  • Complete coverage of Event 8 from the Men's and Women’s Individual competitions at the 2022 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, TX. Held on Sunday, October 30, “Snatch and Press” featured 3 rounds of the following:
    20 DB Snatch (100 LB men / 70LB women)
    9 Parallette Handstand Push-Ups (4”/2” deficit)
This event proved to be a shake-up for the leaderboard at the beginning of the competition's final day, as Laura Horvath's ongoing struggles with the PHSPU portion of the event opened the door for other women to gain ground, including contenders Annie Thorisdottir and Emma Lawson, as well as dark horses Emma McQuaid and Dani Speegle. Similarly on the men's side, Justin Medeiros's slight struggles in this one shifted the spotlight to athletes like Jayson Hopper and Chandlers Smith, the latter of whom followed his big win in Event 7 with another strong showing here.

Let's be charitable with interpreting Horvath's lack of success with handstand pushups. Her success at other events demonstrate her work ethic. We all have weaknesses and unless you're Mat Fraser, it's hard to improve them.

Why did Rogue focus on Horvath’s failures rather than the other athletes? They literally had the camera on her the whole time while the other athletes were doing work. What a disservice to them and the fans who weren’t Horvath fans. Do better Rogue.

They really should do a better presentation of the movements and their standards. Later watching, you realize that the lock hold is an important thing on the PHSPU (the no-rep on Scott Tetlow's last rep!) while it is overlooked on the DB Snatch (the questionable locks on Roman Khrennikov's snatches).

Let the Russian flag show. Rogue making it black is really turning the tide in the war right? Let Roman be proud of the country the fought with us against the nazis.

Wow, where are all the fans? Could it be that handstand push-ups have nothing to do with fitness? Maybe stop turning off the mainstream audience with weirdo gymnastics 🤷
Aside from the ridiculous gymnastics events, this was a super cool competition!

Maybe no one really cares about Crossfit anymore? I for one have lost interest in it. it's just a ton of people working out. Cool.

@@SF_Native I agree with the comment above yours. It could be improved by getting rid of silly things that seem almost irrelevant to fitness, but based on your comment,I can’t imagine why you clicked this video

@@dutchstallion8518 I clicked it because I was really into it before and decided to check it out. Followed it closely, but now, I just really lost interest in it. I admire and respect the fitness of the athletes, but it can get rather boring watching people workout. But that’s just me. Have a nice day.

I just got into it and yeah, some events drag a bit, but most of the time it's pretty entertaining
