What about using a JDM efi fuel tank? Those are still available as new from Toyota. There is some modification needed to the fuel return line for a USDM GT-S, I think?
@@DoctoredGarage Yeah, the issue with price is a fair reason to look elsewhere. I was able to snag a JDM tank from BGRS when they were on sale, but that was still nearly $500. And I still have to modify my fuel lines for it.
Ah, I thought there must be some reason not to do it that way. My levin had the same rusty brown soup problem in the tank so I got a kit from Nakayama Racing- tank, pickup, level sensor, filler neck boot, gaskets and lines. Was $600 +shipping it here to the uk, we don't have aftermarket options here I don't think.
@@mattteee2973 There is the racing fuel cell from GRP4 Fabrications that's designed for the AE86, but that's fitted between the rear shock mounts in the cargo area.
@gripen047 that looks like a pretty solid design, but if you're going through the trouble of running a fuel cell, I would get something that is FIA/SFI certified.
I ran one of those for a bit, it caused me a lot of problems in the long run and I would've saved money buying a nice Radium fuel cell, which is what I ended up doing anyway lol. I have a couple videos going over all the as well :D including install/mounting information. If you're going to run an inline fuel pump, mount it as low as possible (I had mine parallel with the bottom of the fuel cell) so it doesn't create too much of a power draw. ua-cam.com/video/PenNBvKpkM8/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/vAvBwl4o2GA/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/KLiYWSbHtS8/v-deo.html
What’s up bud, just to clarify because I have the same to1b spectre tank and was a bit unsure if it was the correct one. They are non baffled sr5 tanks that can be converted to be efi compatible like the gts ones with the right equipment?
These have the baffle. I tried to show it in the video. After driving around with this tank for about a month, I can confirm that they have problems filing up all the way because of the vent tube placement in the tank, like I was worried about lol

I've heard of people using the JDM tanks, but they cost significantly more. This was less than $200. I think the last I heard the JDM tanks were $600+

I got a fuel cell from ebay but haven't put it on as yet but what is your advice on them
