A very good friend of mine said to me "Love is not something you find, it's something you do"
I love that
Yeah, people that cant find love should love themselves then people will love them when that hard work turns to admiration. But alot of times that distaste and disrespect can have a reverberation effect inside the individual. If love is like 2 flames coming together then in order to love, you have to first start with sparking a fire within yourself. Thall shall not kill, thall shall not covet thy neighbors wife and 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (ESV) and Ephesians 5:29-30 (ESV)
Love is a verb.
@@Bori.1776 no its something you are...sexy or not

Love is doing the right thing for someone, even if its hard.
Your words are very much to the point, and I especially needed to hear them. Thank you
No that way of thinking leads to abuse.
@@RAJOHN-ke7mc 100% correct. Love means taking responsibility not passing it on to someone like a child
Perfect 🙏
Yes that’s what I think
"We are not physical beings on a spiritual journey, we are spiritual beings on a physical journey." Now, there is wisdom.
We are physical beings on a physical journey. Spirituality is an emotional attachment to ignorance.
I love the philosophy we are spiritual beings on a physical journey. Yes, that’s wisdom. I felt it in my body and my soul separately. I felt my soul lifted from my body for a second. Wow.. crazy., I’m feeling better knowing this. Thank you for putting this on here. ❤
@Born To Thrive Not Survive! Correct, but that doesn't make those things non-physical. Waves in water are not water, and yet waves are physical processes, not spiritual ones.

Rabbi Simon I am a Catholic but your message always touches my soul; also I really like to watch every new episode Sunday thank you very much!
How do catholics connect the massive wealth of the vatican With yeshua?
Too often love is a transaction. Children raised by an emotionally immature parent learn this lesson early. If you give only to keep them happy and loved, you are doing it for survival. You spend a lifetime giving to others instead of giving to yourself. And you never realize it because to you this is familiar. The blessing in this is you learn to be independent , capable, and strong. The down side is you have to come to a video to find what you missed!
Love is just another way to control somebody.
Unconditonal love is a myth in my opinion.
@@daveross5954 Perhaps unconditional love is something we should give to ourselves Acceptance of who we authentically are..
@@ritahemmerly4224 I am trying but losing a lot of attachments dark night of the soul stuff.
@@daveross5954 Shit I am sorry been 3 yrs in that myself. It does get better, Those that are leaving I found are the ones not celebrating the real me. Best to let them go, holding on only hurts you more.

