The animation during the credits is pretty decent for the early/mid ninties. I would happily have watched a TV series of sonic if it had been of that quality! Accompanied by THAT music, of course.
Basically, Sonic CD takes places on a planet that appears for one month every year called Little Planet (Miracle Planet) near a place called Never Lake. Time flows freely on Little Planet and the scenery on it can change within mere moments. However when Sonic gets there he sees that the planet looks like a giant sheet of metal, so he goes in and see what's going on. Normally since nothing controls the planet, the future would be all cool and whatnot.
Not sure that I'd call a place with hidden spike traps and giant spinning buzz saws utopia. God damn, though, this game does have some of the chillest music I've ever heard in a video game.
The Good future theme, it's pretty heavenly, considering what the bad future is. For act 3's bad future, the place looks like a dank/dark/dirty dungeon, while the good future looks like one giant utopia.
Without counting the obvious signs of the place being abandoned, with broken and rusty machinery around. Actually, I think that the bad future is basically the result of Robotnik having fully explored the zone and letting it rot with time.
Thanks, friend, you helped out alot. I began a new game as tails after beating this as Sonic with all Time Stones, to find out achievements are locked as Tails, so I started another Sonic one for the run. I got this and the Heavy Metal achievement in the same game, now all I literally need is the time attack one.
I see, thanks for that. I had no idea, and I also know that it's not because some folks didn't like the lyrics, I only knew that they were trying to avoid some type of trouble. But thanks for the info on the reason.
@ThingsGotReal It's actually an external capture card, the hd pvr. There's an internal version called the happauge colossus which uses hdmi cables. The one I use is connected through component cables.
I saved the last time stone for metallic madness act 2 that way I got it and the savior of the planet achievement at the same time. If not you'll need to go through the game again since getting all of the time stones creates a permanent good future.
@Desilent49 I just got "Savior of the Planet" achievement. thanks for telling me not collect all the time stones. Its not really a big problem doing this from the beginning again plus this is my fourth playthrough and the 2nd (tails) and 3rd (Sonic) playthrough with the Sonic CD map guide from soniczero website was very helpful to.
@Desilent49 Thanks for the help man. Now I have to go back to the start and redo all the levels again since three of my save files are at the final zones XD. Also getting each time stone is easy in the 360 versions compared to the MegaCD and Sonic Compilation versions because if you have less than 10 seconds you can pause the game, go to main menu then reload your save data from the special stage to get the time stones more easier. so far done about 3 playthroughs one with tails for fun.
@xRocketzFighterx Yes it does, you either have to get all of the robot transporters and metal sonic holograms without getting all of the time stones, or save the last time stone for Metallic Madness act 2. Getting all of the time stones beforehand will prevent you from getting the planet savior achievement since getting all of the time stones automatically destroys them. Sonic needs to physically destroy the robot transporters for the achievement to count.
In my opinion here as special stages in Sonic CD should be: 1 Special Stage - 3 Special Stage 2 Special Stage - 1 Special Stage 3 Special Stage - 2 Special Stage 4 Special Stage - 4 Special Stage 5 Special Stage - 6 Special Stage 6 Special Stage - 7 Special Stage 7 Special Stage - 5 Special Stage
Yeah it's pretty much the reason I did this playthrough, I missed out on 2 achievements (king of rings and just in time, which are now separate videos). Basically I did this as a near 100% playthrough.
However our friendly neighborhood doctor took control of the past, making the future of every part of the planet an absolute disaster. Normally in other Sonic games the bad stuff comes if you don't do anything near the end of the game. but for Sonic CD the bad results are there from the start, though you can make a better future out of it by ridding the past of the machines that corrupt it, or collecting the 7 times stones.
final boss with laser on the sides*lol* for what are the time stones....i played this game so much i don't know what this things are. you are so good,the best gameplay of sonic cd,thanks for it. sorry for bad english.
