I've traveled the I90 from Missoula to Spokane many times in my life both as a child and an adult. While I''m origionally from Missoula, my grandparents lived in Kellogg along with extended family. The majority worked for & retired from Bunker Hill in one capacity or another. Thanks for the visual trip down memory lane.
I am 80 miles from Wallace but have never stopped on my way east to Missoula. I'll make time to stop next time. Thx! I've been to Coeur d' Alene many times. Beautiful but too commercial ☹️
know the place well! was born near there, lol. some of my old stomping grounds. the tiny town of Murray (which can be reached from Wallace) my great uncle used to own the Bar/Museum there containing large dioramas and (last i knew) a working calliope! it also boasts the longest continuous wooden chain in the world carved by that same great uncle. my dad was in that mine when the fire happened, 1972, he started logging after that. he lost a lot of friends that day.
Sounds like a fun trip!
It was. I just love road trips.

Yes, I agree. We did take a nice walk by the lake in a more deserted area.

I can't imagine the loss he must have felt.