Love the soul not the body, sacred soul connection ❤
Good grief, *amazing* advice/teaching. And i'm not even Jewish. I have an adopted child who fits this description of a child left insecure because of the detachment at birth (when a baby is abandoned, after "knowing" the birth mother for 9 months, then being torn away, abandoned). She is an amazing girl, loving, successful, etc, but has always had an underlying sadness or insecurity, questions about "why would a woman give up her child?" etc. She loves us, but she still seems puzzled by the question, and some underlying hurt is in there somewhere, i believe. So this hit home. I'm so grateful he/you are teaching this, making people aware of the emotional security every baby/child needs from its mother, and this whole abandonment issue.
I too have a boy I adopted and I couldn't feel more love for him but he feels the same because of rejection from the birth woman. I cannot call her a mother because she's never acted like one and I don't understand her at all. I could never reject my child that way. 😢Very Sad. I feel It from him and I hurt for him. 🫂💖😪
@@debst.george4437 Well those birth moms' loss is our gain and treasure, isn't it. (I don't think my daughter's birth mom could help it, though, in her situation). But an adopted child might always feel some kind of subconscious loss, who knows. Anyway its good that this rabbi talks about this subject and how it can affect an abandoned and/or adopted child.
@@vickielewallen3799 Absolutely!I love him as if I had birthed him . I'll never forsake him. He's such a beautiful person. She has no idea what she's lost . But I still feel for his pain 💔 😔 💖🙏🙌🏻
I was raised by my birth mom, but also have attachment issues. I grew up always feeling like she didn’t love me. For some reason, she never could bond with me, and I apparently felt it. My dad says I would cry every time she held me, so she always just left to my father to take care of. I feel very close to him, but a mother’s love is necessary, and a child can tell when it’s not there. We have a good relationship, but’s more of a friendship now, instead of the deep love I feel for my dad. Sometimes, adoption is the better option. At least your adopted child grew up with a loving parent.
@@lizzyjeanne Sounds like you have a good dad, i'm glad. Well, like this rabbi teaches, even if parents mess up and you dont feel valuable, God created you, and values you very much. He's a good teacher/rabbi.
I have felt shattered & splintered my entire life due to a traumatic childhood. This is the first time I have ever heard anyone talk about it. Thank you, I am subscribing so that I may learn more. This is such a relief to know that I am not alone in this.
LOVE DOES NOT HURT. Betrayal, loss, lies... these things hurt. Not Love.
Love is a certain element of giving more than you receive….When you get beyond yourself you become more, not less. ❤❤❤
This was absolutely perfect and after being married for 29 years I can see that our love as grown from the needy to the transcendent. It hasn’t been easy but we had a lot to learn . Probably still do . Marriage and kids …. Life’s greatest teachers ?? Lol .
Listening to your words every day is like a candle melting an iceberg. Thank you for helping me change to the better. Love you brother❤
I always feel love when I come to this channel. Thank you Rabbi!
For me to love means to view the object as part of the whole. To love something means it is a part of you.
That's pretty "smooth" there Rob
Atonement…. A word I couldn’t get my mind wrapped around until I said it v e r y slowly listen At. One ment
That did it! I agree ! Oneness
Nice 👍🏻
My parents never abandoned me but, different people throughout my life did. Maybe then I shouldn’t feel abandoned and I do. It’s very hard. It’s the jealousy that did it to me. Jealous people of me being more lucky. I turned out emotional that they left me. I’m starting to understand it’s not my problem it’s them and their insecurity not mine. I just was so attached to them because I loved them. I still do.
Give freely or not at all. "Capacity" for this abundance is derived from self-integrity. Our relationships with others are a reflection of the one we have with ourselves. Giving what we need with an expectation of fulfilling reciprocation by another is misguided. Direct those efforts and intentions towards awareness and acceptance of the self (integrity). Abundance is achieved when we are satisfied. Love has no limits. Do not fear "losing" love.
Thank you for this. I am adopted. Without going into my life, I can relate so much.
Mee too! 🫤😔💙
Thank you Rabbi Jacobson

Wish you and everybody here a great day and week!!

I am so grateful for your brilliant soul. The practical, empathic and true message I hear from you every time gives me real human hope . My soul sends you love, gratitude and respect.
This should be taught to those looking for a life partner
What we really suffer from in this life, is our separation from our heavenly Father. We feel that loss and emptiness every day and we fill our lives with sometimes good things and sometimes bad things to fill in the gap. As a child, He gave me "moments" that as I grew older, looking back at those times, pointed out to me that he has always been in my life and continues to this day. I'm so very thankful for what he has done.
For myself coming from a broken dysfunctional home. Never really feeling safe let alone loved. Trusting anyone is nearly impossible for me. So I’ll probably just die alone without anyone. Always enjoy your videos and point of view.
Peace and Serenity
Instead of my usual comments, I'm going to quote two songs about love that I think pretty much say it all: The first one is by a rock group called Sweet and it goes like this (please excuse the paraphrasing): "Love is like oxygen. If you get too much, you get too high. Not enough, and you're going to die." The other is by Crosby, Stills and Nash and it goes like this: "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with." Sometimes you have to make the first move. Only your fear is stopping you.
" NIRVaNA*** meaning Supreme PEACE** * BREATH in*** BREATH out
Appreciated***
Esoteric literature states that Love is an actual cosmic energy, like electricity is: it is integral to cosmos itself. Also, it has a 'gluelike' effect and glues things together - in fact, gravity is the result of Love at the more subtle levels.
Woah.. I never thought about my past addictions in the light of searching for love, for transcendence. So many of your words and teachings bring me many realizations and resolutions to moments in my life that I believed I long ago forgot about (if that makes sense?). Thank you, as always, for your words. Take care 🙂
I greatly appreciate the amount of research that goes into each of your presentations.
Thank Rabbi Simon. Another great video. You're one of the only religious individuals that i listen to as a scholarly source. I really enjoy that you're able to get your messages across without shoving religious undertones down our throats every other sentence. 💙🙏
BEAUTIFUL! Everything you ever say always resonates very deep within my soul.. Thank you . I know I'm not alone. As I have mentioned to you before I feel like I've always been aware of this information and have been on my journey for the confirmation that what I know is the truth .I'm 73 now and now know I've come full circle. Thank you so much.

