaps something which has been lost in recent games.

AC unity finally getting the recognition it deserved. An amazing AC experience. Its parkour and gameplay was so good that playing the older games sometimes feel slow boring in comparison 😅
I love Black Flag for its fighting System. I really like that it isn’t too complicated and it feels realistic not like the newer games where you have to hit the enemy 20 times until his life bar is down with a damage number showing with every hit.
Honestly, speaking as someone who regards AC4 as THE BEST AC game out there (completed it 5 times now), even I think the combat system is way too simplified. IMHO, the system in AC2/ACB/ACR is better since I personally feel like I have more control, while in AC4 it is just parry, counter attack, parry, counter attack, rinse and repeat. Especially when you get the mayan armor (which makes you impervious to bullets). The fighting animations are very cool, but still the combat is very simple.
I really liked it too, felt very piratey, difficult in some parts, but also really fun. I love origins too, but the combat in it is really just, “hit, block, hit again”.

Origins is so horribly underrated. It’s so immersive, the weapon system, the epic quests, story, cinematogrophy. And as a man that enjoys grindy games. This game was just perfect and amazing as an origin story. And one where it actually makes sense for the gameplay to not be «assasiny»because he didn’t become a assassin until the end. You get to see the journey of the creed being created
Origins is the beginning of the end for the series to me. For me, it’s not really an assassins creed game anymore from that point forward. Obviously the formula change worked for them and a lot more people love the RPG elements than hate them, like me.
I hated Origins. For me it felt like the classic new „map over story“. The story and especially all side quest (that flooded the else empty map) were so horribly repetitive.. It was just running from one arrow in the map to the next one. I miss the story based games as ac 2
Totally agree with you on Origins. A perfect blend of the old games with the new era and Egypt was a magical setting. Too bad they leaned so hard into the new era and Valhalla is a nothing but a chore
I've completed "Origins" to 100.0%. Nothing left undone. Regarding "Valhalla", I probably wouldn't play much of it, if I received it for free. I cannot think of a more ill-fitting figure for an assassin than a Viking. Vikings are all about intimation, openly threatening, intimating, brawling, i.e., the polar opposite of "stealth", aren't they? I don't think I'll ever understand that design choice.

Even following your content and watching the interviews you did and knowing that Darby McDevitt was involved, nothing about the game interested me. So, at least it wasn't a disappointment, for me. Just a standard boring slog from this series.
@@calebmurphy9406 Valhalla is hella fun I don’t know what your talking about , it’s not a great ac game by any means but it is a very good game , so many missions the raid minigame the ability to literally go to asgard and play as odin , the acts are quite fun getting to raid fortresses with all your vikings
@Ezio Auditore da La La La the plot takes you to each area of the map you just explore beyond i dunno man the only negatives are j have about it are the combat is so easy and there’s barely any gear , the game is similar to the Witcher with wearing matching sets five you stat upgrades not a fan
I would definitely put AC III higher on the list - we have 3 incredibly interesting modern day missions, one of the best music in the series and we still have Desmond.
My absolute favourite game of the AC series has to be AC2. I just adore the character, the storytelling, the setting and especially the soundtrack! They all work together really well to create a really great game and made me feel something and watching Ezio grow up is so incredible. Also just reflecting on the beginning of the game where Ezio is carefree and naive with his family vs the mature but still charming person he ends on makes me tear up a bit
The replay value is trash though. Black Flag is a game that you can replay even today and have fun. Imo, Ubisoft should remake the games like CAPCOM have been doing with there Resident Evil series.

I loved in Brotherhood (I believe) that you were able to use the double hidden blades as weapons and not just a tool to assassinate people. It was so fun to just stand in the middle of a big fight seemingly unarmed and deflect and counterattack with the hidden blades.
3 came out while I was taking American history in 8th grade and my teacher loved to talk about it. Great teacher and great class. All of it made me care enough to do my work and want to learn.
Black flag will always be my favorite AC game. There is just so much to do, and the idea of a pirate and an assassin is so sick! Also, the story is just so dang good. This brings actual pirates such as Blackbeard and stede bonnet and just makes them so perfect
@@Ash-cq6bh in a few years when PS5 becomes the commonly used console, I could see a viable remaster. But too many people still use PS4 which AC4 is available for.
I've a real soft spot for Rogue (shay's focking appalling O-Irish accent aside). Love the history and the world. How they combined the ohio/hudson/potomac river valley networks, the harsh beauty of the north atlantic and how they weaved in the history of the 7 years war. Delish! After valhalla, we've had 3 of the same style AC games. Time for a switch up. Bring on the new!
They will not do a switchup. They tend to stick with a formula until the sales stard dropping. With the last three game the numbers are an upward curve.

I oved the game it is my favourite game till this day cause the lore is unique sure same as black flag even a little wose in mechanics but the mechanics which people wanted was there it had this perfect balance between really hard and really easy.
I feel like my biggest problems with the newer AC’s (like Valhalla) is the complexity of the fighting. I’m all for a game that makes you work to be good at it, but for me what made me fall in love with these games early on was the simplicity of the combat (especially with high profile enemies). It allowed me to take in the impact that fight has in the story and made me feel like an assassin. The way I see it is that if you’re a good assassin, your kills are almost always going to be quick and unexpected by your target. Being a Viking is cool, but I don’t buy into the assassin narrative and feel like it belongs in a different game universe
I think that's been my biggest issues with the new AC games too. They're good games, they just shouldn't have the Assassin's Creed title It's sad that I'd be MORE willing to buy them if they weren't in the AC series
Yuh I agree the only one I really got into was Origins but I still prefer the older games compared to it Valhalla and Odyssey are not that good IMO (compared to other assassins creed games) Ac 1 to 4 are some of the best ac games I have played
AC Origins, Odyssey ,and Valhalla focuses more on ISU lore. By the end of AC Valhalla if you reach to the king study room, you will find a detail explanation of the modern templar.
My personal favorite is Black Flag. When you can randomly sing sea shanties, and remember great pirate threats like "I'll cut off your lips and feed them to ya." Or" I'll use your flesh for chum and your bones for char!" It's more memorable than most of the stories of of the series.
@@Shexigawra77 To be very honest, after playing most of them, if you want to get into the newer ones just start with Origins. The story is great, with over 100 hours in game play. You can finish the story in about 80+. And you’ll see how it all started. Odyssey and Valhalla has the most brutal combat. But the story in Origins surpasses the other two in my opinion. Luckily Origins, odyssey , and Valhalla are on the game pass if you’re on Xbox.
Glad you rated Unity so high. I think it's fantastic. Most people have jaded views of the game because most people got heavily burnt by the launch of the game. But boy is it ever a great game now. I played it well after it was mostly fixed so I never had the bad glitches. I think if it had launched in a different state it'd be one of the best game of the series for most people.

AC 3 was my very first AC. I remember that my family and i went sledding. And i really wanted that game but it was already late and the store was closing. I talked to my brother in law and we were speeding to the store. We made it in time. I was 12. Good times
AC2 was my first, but my some how I connected with AC3 and the story the most as well as the timing with learning about history. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some ezio plotline, but after getting used to AC3’s new graphics is as all the way I’m
First assassin’s creed was mine. It was right before Christmas! Ac 2 had just come out and I asked for it for Christmas! Well I was old enough to understand gaming and stories! But young enough for my mind to take it all in! My mom took us to a Christmas concert behind our home at a local church! Well boy didn’t my mind run wild!! I swore the templars where coming to kill me!! My mom finally gave me the keys and I walked home (more like ran) and hope back on the ole PS3 to finish ac hahahahahah
As someone who has never played any of the AC games EXCEPT odyssey, I can say that I enjoyed that game SO much. I guess the fact that I wasn’t expecting it to fit with something else meant that I was able to enjoy it for what it was. That I did. It’s one of my favorite rpgs.
Same man, Odyssey is also the only AC game I have played, so I didn't have any expectations for what it should be. I like the game a lot, but I think some of the controls are a little wanky and I am not the biggest fan of all the boat activities, I never liked the boat battles etc
I've played rogue and origins and odyssey and odyssey was my favourite one hell it's my favourite single player game it's so fun and full of things to do
Unity is an incredible game. I played well after release and didn't get any bugs so my experience wasn't tainted. I had such a blast playing this game. Arno is a "fine" protagonist, but the relationship with Elise is very intriguing and kept me invested in the plot. The gameplay felt so clean compared to Black Flag. Best parkour and assassination missions in the series. And PARIS. Paris is an absolutely amazing setting, it felt so alive. Glad to see it get some love. Still, I wouldn't put it over AC2 or Origins.
Yep totally agree with this entire list .... Especially putting Unity so high on the list, I completely agree with this... Unity felt like the last true AC game and playing as Arno actually felt like playing as an actual Assassin I hope ubisoft notices this sudden explosion of love this game is getting lately and hopefully they remaster it or remake it and fix those horrible bugs it used to have
Definitely! I always make post saying the same, if we all only knew Unity was apparently the last AC game we'd ever get, maybe we could've done something.
It doesn't even need a remaster really. I'm playing it again now, you wouldn't believe that it came out like 6 years ago, it looks amazing, even better than the most recent ones. Yeah it's still a bit buggy in places, especially the combat, it just needs some love from the devs and a few patches.
Only problem with Unity is the "bland" story and character development. If they only did it right, it can go #1 or #2 on my list easily next to Blackflag, Ezio Trilogy and Origins. Unity's stealth, gameplay, missions, and graphics are rock solid. Probably the best of the franchise.