Yeah, if u guys are going for the "Saviour of the Planet" make sure u dont collect all the timestones...just fall short like Desilent49 did...if u do collect them all, the achievement/trophy will glitch out on u because once u collect all timestones it automatically destroys all robot teleporters which glitches out the achievement for some odd reason...and play as sonic, tails cant unlock any
@Danny9000 I actually don't, and I have them all unlocked too =P Although if I remember right, some of them are unlocked from the time attack. Your time attack total needs to be under 25 minutes, and then the special stage time attack total needs to be under 5 minutes for one thing and 4 to unlock another.
So that's why I couldn't find any holograms there! One question: How did you get a good future in act 3? I got all the time stones and good futures on all the other levels, but I still got a bad future in act 3.
Correct.I got the PC one,and it's right there.Maybe the didn't want to change the gameplay or the chrous wasn't implying her(but it could be wrong,is part of the song)
@SonicAdvance890 It's pretty good, though the Windows phone version of Sonic CD will have some extra fixes since another company handles the port to the 360 and PC.
@theflyingkitty13 :\ hmm, I thought about, but not 100% sure. I mainly did this for all of the achievement you do for the main game. But I'll give it some thought.
Why wouldn't they? To be fair some people didn't like the lyrics, now they have a version they can like. Also lyrics were removed due to some type of circumstance, don't know what the exact reason is though.
I know, I was trying to be cool and hit in between the teeny tiny pixels to hit him, which I failed at and made it up in the time attack achievement video.
The final boss background is confusing me. As far as I remember usually there's a big machiney thing that appears in both Bad and Good Futures. Does it appear only in Bad Future, or is it gone for another reason?
I just literally got this game. What's good future and bad future? And these signs that also say Past and when I walk past 'em it flips over and it's backwards? I don't get it xD. I know there's some sort of achievement for it that I wanna get but I dunno what it even means or how to get it.
I don't know who's Casey Rankin, but Keiko Utoku died already. They believed it would be disonarable to use her voice like that, without any consempt. So, they decided to make instrumental versions instead.
I basicly relied on time travel when playing as Tails, I decided to screw the Time Stones cuz when I first played the game, I collected all the time stones, Got to Metallic Madness and suddenly BAD FUTURE. So yeah...
I got all the time stones before I was able to locate every single metal sonic hologram and robot transporter by the time I got to speed highway all the robot transporters were destroyed, I still had to and did destroyed every single metal sonic hologram but I've some how still missed the achievement and I used a guide. Does collecting all 7 time stones void you of getting the "Planet Savior" achievement?
It was due to licensing disputes between the artist of the song and the studio, why pay a shit ton of cash for the version with the lyrics when i can pay less for the karaoke version. Sadly we dont get the one with the lyrics but we get Sonic Boom if you play US audio
when I eneter Metallic Madness (and act 2 of stardust zone) the robot generators all already broker. I got all the holograms, but i dont get the achievement. is it because i got all the times stones, or did i do something wrong?
As far i'm aware it was simply a legal issue, Casey died and he owned the rights to the lyrics. Sega couldn't easily get the rights so they just used an instrumental version. And Keiko Utoku isn't dead.
LOL at 5:02 to 5:04. @alvieao2: It's ironic that those soundtracks aren't on the game, yet they're on the "Sonic The Hedgehog CD Original Soundtrack 20th Anniversary Edition" CD that's currently being distributed out in Japan. Lame.
@MortalKombatFan47 It's because you got all of the time stones, Sonic has to physically break the machines and the time stones wreck them. Which prevents you from getting the achievement, in this play through I saved the last time stone for metallic madness zone/act 2.
The animation during the credits is pretty decent for the early/mid ninties. I would happily have watched a TV series of sonic if it had been of that quality!
Accompanied by THAT music, of course.
Nortic111 same
Nortic111 that was the remake animation, the original wasn't that good
It was Toei I think so it makes sense

