You're fairly getting through the restoration of the machine. I tend to just replace the tension spring completely I always find the scrappy machines I buy that it's fatigued. Great to see it looking well.

It's one of those jobs we have to do now and then. I think of it as a labour of love, my 66 treadle looks after me so it's up to me to look after her. Every time I see those perfect stitches it just makes me smile, and Sylvia, my machine, just carries on happily.

You are doing a wonderful job restoring. I will continue restoring the cabinet. Its just veneers and no rot wood please do it . This is a restoration series lets go for it . If I an using alcohol near the machine I add and extra layers of protection . Plastic first then paper towel and keep the alcohol away. Some how I manage to spill alcohol near the machine 😅😅 . No bueno 😂😅

I would get a new cabinet--they are offered on next door sometimes and now and then at garage sales. Your's looks like the veneer is toast. So much labor for something that is still available often for a cheap price. I have a 201-2 that I need to clean the tension area. Thanks for the tutorial!

Very good video but I would rather listen to your voice for instructions then reading and trying to see what you are doing at the same time…Thank you :)

Noted. Although sometimes, due to the fact I film in the main entry way to my home... using the sound isn't always as easy as it should be. But I will try to resolve my technical issues for future videos. Thanks for watching!

I understand… You do such a good job at showing really well what your hands are doing that I dont want to miss anything :)

Nice job with the video. Good camera and lighting work. Heck, remove the venire and glue down some new. It would be interesting to watch the process, but I couldn't blame you if you just sprung for a different table.