I have to write this comment, even though I never usually comment on anything. Your choice of putting Brotherhood at the top is something I completely agree with. I remember, as a kid, playing it through with my dad, who is a historian specialising in renaissance, sitting beside me. He would tell me small stories etc. about the monuments and the structure of society at the time, while providing lore for both the templars and the original hashashins. Going on a trip to Rome in real life the following year cemented this as my all time favourite. The attention to detail in the game meant that I could - in a quite surprising way - find my way around Rome, a city I'd never visited in real life before, without using a map. Just remembering the locations from the game. Nostalgia, attention to detail, the music, the characters, the setting, the agenda. Everything about Brotherhood - to me - is exactly what I think AC is. The perfect incarnation of the vision.
Getting goosebumps reading this. To me brotherhood and ac2 are propably my favorite games just because they were so captivating to me back then. Especially brotherhood. I played it all the times. The way you experienced brotherhood is just next level. I had a somewhat similar experience with me going to Florence a few years later after playing ac2 and the day I returned I just wanted to boot up ac2 again to check for the street where I had my most amazing pizza ever :D
Rogue is definitely underrated. The only thing I didn't like was how short it was. Of course it's no where near perfect but it's honestly one of my favorites
Regardless of your own personal list, one thing I think we can all appreciate with every AC game is the attention to detail with regards to the maps/locations. A lot of people commenting here about visiting locations in Italy, and how the creators perfectly modeled it in the game. In Florence I walked over a famous bridge called Ponte Vecchio, and my goodness did they nail that on the head. But that’s a very famous location, of course they’ll get that. Surely they wont get some obscure ancient location in a forgotten city, right? Wrong. I was in Greece on Mykonos, but there’s an island a quick ferry ride away called Delos. On this island is a forgotten ancient city that’s only ruins today. Within those ruins are these famous lion statues called the Terrace of lions. They used to stand next to a lake that’s since been drained. Both the city and the statues are much less well known pieces of Greek history compared to the Parthenon or Library of Alexandria etc. So one day when I was playing Odyssey I recalled that trip to Greece and went to the island in the game, which they created with the city, but then to my complete amazement, they not only had on the lion statues there, but they has the correct number of them and placed exactly where they were in relationship to the ancient lake, and in the exact spot as they were on the real island. 🤯🤯🤯 they didnt even make it a big deal like they were the showcase of the island. They were just a standard decoration. If i hadnt seen the statues in real life, I would have never known the game ones were based off of real history. Amazing.
brotherhood being number one is somthing i think we can all agree on. the ability to recruit,train and progress with your assasins. the apple of eden, the beautiful asthetic and combat, everything about it!
Yeah I always loved Brotherhood. There are some janky moments that make it absolutely soul crushing to 100% though. Mostly the entire sections from the castello towards the location of the apple and then again to safety. Both sections are absolute torture to 100%. I also remember rage quitting on the Leonardo tank mission.
It's so weird. Brotherhood has always been my least favorite game. I think it was mainly due to the disappointment when it first came out. What I loved the most about 1 and 2 was planning assassinations, and being creative and stealthy. Brotherhood had literally 1 kill that allowed you to be creative, which was Juan Borgia. The rest of it was linear. Future games continued this trend, but Brotherhood was my first disappointment in this regard, and I will always remember it with a sour taste in my mouth. On top of that, it felt too short, and was quite glitchy at release. I never viewed it as a fully fletched title, just a very large DLC. I was very surprised to find out that it was a fan favorite. Maybe it is worth a replay.
Seeing them rise to the rank of assassin in their own ceremony was probably one on my proudest achievements as a kid! Couldn’t help but feel pride! I feel assassins creed has really lost its way since Desmond died.

I remember how every year since 2007 and then 2009, whenever I would go to game stop I would see all the posters of the AC games that were new at the time. Because I was young at the time to not play these games, I missed out on them. And man, now that i've played all of them after four years, what a journey it was to play these games.

@Serbon Resurrected Agreed. You are supposed to discover the history as it is, not change it, to synchronize with your ancestor, but in Odyssey there is no synchronization! Really? The timeline of the releases was chronologically inaccurate and confusing as hell. AC3 was the last to happen but the first to be released. Go back and play them in historical order - Flag, then Rogue, then AC3 - you may enjoy them even more
I don't think people realize how much of a breakthrough the first Assassins Creed was. It was literally Prince of Persia but with an open world, where you can blend with people and hide in plain sight with an amazing parkour system which was unheard of at the time.
I'm so glad to find someone who appreciates revelations. The story implications of that title gave me so many goosebumps. Also, as a teenager who was already **really** tired of only playing as teen/young adult in games, I just loved being able to see a story told through the perception of a much older main character. I have always enjoyed talking to my grandparents when I was a kid. They were not as flamboyant as younger people in my family, but I've always been impressed by how much respect they were able to command while still being calm and kind. It was humbling. Since their passing I can't help but look for that same quiet strength in fictional characters sometimes.

I like Bayek because he doesn't quite feel like the the masterful assassin of the other games because he isn't one. He is first and foremost a warrior, and they capture that through really well done gameplay. However, they do not completely butcher the other stealth aspects of the franchise. It was a phenomenal experience
True. I feel like out of all the assassins, in terms of ENVIRONMENT Bayek didn't give a shit. He didn't forge some grandiose 'remake the world' vision; he simply wanted revenge. Pure and direct. Plus the cinematic trailer for Origins was fuckin fire

As a Greek,odyssey made me feel like I’m actually living in 491 bc. The way people feel like they’re actual pirates playing blackflag. It had everything I expected it to have. Mythology,war,humor,I was having philosophical conversations with fucking Socrates and they felt vividly real. It was a hell of a game in my opinion. It definitely didn’t feel like an assassins creed game,but as a videogame it was fantastic
@Yugoslavian Catu expected Ubisoft to make all characters speak Ancient Greek? In that case ac 2 should have been in Italian,revelations should have been in Turkish,unity should have been in French and so on. I understand a little bit of Ancient Greek and even I would get bored of the game if they made it in my language
I need people to understand that AC has a story, and Origins, Odyssey tell the begginning of that story. They don't have that "classical" AC feel because the Assassins weren't ASSASSINS yet. People need to look at the bigger picture, Origins showed how they came to cut their fingers and Odyssey the connection between Kassandra and Layla... It's just unfair to shit on these games for this reason alone. The devs made a perfect game and I stand by them.
AC3 was probably the game in the series that really had a powerful effect on me. Like jay as for myself, this game came out while I was studying the American revolution in school. Which was just the most perfect time ever for this game to come out. I was absolutely hooked. And really this was where I got my everlasting love for history in general.
I only really disagree with your point on Revelation's world when comparing it to Italy. For me at least, Constantinople and the underground kingdom near the end of the game are some of the coolest places to explore in the AC series.
Also, as far as parkour goes, constantinople is still one the few locations where u can parkour all over the map cuz the streets are so narrow, putting the river separating the city aside. Feels like the city was chosen and designed to enable ezio's movement abilities
I 100% agree. The setting of Constantinople and how refreshing it felt after two games set in Italy was one of the many things I loved about Revelations.
So far I think I have liked Syndicate the most. Ziplining around London was a blast and I really liked a lot of the side characters. The Twins never bothered me ether. They felt like two young people who were born into the assassin life style so naturally they might not be the best or even take it all as seriously as others since its something they are just familiar with. But then they get to grow and see that what they are doing actually matters and has impact. The side but were we get to travel to world war 2 was also great and makes me want a game completely in that setting as we get to kill templar nazis with Winston Churchill.
I love syndicate. I think my favorite is either brotherhood or syndicate. Syndicate did things so well. It actually had a stealth system, smooth parkour in which a zip line opened up so many different possibilities, decent combat that is still fun (the cane sword is the best), has classic ac tools like poison dart, smoke bombs, throwing knife, hand gun. + it has the ability to kidnap enemies, carriages with fun carriage combat, a good map, 2 solid main characters. It checks so many boxes, same with brotherhood, that they are top 1-5 in the series.
Agreed. They’re my favourite protagonists so far (I’ve played every game up to Syndicate), along with my favourite antagonist (with Haytham a very close second). Jacob can be a bit much, but I like the sarcastic tone tbh. There’s no need to be so boring and serious all the time, as much as I also loved that about Conner. The only problem I have with Syndicate is the free running/parkour system. Why they didn’t just keep the same one from Unity shocks me. Also, free running around London is just difficult without using the rope launcher constantly, which was frustrating. Although, I did enjoy using the rope launcher in missions. I also enjoyed the fast-paced, unrealistic combat. I do miss the AC3 combat animations still, tho.
To this day I am still enamored with Brotherhood. The soundtrack, destroying Borgia towers, toppling Cesare's resources and making him run shouting "guards, guards!". The characters are all great and the game and Rome feel so alive. I think you're right and with the sad state Ubisoft is in. I don't think AC will ever top it again.
Ubisoft is in a better shape than 6-7 years ago when they were releasing the same AC over and over again. The fact they are taking 2 years instead of 1 between each games shows that they are privileging quality over quantity. Our opinion towards the latest AC might change over time like it did with Unity, Revelation & AC3. Brotherhood will always be number one tho
When looking back at the original AC game, I actually admired how they tried to go the route of taking out a target by attaining information and then choosing how to go about it. I don't think I would have minded seeing more of this Hitman-esque type of strategy more in the later games. EDIT: And aww yeah, AC:B was the very first one I played.
AC Black Flag will always be my favorite I remember watching this game as a kid wanting it so bad and when I was finally able to get it for like 6 bucks the magic became real I felt like a swashbuckling badass with some deadly skills and agility
After Odyssey… Valhalla honestly was a very VERY tall glass of cool clear thirst quenching water… yeah it’s not as good as Black Flag but it was a decent game…
Yeah I played valhallah its very good people overlook this game they wanted an game with actual assassin because they were so fed up with odeyseies and orgins.If you look past it its a game better than both ubisoft cant tell a story but valhallah has some great combat and decent parkour
I think the perfect Assassin's Creed game would consist of the core elements of the following games: Brotherhood: combat, assassin guild/recruit system, economy Assassin's Creed III: stealth (refined) Unity: parkour, setting, game world The game could finally take place in Japan and should focus more on the Assassin aspect. The story should also focus more on the Assassin part and could give more insight into the organization of the Assassin's Guild. As example: An armor set from Ezio (who went to Japan on one of his travels) and just pieces of a tale on how a Legend in the Name of Ezio gave the Brotherhood one of its pieces. And you can find more pieces of the set in the world. I mean you have all this lore on the guild and yet the new games are shoving the part Assassin fully aside. For me this would be the game of my dreams. Thank you all for attending my ted talk.
Assassin's creed with Ninjas and Shinobi's that would be cool! Huge crowds and busy streets, Many rooftops and crowded buildings similar to unity! Sounds badass
Why not Unity's stealth as well? I genuinely never used smoke bombs until Unity where you can both throw it straight to your feet and throw it further away, the ability of having access to both of your ranged weapon and tools is nothing short of genius. If it's just more polished, make cover less sticky, turn fireworks into a sound based tool rather than line of sight, and improve some AI behavior, I can see it being the best stealth system the series ever has. Also you can crouch whenever you want and there's hundreds of crowds on the street to easily blends into. Really sold the "hide in plain sight" assassin fantasy for me (in the other games except AC1 and AC4, I just can't believe the other protagonists would blend in the crowd at all with their unusual outfits and some having too much muscle mass).
Tbf I don't think it would work on japan I get what your saying but the Japanese served with so much honour they wouldn't assassinate they would announce they're arrival which isn't what I'd see for a game like this