Really appreciate the help for finding the teleporters and M-Sonic holograms!
5:01 was hilarious LOL.

Good ending: Little planet farts out pixie dust
Bad ending: Blow up Eggman with a rock
Good ending not worth it confirmed
😂😂
you mean the true ending
05:02 oh wow they're awwing Tiny Sonic
Wow
I see, thanks for that. I had no idea, and I also know that it's not because some folks didn't like the lyrics, I only knew that they were trying to avoid some type of trouble.
But thanks for the info on the reason.
Desilent49 is the definition of a true pro
Aw, I'm not that great : o
I really appreciate it.
@ThingsGotReal
It's actually an external capture card, the hd pvr. There's an internal version called the happauge colossus which uses hdmi cables. The one I use is connected through component cables.
I love the "awww..." with mini sonic XD
5:04 Awwww...
3DSMarioSonicFun YoshiWarrior iii
A hidden picture and in one of the sound tests called "D.A. Garden".
I saved the last time stone for metallic madness act 2 that way I got it and the savior of the planet achievement at the same time. If not you'll need to go through the game again since getting all of the time stones creates a permanent good future.
Even the bumpers like the good future theme so much they keep time with it.
@Desilent49
I just got "Savior of the Planet" achievement. thanks for telling me not collect all the time stones.

11:36 LOL DR EGGMAN GOT SERVED! 😂😂😂
By the way that is the of the achievement you get
Lol im glad i looked in the description to find out about the Awwwwww when sonic was tiny
@Desilent49
Thanks for the help man.

it must mean the episode 2!
He is the best person ever!!!👍🏻
love the ending song ^^

3 Special Stage - 2 Special Stage

The fifth one is a bitch to beat.
the one on acid is hell
Welcome to Dr. Robotnik's (Dr. Eggman) base of operations, where you'll see badniks, hazards, and crazy obstacles.
Benny Moonwalker... and a D-pad as the boss
Apenas um UA-camr oh yes. The d pad
13:39 0_o"
the 2 robots... ummm
I dont wanna say it xd
5:00 Little Sonic??
@Armidillodude
When/if I get around to making the Tails playthrough, it'll be something much different than "awwwww" :3
Even surprinsingly,the JPN stage clear jingle is part of the song.
When people ask me why i like Jazz and lounge music, i always say "sonic the fucking hedgehog"
Yeah it's pretty much the reason I did this playthrough, I missed out on 2 achievements (king of rings and just in time, which are now separate videos).
Basically I did this as a near 100% playthrough.
No problem, the time attack one shouldn't be too difficult though.
However our friendly neighborhood doctor took control of the past, making the future of every part of the planet an absolute disaster. For the achievement, you need to destroy every robot generator/teleporter and Metal Sonic holograms, which I show in my walkthrough.
final boss with laser on the sides*lol*
for what are the time stones....i played this game so much i don't know what this things are.
you are so good,the best gameplay of sonic cd,thanks for it.

My best friend would hug you for that.