Thank you soo much for this message dear one
Lovely. Thank You.
Thank you Rabbi, bless you💐
Thank you Rabbi for your videos. They are very healing for me. The man you described that couldn't even pick up on the concept of unconditional love is my mother in a nutshell. She's always been like that. I am currently not able to inhabit the home I live in and having some pretty bad health issues. When I asked her for help in my time of struggle instead of trying to give comfort or help she told me "life is not supposed to be easy."
May God bless you my dear thank you so much for your wisdom 🙏

❤what a fantastic message thank you for sharing this word.
Great Presentation! Educational. Inlighting! Many. Thanks!🎈
This idea of unconditional love means a love that doesn’t change. Ie a love that remains forever in the same unending form. People that say I love u to many multiple partners do not have real love just a form of love at the time
Thank you sow much dear brother ,blessings !!!
Beautiful .💫💜🙏 Thank you Rabbi. May God continue to Bless you.

Thank you Rabbi - timely mesesage. I really appreciated your closing comments, all of us coming coming together to form one flame to be in a higher resonance together. I can think of no better way to start the week!
Human love & romantic love are two different things. It took me a number or years to learn this distinction. Human love is grounded and based within a relatedness shared between people which endures and strengthens over time. The highs & lows of romantic love are based within our projections of each other and this often does not last.
That's not love , that's " infatuation" there is a difference between the two.
@@UnashamedCaliforniagirl in some cases it is although I’m not speaking of infatuation here. What I was speaking on is two people living within their established long standing projections of each other, based within romantic love (which really isn’t love btw), until the illusion of one or both of their projections shatter; and then one or both people break up, separate, or divorce, etc. There are long standing marriages built upon projections which have nothing to do with infatuation. So there is a difference between romantic love & human love. The unfortunate thing in this day & age is that most people don’t know the difference between the two. There is a great book on the subject, “WE: understanding the psychology of romantic love,” by Robert Johnson.
Thank you rabbi, this was so deep and meaningful I had to stop listening and take a break a few times.
Thank you for such deep heart touching words thank you for sharing your wisdom with us and like always I'm crying crying and crying thank you very much❤
Thank you so very much
Hi Rabbi Simon. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful truth. You are truly a beautiful soul. God bless you 🙏 ❤
Forgiveness is Love..one of the hardest..but it will save you from massive pain. 😊❤
There are people I don't forgive because they don't deserve it. I'm not in pain
I appreciate your wisdom and willingness to share it with us. I’ve been questioning the existence of love now these past couple years and now I feel seen and heard by your kind words. Thank you Rabbi. 🕯️
Very well-done descriptions of narcissicism and the underpinnings of Hollywood. These and many other things bear repeating. Thank you so much!
I always love to listen to your wonderful wisdom. Thank you for bring sanity to an insane world.❤
So love is the journey UP the ladder... From the bottom to the top!
Thank you 😊 Amen 💯
Thank you, Rabbi. Your talks always warm my heart. Occasionally, when I'm not able to totally focus on the video, I will play one of your talks. while I'm doing other chores or tasks and even when I can't make out what you are saying, over the rest of the household noise, it still makes me smile because I know that on some level, I'm receiving pure auditory positivity, like essential oils for your eardrums 😉 I believe that your message comes through the speakers like medicine for the soul. We are all but conduits for a higher powers grace to manifest on this earth before us. You, sir, are a powerful conduit, indeed. The talk always leaves me inspired. Of course I always go back and make sure to hear it all clearly. ;)
Thank you for your videos. I find them so interesting and insightful. I am pagan yet I find your messages inclusive. ❤😊❤
Speaking of which… I do *love* these deep conversations with Rabbi Jacobson. Much appreciated Rabbi.