@@Based1889 “nothing to do after you finish the game.” All of the free dead kings dlc, trying to get all of the gear, the enigmas, co op missions, earning the platinum trophy, getting full synchronization on all main story levels, getting all cockades, side missions. Wdym nothing to do after finishing the game? There is so much to do. If your talking about nothing to do after you 100% the game then yeah sure not that much to do but then again the same could be said for like thousands of other games. Take marvels Spider-Man for example, I got the platinum and 100% everything including the dlc, there is nothing to do afterwards. Same could be said with miles morales, nothing to do after getting 100%, although I almost got the platinum I just stopped playing it a while ago. Same could be said with a lot of games since there’s not much to do with any game after 100%.

What made odyssey and Valhalla so good for me was that I love the mythology and style behind them. The intriguing mystery behind Greeks, and the pure badassery behind the vikings. AC 2 and 1 are by far my favorite story wise and gameplay
I cannot describe which feeling Edward gives me, AC4 brought me into the series and I still love the game today and would it put almost at the top, I have to admit that Ezio is the form of Assassin I would like to be if I could. As weird as it sounds. I would absolutely love an assassins creed game with the classic formula set in the modern day. It feels like we always get bits an pieces of it. But I think itd be so cool to have a game centered around the 2010s, or 2020s
The ezio trilogy is genuinely peak storytelling. EVERYTHING in those games is absolutely amazing. I mean Ezios family literally became the theme for assassin's creed and that's for good reason. But just a story about a man who loses everything he has in the name of an order just to find out that the message he received was for someone else. That he was a middle man between what was a mystery and the person who would solve it (That being Desmond) and him finally understanding that the answer was never his to find. It's tragic and he knows that yet he chooses to look forward and continue pushing to save the creed. He is one of gaming's greatest protagonists

Origins is one of the most enjoyable games I’ve ever played in 8 years of PC gaming! I genuinely love the story, characters and the freedom, some side quests are so detailed and feel like you’re really in that world since they sometimes connect to the main story! The weapon system and fight mechanics are pretty awesome. Mounts are kinda bugging but that’s fine since you can fast travel almost everywhere! I could go on for pretty long but to sum everything up: I LOVE AC Origins and I recommend everyone to give it a try even not on sale and even FPS players would love this game or non gamers that love Ancient Egypt!
AC4:BF definitely had some of the best writing, dialogue-wise - which made you invest in the characters so much more. Thatch's speech about being the Devil, the vitriolic insults thrown by Vane, the flashes of mutual respect that flicker between Kenway and Adé... This short rousing quote from early in the game is a great example: "Gentlemen! As is custom among our kind, we do not plunge headlong into folly on the orders of a single madman, but act according to our own collective madness! The object of our attention is a square-rigged galleon, and we want her for the advantage she'll bring Nassau. So I'll put it to the vote . . . All those in favour of storming this cove and taking the ship, stomp and shout "Aye!" And those who oppose, whimper `'Nay!"
AC3 will always be my favorite, flaws aside. My first AC was AC2 and by the time 3 came out I was so hyped for it, to me it was the most interesting setting yet. My mom got it for me on Christmas and I remember staying up all night playing it, eating Christmas junk food. I remember trying out the multiplayer for the first time and getting totally hooked, it was such a unique experience and I wish they would bring it back.

Brotherhood was my absolute favorite, no question. With the counter-kills, it was a bit of an easy game, but those kill animations were great. 😊 I recently started playing the game all over again.
Just played 1,2 brotherhood and rev. I honestly forgot how good brotherhood was, the assasin training and property buying was so fun but to see a main character grow over a trilogy in such a way was a page many writers should look at. Just wow. Best trilogy ever, right next to mass effect(excluding ending)
Revelations was my first AC , and to this day it's definitely in my top five. Yeah the tower defense got kinda annoying, but between the hookblade, the story, and everything else the game has, I can't not love it.
hookblade was and is always going to be my favourite blade. Its versatility was amazing and i love how ezio used it in so many more ways than what he was taught. ive also played all the games but started with number 2, still amazing games to this day

Odyssey is a masterpiece, it just wasn't a good assassins creed game, but even so I adored it and I really felt myself engaged in the ancient greek setting that it presented us. And I totally agree with number 1, brotherhood is indeed a remarkable game that deserves the top spot.

@@JoaoPereira-jo7jv It's quite ludicrous to see how you talk about negatives without mentioning the positive aspects of it as well. And bad writing is a new argument from you lot. The plot of this game is actually very well written and most people think the same (even those who dislike the game in general), but you seem to be an exception on this one. Also, the game is not repetitive at all. There are always entertaining and alternative ways to complete missions/objectives. There are also the mythological creatures who are very nice to fight against and can put up a challenge even at normal difficulty. Your actions and decisions for example influence the game at both long and short periods which gives it a lot of immersion. Some RPG elements of the game are utter trash, on that I agree, but the game isn't repetitive at all, quite on the contrary it's immersive and has a giant and beautifully well designed map.

If that's good writing for everyone, then it's obvious why games are getting worst each year story-wise. Alternative ways!? That's what u had before with the unique social stealth, which is completely absent... Before u could use courtesans/thieves to distract guards, throw money into the ground to cause a mess with the population, etc. The decision-taking is dumb af and goes against one of the essences of AC, which is to discover the past. When u go into the animus the purpose is to witness the life of someone long gone in the perspective of the world they lived and how they saw it and how their background influenced it. The world map, yes it is beautiful and huge, but all u do is walk long distances and dumb parkour. They could create awesome level design with some tree parkour like in AC3 with some innovative moves, making awesome parkour playgrounds connecting trees, caves and cities altogether with innovative parkour moves. But nooooo, that is too much fun and ppl won't buy exp boosts if they're having fun duuh. Instead, make them watch the same stupid animations while they walk forward picking the same trees and rocks because that's what fun is about amirite!?
Really Appreciate the love you provided unity. Sure it was buggy but is now quite playable. Also the story was top notch and I hope Arno makes an appearance in the future. Not a tow the line type protagonist was an assassin in Spirit.
AC3 and Unity are my favorites of the series. It seems like such an odd combination but I absolutely LOVED Connor's story and background and Unity's depth of content. It felt like the developers went and took time to actually understand native American culture and life. I, not being native myself, would never understand if it was truly 100% accurate or not, but by God if it didn't feel like being smacked into the middle of a revolution and of a battle of ideologies. Unity, while the story isn't as great compared to other entries was incredible in my opinion. The only AC Game I have dedicated to 100%-ing being the only game I played for weeks straight. It's side missions were comprehensive and it's DLC story was great. The ability to choose how you complete missions like the Cathedral Assassination box mission was a great opportunity to let the player choose their path. Its stealth and parkour is almost unrivaled. For a game that came out in 2014 on a BRAND NEW console, I felt that it was one of the most complete ASSASSINS Creed experiences that I have ever had. Cheers for the ranking mate.

