Making friends at an older age has been a joy and a blessing to my soul!! I'm 52 and have developed kind supportive friendships that make me a better person, a better friend. I think I am wiser from experience and comfortable with who i am and that helps when you let people into your personal spaces. At this age, we respect our limitations and our boundaries. We have learned to uplift rather than judge, and offer considerations rather than judgements. We have learned to be silent and JUST listen. We pick up where we left off..from 2 days or 2 weeks ago. I've been really blessed. Enjoy your new friendships!

Not me dancing to the cute intro music 🎵 🎶 😂 I have a 21 year old who is in college in a different state and the empty nest syndrome is a real thing. The adjustment to not having my life revolve around my child was hard. I am in my forties and I’m now focusing on creating new friendships and beautiful experiences.
Since I'm a fresh flower/live plants gurl and usually dont like plastic; these are very nice👍🏾👏🏾. I may try out the lemon stems for a table at my all white backyard get-together. I have my friend/family squard of 8. Six of them, I became friends in my late 30s/early 40s. I am now 51. They have become my family, and I just adore them. They all bring something wonderful to my life. There were some growing pains with my oldest best friend initially (friends for 30 years). She felt like she was being pushed aside because she was not used to sharing me with others. It's all good now. Also, an empty nester. Our daughter didn't leave until she purchased her home a few years at 28. I was good, but my poor husband was walking around like someone stole his bike and puppy 😂. You will get used to it but it's so nice when they come to visit. Also, be prepared for her to go shopping for all things (soap, dish detergent, soap power, bleach, etc.) 😂😂. My daughter comes in with no bags and leaves with about two or three, lol.
Just stumbled upon your wonderful content, yes it is difficult to make friends especially if you were not raised in the USA, but this channel just made me feel at home... 🧡❤🧡.

Girl, you have me smiling every time! I love it! The friend thing, I can say that I am in a place where I look to healthy, fun and spiritual girl time! Good, positive conversation, brunch fun and travel fun! Friends that are like minded and there is no competing. Celebrating one another always!! I am also an empty nester and cried at times😄 but that’s been some time ago. I will say I was ok until my daughter and right after, my son moved to Texas!! Now I can’t see them on a regular. Makes me sad! But I will say having my place to myself is Great!😁 The only perk! You not by yourself girl!! It’ll be ok after time passes. That’s why having healthy friendships are great for you now. You need those happy times. Make being an empty nester a lil more peaceable.

I feel you on being away from our children. My daughter lives in SC and I'm home in CT. It's not easy being away from her. But she has done so well for herself and most importantly, she's very happy. I do plan on relocating to SC. She actually wants me down there. But I miss her so much. Take one day at a time and visit often!!!

I will say that I just love how open and excited you are to make new friends! 🖤🖤 The excitement that you showed when speaking about connecting with another UA-camr was just so awesome! There are a lot of people in the world who feel like they have their circle and that’s all they need and are not willing to make new friends.
I’ve actually found myself as I’ve gotten older closing out relationships and friendships that no longer serve me from my youth and young adulthood years, and creating/forming newer healthier ones that fit my lifestyle, my goals, my vision and are reciprocal in my 40s. Reciprocal relationships are the name of the game for me at 41!
As far the arrangements they are also pretty and that vase from Hobby lobby is one that I have been looking at over and over but spent too much money the first time, so I’m gonna have to catch it on the sale the next time they have one! My kiddo is a teen, and we're getting closer to young adult and graduating high school, and I'm already stressing about her being away. I've already started picking up some new or renewed hobbies, thinking of things I would like to do once I'm an "empty nester". I'm thankful that i have a good network of friends, but the challenge I have is that I moved out of state years ago but I'm fortunate that I live where everyone wants to visit. I don't get to see my sister-friends as much as I would like, but we make it work. I'll be the first the empty nester in our little group, so I'm planning on a few solo road trips to visit my people after my kiddo moves out.
All that said, your faux floral arrangements look great! I love your enthusiasm.

I cry often… it’s my fault. I was a Stay@Home Mum and literally taught them everything they know. What was I thinking!? 🤣😂🤣
They are now ‘Adulting,’ and are doing life quite well. 😭😭😭 did I mention without Me!!! And for those few and far between moments, I do hear from them via text or on a good month I actually get a call!! 💃💃

I’m loving all your vases. I might try the lemon stems and the cherry blossoms. I’m all about artificial, I don’t have a green thumb. I’m a empty nester as well. I live in Charlotte, my son went to Raleigh, NC to attend NC State University which is about 2 1/2 hours away. When he came out of college he accepted a job in Kansas…He was so excited but I was feeling a little down about his big move. I finally came to the realization that he was prepared and I already knew he was destined for a successful career and he loves traveling. I enjoyed visiting him in Kansas. He eventually decided to come back to Charlotte and my young adult my son is living his BEST LIFE. Your daughter will have an amazing life journey. You have taught her well and she is ready to spread her wings. Enjoy watching her in motion and the wonderful conversations you will have. Best wishes!

I feel the same way. I'm all for positivity. Mean girl actions turn me off immediately and at this age/stage miss me with all that negativity. Making friends has been a challenge; however, I have found when I do make a friend they are better quality/ more meaningful connections. (I'm a young senior 😅 53)

My daughter will be graduating college on May 6th and got a job that will take her an hour and half away for a job opportunity. This will be the first time she will be away from me and living on her own. I’m so happy that she got the job she’s been talking about since middle school but it is very bittersweet. When I called a girlfriend to share about my daughter’s job offer the first thing she said was, what are you going to do with yourself. I’m excited to be an empty nester and look forward to travel and figure out who I am outside of being a mom. Soon it will be me and my doodle fur baby.
