The Fall Of Three 6 Mafia! The Most Influential Southern Group In Hip Hop Stunted Growth Music

  • Опубліковано 31 січ 2023
  • Today’s feature is a hip hop rap group that initially formed in the early 90s, and throughout the decade added more and more members as time went on. Their influence along with their music has lasted the test of time, as you can still hear that sound in modern artist like Travis Scott, Asap Rocky, Maxo Kream, and more. Even producers like Metro Boomin has given credit to the Memphis group for helping shape the artist he’s become. The thing about 3 6 Mafia was although they may have not been your parents favorite musicians, or a bad influence to the impressionable, they were if nothing else, different. To this day I haven’t seen anything quite like triple 6. 3 6 mafia had a great run, even in 2006 winning an academy award, the first rap group to ever do so, becoming a group that still recognizable in hip hop 30 years later. But over the years drug use, internal grievances, ego, money and even death has all gotten in the way of 3 6 really becoming what they could’ve as artist. Legendary group, but for these reasons their Growth was Stunted. The Fall Of Three 6 Mafia! The Most Influential Southern Group In Hip Hop Stunted Growth Music

Everything you hear now can either be traced back to Three 6 Mafia, or Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. People caught onto Three 6 late. Like *REALLY* late. By the time people caught on they were pretty much over as a group. Also (like Bone Thugs) they changed their style DRASTICALLY. Then like you said they had all of the internal drama, drugs and deaths. The list of Hip-Hop groups are ever shrinking, which is sad AF, but i guess thats another topic to have.

@@A_Dubb618 well I and other members of the 3 6 community loved it - Paul and SGP killed it, Boo, Koop, Paul and Lord were spitting bars, and the festures from Bone, Yelawolf and 8ball & MJG added spice to the album.
Hell, I'd argue that mixtape was Top 5 Hip Hop albums of 2013

Mane can't lie. The group was far from stunted. Matter of fact this group literally sold gold & platinum, had they own label, sub groups, & majority of the members where able to have a name despite certain discrepancies. (Before the Oscar mind you)
Also lil wyte & project pat were not member of the six but hypnotized camp posse. This group literally started in 89 really...
Shout out to all og Memphis music, playa fly, criminal maane, princess loko, Tommy Wright the III, dj squeeky, dj Spanish fly, dj Zirk. Etc mane I'm 31 but I know my history. No hate on your content. It's just they weren't "stunted" at all.