I replayed the 3rd AC yesterday and can't believe Connor's story ended so abruptly like that. The whole ending and the end of Desmond was ended so abruptly, felt like it had more to offer but the deadline came
Ac1 is still my favorite for the atmosphere, music, and brutal combat animations. The random templars rushing you and making all the weaker grunts stand back so they can 1v1 you was so fucking cool as a kid.
I'm replaying AC1 again (for about the 10th time, I Normally play all the games, well 1-Unity once a year) and AC1 & altiair has always been my favorite.
As someone who also played nearly all of the games, I completely agree with your list. Finally there's people who fully appreciate Unity and Origins- my favorites for sure.
Really interesting. For me, Unity and Origins are also the best of the Series. As Games. Not Story or Setting. I wanted to love Black Flag so much. But i had no fun with it. And i like this romanticised Pirate Theme a lot. But Gameplaywise it was not for me, I guess. I remember, when AC1 was announced and a lot of us got excited about the Climbing Session. But still, Unity feels like the definitive AC World. I stopped with AC2 and played most of the rest years later.
I am a female and I am always looking for any games that I can play as such. I am not a huge fighting fan but I was told about Odyssey and I love it mainly because there is no rush to advance, there is virtually unlimited options, the historical scenery is wonderful and for me, this is my newest favorite game just ahead of Red Dead Online. me personally, i think black flag is the best assassin's creed game mainly because of the pirate thing. But is odyssey really that good? i've only seen clips where odyssey doesn't really sold me (Assasination sometimes doesn't kill a person) because of the rpg-like system. But at the same time, i love rpg's (witcher 3 is my favourite game). I know this is your favourite game and i know you're gonna recommend me this game anyway, but can you point out the things you love about this game?
@@shiftboey There is still lots of killing if that is your thing but for me, I love the numerous quests and multiple people that you meet and it is quite an excellent story line.
I love this list particularly because of how positive you remain even on the lowest entry. For me, Unity is my favorite, and you nailed many of the reasons why, but the parkour deserves recognition too; it's *perfect,* with a high skill ceiling and beautifully flashy yet elegant animations that convey lethality and ability that, while naturally superhuman, don't fly in the face of believability in the moment. Bugs aside, traversing Paris remains my favorite act in Assassin's Creed by a huge margin, and I hope that one day, we'll return to city-focused AC games again.
When I first got my ps4, unity was one of the first games I played, along with bo3, the nostalgia hits every time and the idea of a multiplayer AC game was amazing.
Seeing you put Unity as the second greatest AC game is amazing! this has been one of my favorites since it came out. People still cite the bugginess as to why it was so bad and they were cleaned up fast. Play it today and you'll love it!
I mean it is still incredibly buggy but at least now it runs with way more stable fps. I only played a few missions but witnessed a dude getting launched in the air, that alerted the guards and I got detected. But the game does look like it launched yesterday so I shouldn't complain haha.
I personally enjoyed the weapon/armor system they were going for, it made for some unique combat encounters and challenged players into focuses on a specific roles and the 4 player coop emphasizes that. It also seemed to give each items its own character. if only it didn’t launch buggy it definitely could have lead the franchise differently
Yeah! I play it and honesltly its just great. I havent played many ac games but i can say i like ac unity more than origins for now (judt started origins but i just dont feel the vibe. It isnt ment to be that realistic but i like relism so yeah

You're one of the few like me who appreciates Unity. It was easily the most ambitious game. The crowd sizes were amazing. It's such a disappointment that it launched so buggy
Basim has the potential to be main character like ezio that can captivate the audience… All the need is parkour from unity, stealth from syndicate, a strong city setting the feels like best parts of all the best cities and to take the best parts of the combat and storytelling from what the people liked and disliked from the past and they have a base to build off as the continue forward. Hopefully Ubi keeps their promise and alternates between the big open world and the smaller old school games and nail the Japanese open world setting after mirage
I started with Brotherhood, and it is still my favorite to this day. It mixed so much of stuff I enjoy into one game, and did it well. I'm still struggling my way through the newer games after , but I can always go back and enjoy Brotherhood or Black Flag.
Rogue was my introduction to this series, and I'm not so blinded by nostalgia or how I feel about it that I can't see why people might not like it. It can be clunky, and the story is pretty short. But I still love it, like I love the Ezio Collection, Black Flag and Unity

Hate it when someone says that Rogue must suck because the mc is a Templar. Rogue completes the american trilogy and it used elements from the 3 and Black Flag to create it's own identity. Shay is a badass and the ending still gives me chills.
To me, Odyssey is the best AC by far. I completed every single interrogation point in that game, literally consumed everything the game had to offer. It feels like an adventure and I'll never forget The Eagle Bearer. I played Odyssey when I was in Highschool learning about Socrates, so that may have played a part.
AC Origins is one of my favorite games of all time. The best world I’ve ever played in, they nailed ancient Egypt. Masterpiece of a game one of the greatest open world games. Great story and great characters.
So I love origins, mainly because of how bayek acts. Bayek is the kind of guy who would stop to play ball with a kid then just go on his way. Also the graphics are amazing for my standards. And I like a kind of grindy game that makes you work hard for levels, makes you do side quests to get things. And I also love the story of it all, khemu is the reason he did it all,the people of siwa too, I love the gods they have in this and it makes you feel like your truly a shadow because of the Hidden Ones, it's overall the perfect game for me because I also love Egyptian settings, I loved the idea of the desert since I was pretty tiny
AC Origins was the first of it’s kind that I played, so my connection with Bayek is really strong and I still love it the most, from the ones I have played, the atmosphere is just amazing. Appreciate your ranking much, thanks for all the effort you put into making this video. ✨
Unity was what got me into the series, as soon as I saw all the bad reviews, I was very surprised, I have barely ever had bugs happen to me. Unity is criminally underrated.

The only one I disagree with is AC Origins being above AC2, although I will admit to putting hundreds of hours into AC Origins, AC2 is a masterpiece and one of the few AC games that people other than AC fans play a lot. In my opinion AC Origins belongs with AC Valhalla and Odyssey, those games are barely even Assassins Creed at this point.

Ezio is great but quite frankly, most side characters were really boring to me, but they are still somewhat memorable and I do remember some such as Machiavelli, Leonardo (who is the best side character in AC) or even La Volpe.
AC2 doesn't age well in the other aspects if you ask me, but it is still a good time and I can see why it was placed so low.
For me Brotherhood was the peak. I loved recruiting assassins and doing mission where I employed them strategically to take out guards. That is the coolest I felt in the entire series.

AC II came out when I was studying Renaissance art history in high school. Visiting the real Florence, places around Tuscany, Roma, etc. at that time was one of the most magical moments for me, hugely thanks to the AC II setting. I'll never forget that.
Similar for me. I remember being amazed at the history in the game, especially the architecture. It definitely had that magical feeling for me that you get when you’re a kid and a game just completely and totally engrosses you. Oblivion holds similar memories.

I was in middle school learning about the renaissance. In fact, most of the AC games I played (I’ve played them all expect for AC rogue and liberation) coincided with something in my school curriculum at that time. Didn’t plan it at all, but my school field trip to NY/DC happened after I finished AC3. Totally made me appreciate and fall in love with history

I went to Florence a few years back for the first time and thought many of the buildings looked familiar. Same with Venice and Rome. It was like I had been there before. I had forgotten all about AC2. When I replayed the game a while after that, it all came flooding back. It’s so awesome to see the areas that the game is based on. It makes it even more special. Still haven’t found any of the hidden tombs, though.
Unity is the ultimate vision of what AC could have been and the failure that led us down this path we are now on, for that I will never forgive it.

weirdly i loved odyssey. i have a massive love for greek mythology which probably made me like it more but i just found the game so beautiful and the exploration system was fun. only downfall to me was a lot of missions were extremely repetitive.

As an outsider to AC Odyssey is the only AC in all the years of it being a powerhouse that got me into AC. I can completely understand how jarring Odyssey would’ve been to AC fans with how different it is from the others especially those before it and Origins. For me though you have to give it credit for giving me more motivation to actually check out AC after all these years. Odyssey is perfect for me as I LOVE Ancient Roman and Greek history. So for me Odyssey is perfect. Can definitely see why fans of AC wouldn’t feel like it belongs.