@theblehedgehog Unlocking Achievements are disabled when playing as Tails.
Correct.I got the PC one,and it's right there.Maybe the didn't want to change the gameplay or the chrous wasn't implying her(but it could be wrong,is part of the song)
@SonicAdvance890
It's pretty good, though the Windows phone version of Sonic CD will have some extra fixes since another company handles the port to the 360 and PC.
@theflyingkitty13 :\ hmm, I thought about, but not 100% sure. I mainly did this for all of the achievement you do for the main game. But I'll give it some thought.
Hey thanks man this really helped me out a lot. By the way, do you know how to unlock the "extras" in the main menu?? I'm not sure how to unlock them.
@SonicAdvance890
Buy it online through the online store on xbox live.
5:02
my sentiments exactly,d'aaaaaww lil' Sonic :3
@Desilent49
oh btw you get a like for adding the "awww" sound effect.
I actually found it pretty cute to XD
Act 3: Orchestra hits much? Seriously though, that's actually my favourite tune in the game
(Sonic turns into mini)
Auditory:How Cute!!!
@krackerkid5 Yup. Seems like a Tidal Tempest enemy.
Daww for tiny Sonic, I used a fan girl scream for Tails :3
The final boss background is confusing me. As far as I remember usually there's a big machiney thing that appears in both Bad and Good Futures. Does it appear only in Bad Future, or is it gone for another reason?
I guess it would make sense that there are no holograms since you beat Metal Sonic in a race and then proceeded to blow up in Stardust Speedway
@shenryo2
You must've gotten the Times Stones b4 destroyin all The Robot Generators. Did you?
I just literally got this game. What's good future and bad future? And these signs that also say Past and when I walk past 'em it flips over and it's backwards? I don't get it xD. I know there's some sort of achievement for it that I wanna get but I dunno what it even means or how to get it.
@slizzyeaton
something wrong?
why did they make a instrumental remix of cosmic eternity
that badnik from 13:00..... was he cut from the game?
Those last 2 screens appear by getting the good ending AKA destroy all generators right?
Why do sonic and Amy have ball hands in sonic cd animations?
@theblehedgehog
Where did the game save before you turned it off?
for some reason the trophy didnt pop for me now I have to do it all over again
I like the music
I don't know who's Casey Rankin, but Keiko Utoku died already. They believed it would be disonarable to use her voice like that, without any consempt. So, they decided to make instrumental versions instead.
I actually like the instrumental version of "you can do anything" better than the version with lyrics lol
the past sounds like sonic put on metal marios hat.
are you going to do a tails walk through?
12:22. I luv that end song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish it extended
I basicly relied on time travel when playing as Tails, I decided to screw the Time Stones cuz when I first played the game, I collected all the time stones, Got to Metallic Madness and suddenly BAD FUTURE. So yeah...
Having a bad future with all of time stones in this version randomly occurs sometimes. Don't know why, but you still should get the good ending.
I know, but the feeling was odd...
I fixed this mistake in my Tails playthrough, No time stones, Just constant time travel :/
The "yes" sound? It's from the game itself.
Awwww FUCKIN TINY SANIC
7:10 WEEEEEEEE
okaoklenny OH HI KIRBY
@shenryo2
Were you playing as Tails?
@theblehedgehog
There's your problem, you can't get any achievement as Tails. It has to be done as Sonic.
@Desilent49 thank you very much
Lol 5:03 aww
I thought it was Casey Rankin who died? As far as I'm aware he owned the rights to the music.
@gridhacker That or get all of the Time Stones.
Yeah that happened to a few people, it's some sort of glitch :U
@Sonicthemainhedgehog
To make it easier, post it as a video response.
I didnt get the achievement. If I start a new game, can I just brake the machines in Metallic madness or do I have to brake all of them again?
Well at least I could always turn the volume down on my Xbox during the ending and play the lyrics version from my Ipod
As far i'm aware it was simply a legal issue, Casey died and he owned the rights to the lyrics. Sega couldn't easily get the rights so they just used an instrumental version. And Keiko Utoku isn't dead.
Then why am I finding several people claimming Keiku Otoku is dead? Where were they getting this idea from ?
3:51he stopped
I know right?! I swear that time travel was frame perfect!
LOL at 5:02 to 5:04.
@alvieao2:
It's ironic that those soundtracks aren't on the game, yet they're on the "Sonic The Hedgehog CD Original Soundtrack 20th Anniversary Edition" CD that's currently being distributed out in Japan.
Lame.
Yeah, I knew that...wait, they didn't change it ?
@MortalKombatFan47
It's because you got all of the time stones, Sonic has to physically break the machines and the time stones wreck them. Which prevents you from getting the achievement, in this play through I saved the last time stone for metallic madness zone/act 2.
It's a Mini-Sonic!
Ok i got all the time stones so apparently I don't get the achievement for destroying all of them and I only needed 2 more generators :/
5:01 actuly kinda scared me lol
I Love Sonic CD sonic cd is the Best game ever! for MY XBOX 360 and PS3😁😆😇😉😁😀🎮👍✔✅
07:06 Sonic Speed!!!