That trip cemented AC2 as my all time fave, the attention to detail to the locations and history left me in awe

OG AC games for the story, AC Unity for being an actual assassin, AC Origins and Black Flag were absolutely phenomenal.
AC Odyssey/Vallhala are an absolute joy to play even tho its not assasins creed.
I've played almost every AC games and so far i could say that i enjoyed all of them, none of the game i would considered to be "bad", some of them are just mediocre (Syndicate and Rogue are mediocre)
i found odyssey very fun but I found Valhalla dogshit asf, even when I already separated it from AC franchise from the start I still found it so damn boring and awful

@@theotht i had the same issue. i thought video games were boring because i had the same experience with valhalla, but i played the ezio triology last week and my god i was captivated even though i had played them like 5 times through already. setting can carry games and sorry brits, but england is quite literally the most dreary looking country in the world. valhalla was just playing through quests you had no attachment to and the main characters personality was as flavorful as my sweaty ballsack. valhalla doesnt even deserve to be a game in its own right even if it wasnt part of assassins creed. its just boring

When I played ac3 I didn't realize there was a fast travel option so I ended up running everywhere and I think it's why I ended up enjoying the game so much. The snowy forests just can't be beat.

I played black flag in the perfect time in my life. Old enough to know how games should be played and how stories should be told but young enough to truly hang on disbelief. A bit like when we all watched Harry Potter for the first time.

I agree completely. When I played it for the first time back in high school my favorite thing was just collecting treasure. It remains the ONLY game that I enjoyed getting collectibles in. Honestly, the story itself felt more secondary. I just had a blast sailing the ocean, stopping at every single island, and walking through jungles.
Of course the story was great, too. The song "The Parting Glass" at the end was a really, really nice touch.
AC3 will always hold a special place in my heart because I was actually learning about the American Revolution in school at the time, and it unironically helped me memorize important moments in the war.

For me the whole Ezio Trilogy is and will probably be the best ac games. The music, the story and the gameplay, all of it I liked so much.
I wish that Ubisoft brings a character back that they truly develop for more than just one game so that people can grew with them.

I was thinking exactly the same, I would probably rank ACII as 1st and Revelations as 2nd. I I left Brotherhood as 3rd mostly because it is too similar to ACII (I call it the 2.1 :D ). But they are a perfect trilogy, even though I'd say Unity and Syndicate perfected the gameplay.

The first Assassin’s Creed is an incredible game that still holds its own. Very unique playing through it now all these years later.
Still to this day, AC1 will remain my fav AC game.
AC is history, a real gameplay revolution but is a little more than a tech demo, the 2nd is pratically a reboot and a real game.
AC1 was incredible in its own right, it set the tone for things to come and founded an arguably legendary franchise. That being said, I played it again recently and found it aged in some ways, and not all of it good. It was repetitive and some story elements were ham-fisted.
I played it 10 years ago and it aged like milk BACK THEN.

Bayek has to be one of my favorite protagonists. He is brutal yet incredibly kind and understanding. It's a personality type not often explored.
I fully agree, bayek had moments where he's fuming with rage and anger to get revenge and then moments where he laughs and giggles smiles. And to top it off has some heart-wrenching cutscences where you really feel the pain he goes through.
@@beaniest9210 His deep personality, which was explored well..his sense of justice as a Medjay and his quest for vengeance for his deceased son, his complicated relationship with Aya/Amunet, how losing a child breaks a bond..ideological differences failing to repair the bond etc..the game was incredible. I did not feel that in Odyssey, even less so in Valhalla.

The Ezio trilogy is by far my favourite, it’s nothing short of a masterpiece. These games are how I expect an assassins creed game to feel: they’re punchy, gory and refreshingly intellectual. I love the philosophy which is explored by the game. The combat and free running styles are also fantastic too.
I also think it’s because of the Ezio trilogy that I dislike the new titles so much. The old games never compromised over the quality of the story; they were created for the fans who loved learning about templars, assassins, ancient artefacts etc. The new games, as visually stunning as they are, don’t do this. I struggle to take their characters seriously too, they are far too cartoonish and uninteresting. The best thing about Ezio (and Edward) was just how wise they became. This is perhaps something which has been lost in recent games.

AC unity finally getting the recognition it deserved. An amazing AC experience. Its parkour and gameplay was so good that playing the older games sometimes feel slow boring in comparison 😅
I love Black Flag for its fighting System. I really like that it isn’t too complicated and it feels realistic not like the newer games where you have to hit the enemy 20 times until his life bar is down with a damage number showing with every hit.
But I like the pirate thing and having a ship and your own crew, it's felt so realistic like you're meeting real people
Honestly, speaking as someone who regards AC4 as THE BEST AC game out there (completed it 5 times now), even I think the combat system is way too simplified. IMHO, the system in AC2/ACB/ACR is better since I personally feel like I have more control, while in AC4 it is just parry, counter attack, parry, counter attack, rinse and repeat. Especially when you get the mayan armor (which makes you impervious to bullets). The fighting animations are very cool, but still the combat is very simple.
I really liked it too, felt very piratey, difficult in some parts, but also really fun. I love origins too, but the combat in it is really just, “hit, block, hit again”.

Origins is so horribly underrated. It’s so immersive, the weapon system, the epic quests, story, cinematogrophy. And as a man that enjoys grindy games. This game was just perfect and amazing as an origin story. And one where it actually makes sense for the gameplay to not be «assasiny»because he didn’t become a assassin until the end. You get to see the journey of the creed being created
Origins is the very first AC game i played and makes me wanna get every games in the series :) the visual is insane :D
Despite it being trivial, my one major issue with Origins was how small the selection of outfits were-relative to the map size.
Origins is the beginning of the end for the series to me. For me, it’s not really an assassins creed game anymore from that point forward. Obviously the formula change worked for them and a lot more people love the RPG elements than hate them, like me.

I've completed "Origins" to 100.0%. Nothing left undone. Regarding "Valhalla", I probably wouldn't play much of it, if I received it for free. I cannot think of a more ill-fitting figure for an assassin than a Viking. Vikings are all about intimation, openly threatening, intimating, brawling, i.e., the polar opposite of "stealth", aren't they? I don't think I'll ever understand that design choice.

@Ezio Auditore da La La La the plot takes you to each area of the map you just explore beyond i dunno man the only negatives are j have about it are the combat is so easy and there’s barely any gear , the game is similar to the Witcher with wearing matching sets five you stat upgrades not a fan
I would definitely put AC III higher on the list - we have 3 incredibly interesting modern day missions, one of the best music in the series and we still have Desmond.

My absolute favourite game of the AC series has to be AC2. I just adore the character, the storytelling, the setting and especially the soundtrack! They all work together really well to create a really great game and made me feel something and watching Ezio grow up is so incredible. Also just reflecting on the beginning of the game where Ezio is carefree and naive with his family vs the mature but still charming person he ends on makes me tear up a bit

The replay value is trash though. Black Flag is a game that you can replay even today and have fun. Imo, Ubisoft should remake the games like CAPCOM have been doing with there Resident Evil series.

I loved in Brotherhood (I believe) that you were able to use the double hidden blades as weapons and not just a tool to assassinate people. It was so fun to just stand in the middle of a big fight seemingly unarmed and deflect and counterattack with the hidden blades.
You could also counter attack in AC1
You can do that in like every single game lol

You could steel all enemy's weapons and use them against them self. And the murder broom was the coolest weapon :D
3 came out while I was taking American history in 8th grade and my teacher loved to talk about it. Great teacher and great class. All of it made me care enough to do my work and want to learn.

Black flag will always be my favorite AC game. There is just so much to do, and the idea of a pirate and an assassin is so sick! Also, the story is just so dang good. This brings actual pirates such as Blackbeard and stede bonnet and just makes them so perfect

I've a real soft spot for Rogue (shay's focking appalling O-Irish accent aside). Love the history and the world. How they combined the ohio/hudson/potomac river valley networks, the harsh beauty of the north atlantic and how they weaved in the history of the 7 years war. Delish!

I oved the game it is my favourite game till this day cause the lore is unique sure same as black flag even a little wose in mechanics but the mechanics which people wanted was there it had this perfect balance between really hard and really easy.
I feel like my biggest problems with the newer AC’s (like Valhalla) is the complexity of the fighting. I’m all for a game that makes you work to be good at it, but for me what made me fall in love with these games early on was the simplicity of the combat (especially with high profile enemies). It allowed me to take in the impact that fight has in the story and made me feel like an assassin. The way I see it is that if you’re a good assassin, your kills are almost always going to be quick and unexpected by your target. Being a Viking is cool, but I don’t buy into the assassin narrative and feel like it belongs in a different game universe
I think that's been my biggest issues with the new AC games too. They're good games, they just shouldn't have the Assassin's Creed title

Yuh I agree the only one I really got into was Origins but I still prefer the older games compared to it Valhalla and Odyssey are not that good IMO (compared to other assassins creed games) Ac 1 to 4 are some of the best ac games I have played

AC Origins, Odyssey ,and Valhalla focuses more on ISU lore. By the end of AC Valhalla if you reach to the king study room, you will find a detail explanation of the modern templar.
My personal favorite is Black Flag. When you can randomly sing sea shanties, and remember great pirate threats like "I'll cut off your lips and feed them to ya." Or" I'll use your flesh for chum and your bones for char!" It's more memorable than most of the stories of of the series.

@@Shexigawra77 To be very honest, after playing most of them, if you want to get into the newer ones just start with Origins. The story is great, with over 100 hours in game play. You can finish the story in about 80+. And you’ll see how it all started. Odyssey and Valhalla has the most brutal combat. But the story in Origins surpasses the other two in my opinion. Luckily Origins, odyssey , and Valhalla are on the game pass if you’re on Xbox.
Glad you rated Unity so high. I think it's fantastic. Most people have jaded views of the game because most people got heavily burnt by the launch of the game. But boy is it ever a great game now. I played it well after it was mostly fixed so I never had the bad glitches. I think if it had launched in a different state it'd be one of the best game of the series for most people.

First assassin’s creed was mine. It was right before Christmas! Ac 2 had just come out and I asked for it for Christmas! Well I was old enough to understand gaming and stories! But young enough for my mind to take it all in! My mom took us to a Christmas concert behind our home at a local church! Well boy didn’t my mind run wild!! I swore the templars where coming to kill me!! My mom finally gave me the keys and I walked home (more like ran) and hope back on the ole PS3 to finish ac hahahahahah
As someone who has never played any of the AC games EXCEPT odyssey, I can say that I enjoyed that game SO much. I guess the fact that I wasn’t expecting it to fit with something else meant that I was able to enjoy it for what it was. That I did. It’s one of my favorite rpgs.
Same man, Odyssey is also the only AC game I have played, so I didn't have any expectations for what it should be. I like the game a lot, but I think some of the controls are a little wanky and I am not the biggest fan of all the boat activities, I never liked the boat battles etc

Unity is an incredible game. I played well after release and didn't get any bugs so my experience wasn't tainted. I had such a blast playing this game. Arno is a "fine" protagonist, but the relationship with Elise is very intriguing and kept me invested in the plot. The gameplay felt so clean compared to Black Flag. Best parkour and assassination missions in the series. And PARIS. Paris is an absolutely amazing setting, it felt so alive. Glad to see it get some love. Still, I wouldn't put it over AC2 or Origins.
Yep totally agree with this entire list .... Especially putting Unity so high on the list, I completely agree with this... Unity felt like the last true AC game and playing as Arno actually felt like playing as an actual Assassin I hope ubisoft notices this sudden explosion of love this game is getting lately and hopefully they remaster it or remake it and fix those horrible bugs it used to have
Definitely! I always make post saying the same, if we all only knew Unity was apparently the last AC game we'd ever get, maybe we could've done something.
It doesn't even need a remaster really. I'm playing it again now, you wouldn't believe that it came out like 6 years ago, it looks amazing, even better than the most recent ones. Yeah it's still a bit buggy in places, especially the combat, it just needs some love from the devs and a few patches.
Only problem with Unity is the "bland" story and character development. If they only did it right, it can go #1 or #2 on my list easily next to Blackflag, Ezio Trilogy and Origins. Unity's stealth, gameplay, missions, and graphics are rock solid. Probably the best of the franchise.

Your choice of putting Brotherhood at the top is something I completely agree with.
I remember, as a kid, playing it through with my dad, who is a historian specialising in renaissance, sitting beside me. He would tell me small stories etc. about the monuments and the structure of society at the time, while providing lore for both the templars and the original hashashins.
Going on a trip to Rome in real life the following year cemented this as my all time favourite. The attention to detail in the game meant that I could - in a quite surprising way - find my way around Rome, a city I'd never visited in real life before, without using a map. Just remembering the locations from the game.
Nostalgia, attention to detail, the music, the characters, the setting, the agenda. Everything about Brotherhood - to me - is exactly what I think AC is. The perfect incarnation of the vision.
Getting goosebumps reading this. To me brotherhood and ac2 are propably my favorite games just because they were so captivating to me back then. Especially brotherhood. I played it all the times. The way you experienced brotherhood is just next level. I had a somewhat similar experience with me going to Florence a few years later after playing ac2 and the day I returned I just wanted to boot up ac2 again to check for the street where I had my most amazing pizza ever :D
Rogue is definitely underrated. The only thing I didn't like was how short it was. Of course it's no where near perfect but it's honestly one of my favorites

Regardless of your own personal list, one thing I think we can all appreciate with every AC game is the attention to detail with regards to the maps/locations. A lot of people commenting here about visiting locations in Italy, and how the creators perfectly modeled it in the game. In Florence I walked over a famous bridge called Ponte Vecchio, and my goodness did they nail that on the head. But that’s a very famous location, of course they’ll get that. Surely they wont get some obscure ancient location in a forgotten city, right? Wrong. I was in Greece on Mykonos, but there’s an island a quick ferry ride away called Delos. On this island is a forgotten ancient city that’s only ruins today. Within those ruins are these famous lion statues called the Terrace of lions. They used to stand next to a lake that’s since been drained. Both the city and the statues are much less well known pieces of Greek history compared to the Parthenon or Library of Alexandria etc. So one day when I was playing Odyssey I recalled that trip to Greece and went to the island in the game, which they created with the city, but then to my complete amazement, they not only had on the lion statues there, but they has the correct number of them and placed exactly where they were in relationship to the ancient lake, and in the exact spot as they were on the real island. 🤯🤯🤯 they didnt even make it a big deal like they were the showcase of the island. They were just a standard decoration. If i hadnt seen the statues in real life, I would have never known the game ones were based off of real history. Amazing.

brotherhood being number one is somthing i think we can all agree on. the ability to recruit,train and progress with your assasins. the apple of eden, the beautiful asthetic and combat, everything about it!
Yeah I always loved Brotherhood. There are some janky moments that make it absolutely soul crushing to 100% though. Mostly the entire sections from the castello towards the location of the apple and then again to safety. Both sections are absolute torture to 100%. I also remember rage quitting on the Leonardo tank mission.
It's so weird. Brotherhood has always been my least favorite game.
I think it was mainly due to the disappointment when it first came out. What I loved the most about 1 and 2 was planning assassinations, and being creative and stealthy.
Brotherhood had literally 1 kill that allowed you to be creative, which was Juan Borgia. The rest of it was linear.
Future games continued this trend, but Brotherhood was my first disappointment in this regard, and I will always remember it with a sour taste in my mouth.
On top of that, it felt too short, and was quite glitchy at release. I never viewed it as a fully fletched title, just a very large DLC.
I was very surprised to find out that it was a fan favorite. Maybe it is worth a replay.
Seeing them rise to the rank of assassin in their own ceremony was probably one on my proudest achievements as a kid! Couldn’t help but feel pride! I feel assassins creed has really lost its way since Desmond died.

I remember how every year since 2007 and then 2009, whenever I would go to game stop I would see all the posters of the AC games that were new at the time. Because I was young at the time to not play these games, I missed out on them. And man, now that i've played all of them after four years, what a journey it was to play these games.

I don't even know why when you die it says "desyncronized" instead of saying "you died" or "death", which would have been more appropriate.

I don't think people realize how much of a breakthrough the first Assassins Creed was. It was literally Prince of Persia but with an open world, where you can blend with people and hide in plain sight with an amazing parkour system which was unheard of at the time.
I'm so glad to find someone who appreciates revelations. The story implications of that title gave me so many goosebumps. Also, as a teenager who was already **really** tired of only playing as teen/young adult in games, I just loved being able to see a story told through the perception of a much older main character. I have always enjoyed talking to my grandparents when I was a kid. They were not as flamboyant as younger people in my family, but I've always been impressed by how much respect they were able to command while still being calm and kind. It was humbling. Since their passing I can't help but look for that same quiet strength in fictional characters sometimes.
Revelations for me was pointless.

I like Bayek because he doesn't quite feel like the the masterful assassin of the other games because he isn't one. He is first and foremost a warrior, and they capture that through really well done gameplay. However, they do not completely butcher the other stealth aspects of the franchise. It was a phenomenal experience
True. I feel like out of all the assassins, in terms of ENVIRONMENT Bayek didn't give a shit. He didn't forge some grandiose 'remake the world' vision; he simply wanted revenge. Pure and direct. Plus the cinematic trailer for Origins was fuckin fire

As a Greek,odyssey made me feel like I’m actually living in 491 bc. The way people feel like they’re actual pirates playing blackflag. It had everything I expected it to have. Mythology,war,humor,I was having philosophical conversations with fucking Socrates and they felt vividly real. It was a hell of a game in my opinion. It definitely didn’t feel like an assassins creed game,but as a videogame it was fantastic

In that case ac 2 should have been in Italian,revelations should have been in Turkish,unity should have been in French and so on. I need people to understand that AC has a story, and Origins, Odyssey tell the begginning of that story. They don't have that "classical" AC feel because the Assassins weren't ASSASSINS yet. People need to look at the bigger picture, Origins showed how they came to cut their fingers and Odyssey the connection between Kassandra and Layla... It's just unfair to shit on these games for this reason alone. The devs made a perfect game and I stand by them.

AC3 was probably the game in the series that really had a powerful effect on me. Like jay as for myself, this game came out while I was studying the American revolution in school. Which was just the most perfect time ever for this game to come out. I was absolutely hooked. And really this was where I got my everlasting love for history in general.
Odyssey and Black Flag sit at the top of my list, both for their characters and plots.
I only really disagree with your point on Revelation's world when comparing it to Italy. For me at least, Constantinople and the underground kingdom near the end of the game are some of the coolest places to explore in the AC series.

Also, as far as parkour goes, constantinople is still one the few locations where u can parkour all over the map cuz the streets are so narrow, putting the river separating the city aside.

cappadocia was amazing. it was such a surprise when you arrived there. also ezio's cappadocia outfit is awesome.
I 100% agree. The setting of Constantinople and how refreshing it felt after two games set in Italy was one of the many things I loved about Revelations.
So far I think I have liked Syndicate the most. Ziplining around London was a blast and I really liked a lot of the side characters. The Twins never bothered me ether. They felt like two young people who were born into the assassin life style so naturally they might not be the best or even take it all as seriously as others since its something they are just familiar with. But then they get to grow and see that what they are doing actually matters and has impact. The side but were we get to travel to world war 2 was also great and makes me want a game completely in that setting as we get to kill templar nazis with Winston Churchill.

I love syndicate. I think my favorite is either brotherhood or syndicate. Syndicate did things so well. It actually had a stealth system, smooth parkour in which a zip line opened up so many different possibilities, decent combat that is still fun (the cane sword is the best), has classic ac tools like poison dart, smoke bombs, throwing knife, hand gun. + it has the ability to kidnap enemies, carriages with fun carriage combat, a good map, 2 solid main characters. It checks so many boxes, same with brotherhood, that they are top 1-5 in the series.

Agreed. They’re my favourite protagonists so far (I’ve played every game up to Syndicate), along with my favourite antagonist (with Haytham a very close second). Jacob can be a bit much, but I like the sarcastic tone tbh. There’s no need to be so boring and serious all the time, as much as I also loved that about Conner. The only problem I have with Syndicate is the free running/parkour system. Why they didn’t just keep the same one from Unity shocks me. Also, free running around London is just difficult without using the rope launcher constantly, which was frustrating. Although, I did enjoy using the rope launcher in missions. I also enjoyed the fast-paced, unrealistic combat. I do miss the AC3 combat animations still, tho.
To this day I am still enamored with Brotherhood. The soundtrack, destroying Borgia towers, toppling Cesare's resources and making him run shouting "guards, guards!". The characters are all great and the game and Rome feel so alive.

Ubisoft is in a better shape than 6-7 years ago when they were releasing the same AC over and over again. The fact they are taking 2 years instead of 1 between each games shows that they are privileging quality over quantity.
Our opinion towards the latest AC might change over time like it did with Unity, Revelation & AC3.

When looking back at the original AC game, I actually admired how they tried to go the route of taking out a target by attaining information and then choosing how to go about it. I don't think I would have minded seeing more of this Hitman-esque type of strategy more in the later games. EDIT: And aww yeah, AC:B was the very first one I played.
AC Black Flag will always be my favorite I remember watching this game as a kid wanting it so bad and when I was finally able to get it for like 6 bucks the magic became real I felt like a swashbuckling badass with some deadly skills and agility
After Odyssey… Valhalla honestly was a very VERY tall glass of cool clear thirst quenching water… yeah it’s not as good as Black Flag but it was a decent game…

I think the perfect Assassin's Creed game would consist of the core elements of the following games:
Brotherhood: combat, assassin guild/recruit system, economy
Assassin's Creed III: stealth (refined)
Unity: parkour, setting, game world
The game could finally take place in Japan and should focus more on the Assassin aspect.
The story should also focus more on the Assassin part and could give more insight into the organization of the Assassin's Guild.
As example: An armor set from Ezio (who went to Japan on one of his travels) and just pieces of a tale on how a Legend in the Name of Ezio gave the Brotherhood one of its pieces. And you can find more pieces of the set in the world. I mean you have all this lore on the guild and yet the new games are shoving the part Assassin fully aside.
For me this would be the game of my dreams.

Assassin's creed with Ninjas and Shinobi's that would be cool! Huge crowds and busy streets, Many rooftops and crowded buildings similar to unity! Sounds badass
Why not Unity's stealth as well? I genuinely never used smoke bombs until Unity where you can both throw it straight to your feet and throw it further away, the ability of having access to both of your ranged weapon and tools is nothing short of genius. If it's just more polished, make cover less sticky, turn fireworks into a sound based tool rather than line of sight, and improve some AI behavior, I can see it being the best stealth system the series ever has.
Also you can crouch whenever you want and there's hundreds of crowds on the street to easily blends into. Really sold the "hide in plain sight" assassin fantasy for me (in the other games except AC1 and AC4, I just can't believe the other protagonists would blend in the crowd at all with their unusual outfits and some having too much muscle mass).
Maybe even add Syndicate's rope shotter (idk the actual name) and some good maping from the other AC's.
Tbf I don't think it would work on japan I get what your saying but the Japanese served with so much honour they wouldn't assassinate they would announce they're arrival which isn't what I'd see for a game like this
I would also use some of the combat mechanics from unity, it has a really cool and smooth fight System

@@Based1889 “nothing to do after you finish the game.” All of the free dead kings dlc, trying to get all of the gear, the enigmas, co op missions, earning the platinum trophy, getting full synchronization on all main story levels, getting all cockades, side missions. Wdym nothing to do after finishing the game? There is so much to do. If your talking about nothing to do after you 100% the game then yeah sure not that much to do but then again the same could be said for like thousands of other games. Take marvels Spider-Man for example, I got the platinum and 100% everything including the dlc, there is nothing to do afterwards. Same could be said with miles morales, nothing to do after getting 100%, although I almost got the platinum I just stopped playing it a while ago. Same could be said with a lot of games since there’s not much to do with any game after 100%.

What made odyssey and Valhalla so good for me was that I love the mythology and style behind them. The intriguing mystery behind Greeks, and the pure badassery behind the vikings. AC 2 and 1 are by far my favorite story wise and gameplay
I cannot describe which feeling Edward gives me, AC4 brought me into the series and I still love the game today and would it put almost at the top, I have to admit that Ezio is the form of Assassin I would like to be if I could.

The ezio trilogy is genuinely peak storytelling. EVERYTHING in those games is absolutely amazing. I mean Ezios family literally became the theme for assassin's creed and that's for good reason. But just a story about a man who loses everything he has in the name of an order just to find out that the message he received was for someone else. That he was a middle man between what was a mystery and the person who would solve it (That being Desmond) and him finally understanding that the answer was never his to find. It's tragic and he knows that yet he chooses to look forward and continue pushing to save the creed. He is one of gaming's greatest protagonists

Origins is one of the most enjoyable games I’ve ever played in 8 years of PC gaming!
I genuinely love the story, characters and the freedom, some side quests are so detailed and feel like you’re really in that world since they sometimes connect to the main story!
The weapon system and fight mechanics are pretty awesome.
Mounts are kinda bugging but that’s fine since you can fast travel almost everywhere!
I could go on for pretty long but to sum everything up: I LOVE AC Origins and I recommend everyone to give it a try even not on sale and even FPS players would love this game or non gamers that love Ancient Egypt!
AC4:BF definitely had some of the best writing, dialogue-wise - which made you invest in the characters so much more. Thatch's speech about being the Devil, the vitriolic insults thrown by Vane, the flashes of mutual respect that flicker between Kenway and Adé...

AC3 will always be my favorite, flaws aside. My first AC was AC2 and by the time 3 came out I was so hyped for it, to me it was the most interesting setting yet. My mom got it for me on Christmas and I remember staying up all night playing it, eating Christmas junk food. I remember trying out the multiplayer for the first time and getting totally hooked, it was such a unique experience and I wish they would bring it back.

Brotherhood was my absolute favorite, no question. With the counter-kills, it was a bit of an easy game, but those kill animations were great. 😊 I recently started playing the game all over again.

Just played 1,2 brotherhood and rev. I honestly forgot how good brotherhood was, the assasin training and property buying was so fun but to see a main character grow over a trilogy in such a way was a page many writers should look at. Just wow. Best trilogy ever, right next to mass effect(excluding ending)
Revelations was my first AC , and to this day it's definitely in my top five. Yeah the tower defense got kinda annoying, but between the hookblade, the story, and everything else the game has, I can't not love it.
hookblade was and is always going to be my favourite blade. Its versatility was amazing and i love how ezio used it in so many more ways than what he was taught. ive also played all the games but started with number 2, still amazing games to this day

The thing I loved about this game series is that everyone can find enjoyment from a different one, there’s someone out there that believes each and every one of these really is the best!
Odyssey is a masterpiece, it just wasn't a good assassins creed game, but even so I adored it and I really felt myself engaged in the ancient greek setting that it presented us. And I totally agree with number 1, brotherhood is indeed a remarkable game that deserves the top spot.

@@JoaoPereira-jo7jv It's quite ludicrous to see how you talk about negatives without mentioning the positive aspects of it as well. And bad writing is a new argument from you lot. The plot of this game is actually very well written and most people think the same (even those who dislike the game in general), but you seem to be an exception on this one. Also, the game is not repetitive at all. There are always entertaining and alternative ways to complete missions/objectives. There are also the mythological creatures who are very nice to fight against and can put up a challenge even at normal difficulty. Your actions and decisions for example influence the game at both long and short periods which gives it a lot of immersion. Some RPG elements of the game are utter trash, on that I agree, but the game isn't repetitive at all, quite on the contrary it's immersive and has a giant and beautifully well designed map.
@@Daniel-vg8fk Yes, writing is awful. Modern-day is an absolute cringefest and ancient greeks talk like they live in Disneyland instead of a ruthless world. If that's good writing for everyone, then it's obvious why games are getting worst each year story-wise.
Alternative ways!? That's what u had before with the unique social stealth, which is completely absent... Before u could use courtesans/thieves to distract guards, throw money into the ground to cause a mess with the population, etc.
The decision-taking is dumb af and goes against one of the essences of AC, which is to discover the past. When u go into the animus the purpose is to witness the life of someone long gone in the perspective of the world they lived and how they saw it and how their background influenced it.
The world map, yes it is beautiful and huge, but all u do is walk long distances and dumb parkour. They could create awesome level design with some tree parkour like in AC3 with some innovative moves, making awesome parkour playgrounds connecting trees, caves and cities altogether with innovative parkour moves. But nooooo, that is too much fun and ppl won't buy exp boosts if they're having fun duuh. Instead, make them watch the same stupid animations while they walk forward picking the same trees and rocks because that's what fun is about amirite!?
Really Appreciate the love you provided unity. Sure it was buggy but is now quite playable. Also the story was top notch and I hope Arno makes an appearance in the future. Not a tow the line type protagonist was an assassin in Spirit.
AC3 and Unity are my favorites of the series. It seems like such an odd combination but I absolutely LOVED Connor's story and background and Unity's depth of content. It felt like the developers went and took time to actually understand native American culture and life. I, not being native myself, would never understand if it was truly 100% accurate or not, but by God if it didn't feel like being smacked into the middle of a revolution and of a battle of ideologies. Unity, while the story isn't as great compared to other entries was incredible in my opinion. The only AC Game I have dedicated to 100%-ing being the only game I played for weeks straight. It's side missions were comprehensive and it's DLC story was great. The ability to choose how you complete missions like the Cathedral Assassination box mission was a great opportunity to let the player choose their path. Its stealth and parkour is almost unrivaled. For a game that came out in 2014 on a BRAND NEW console, I felt that it was one of the most complete ASSASSINS Creed experiences that I have ever had. Cheers for the ranking mate.

I replayed the 3rd AC yesterday and can't believe Connor's story ended so abruptly like that. The whole ending and the end of Desmond was ended so abruptly, felt like it had more to offer but the deadline came
Ac1 is still my favorite for the atmosphere, music, and brutal combat animations. The random templars rushing you and making all the weaker grunts stand back so they can 1v1 you was so fucking cool as a kid.
Same for me. It's nice to see other people giving AC1 the respect it deserves.
I'm replaying AC1 again (for about the 10th time, I Normally play all the games, well 1-Unity once a year) and AC1 & altiair has always been my favorite.

Unity and syndicate were my favs, that engine and formula was the way to go imo.
I'm surprised to hear that cause I thought Origins was a pretty popular one. Never heard anyone talk badly of Bayek as a protag either.

Really interesting. For me, Unity and Origins are also the best of the Series. As Games. Not Story or Setting.
I wanted to love Black Flag so much. But i had no fun with it. And i like this romanticised Pirate Theme a lot. But Gameplaywise it was not for me, I guess. I remember, when AC1 was announced and a lot of us got excited about the Climbing Session. But still, Unity feels like the definitive AC World.
I stopped with AC2 and played most of the rest years later.
It was the same for me. I couldn't have fun with black flag and unity gives such a unique vibe that it has become my favorite
I am a female and I am always looking for any games that I can play as such. I am not a huge fighting fan but I was told about Odyssey and I love it mainly because there is no rush to advance, there is virtually unlimited options, the historical scenery is wonderful and for me, this is my newest favorite game just ahead of Red Dead Online. Just my opinion. 🤷♀️🇺🇸👍
me personally, i think black flag is the best assassin's creed game mainly because of the pirate thing. But is odyssey really that good? i've only seen clips where odyssey doesn't really sold me (Assasination sometimes doesn't kill a person) because of the rpg-like system. But at the same time, i love rpg's (witcher 3 is my favourite game). I know this is your favourite game and i know you're gonna recommend me this game anyway, but can you point out the things you love about this game?

I love this list particularly because of how positive you remain even on the lowest entry.
For me, Unity is my favorite, and you nailed many of the reasons why, but the parkour deserves recognition too; it's *perfect,* with a high skill ceiling and beautifully flashy yet elegant animations that convey lethality and ability that, while naturally superhuman, don't fly in the face of believability in the moment. Bugs aside, traversing Paris remains my favorite act in Assassin's Creed by a huge margin, and I hope that one day, we'll return to city-focused AC games again.

When I first got my ps4, unity was one of the first games I played, along with bo3, the nostalgia hits every time and the idea of a multiplayer AC game was amazing.

Seeing you put Unity as the second greatest AC game is amazing! this has been one of my favorites since it came out. People still cite the bugginess as to why it was so bad and they were cleaned up fast. Play it today and you'll love it!
I mean it is still incredibly buggy but at least now it runs with way more stable fps. I only played a few missions but witnessed a dude getting launched in the air, that alerted the guards and I got detected. But the game does look like it launched yesterday so I shouldn't complain haha.
I personally enjoyed the weapon/armor system they were going for, it made for some unique combat encounters and challenged players into focuses on a specific roles and the 4 player coop emphasizes that. It also seemed to give each items its own character. if only it didn’t launch buggy it definitely could have lead the franchise differently
Yeah! I play it and honesltly its just great. I havent played many ac games but i can say i like ac unity more than origins for now (judt started origins but i just dont feel the vibe. It isnt ment to be that realistic but i like relism so yeah
MoonBoom v2.0 never got a single bug in my playthrough last year

You're one of the few like me who appreciates Unity. It was easily the most ambitious game. The crowd sizes were amazing. It's such a disappointment that it launched so buggy
Basim has the potential to be main character like ezio that can captivate the audience… All the need is parkour from unity, stealth from syndicate, a strong city setting the feels like best parts of all the best cities and to take the best parts of the combat and storytelling from what the people liked and disliked from the past and they have a base to build off as the continue forward. Hopefully Ubi keeps their promise and alternates between the big open world and the smaller old school games and nail the Japanese open world setting after mirage

I started with Brotherhood, and it is still my favorite to this day. It mixed so much of stuff I enjoy into one game, and did it well. I'm still struggling my way through the newer games after , but I can always go back and enjoy Brotherhood or Black Flag.
Rogue was my introduction to this series, and I'm not so blinded by nostalgia or how I feel about it that I can't see why people might not like it. It can be clunky, and the story is pretty short. But I still love it, like I love the Ezio Collection, Black Flag and Unity

Hate it when someone says that Rogue must suck because the mc is a Templar. Rogue completes the american trilogy and it used elements from the 3 and Black Flag to create it's own identity. Shay is a badass and the ending still gives me chills.
To me, Odyssey is the best AC by far. I completed every single interrogation point in that game, literally consumed everything the game had to offer. It feels like an adventure and I'll never forget The Eagle Bearer. I played Odyssey when I was in Highschool learning about Socrates, so that may have played a part.

AC Origins is one of my favorite games of all time. The best world I’ve ever played in, they nailed ancient Egypt. Masterpiece of a game one of the greatest open world games. Great story and great characters.
So I love origins, mainly because of how bayek acts. Bayek is the kind of guy who would stop to play ball with a kid then just go on his way. Also the graphics are amazing for my standards. And I like a kind of grindy game that makes you work hard for levels, makes you do side quests to get things. And I also love the story of it all, khemu is the reason he did it all,the people of siwa too, I love the gods they have in this and it makes you feel like your truly a shadow because of the Hidden Ones, it's overall the perfect game for me because I also love Egyptian settings, I loved the idea of the desert since I was pretty tiny

AC Origins was the first of it’s kind that I played, so my connection with Bayek is really strong and I still love it the most, from the ones I have played, the atmosphere is just amazing.

Unity was what got me into the series, as soon as I saw all the bad reviews, I was very surprised, I have barely ever had bugs happen to me. Unity is criminally underrated.
