My grandmother used to bury all her kitchen scraps in the vegetable garden. No stinky kitchen compost bin! The old ways are always best. This video gave me the ‘cozies’ as I sit on the couch cuddling my 2 dogs. Thank you!
This video was almost a throwback to the old Maddie videos with all the nature shots, narration, and cooking. Very groovy! 😃 I had to laugh when Elli talked about planting the lupins around your yard through. I bet 20 years ago the previous owners said ‘hey, we should plant some blackberry bushes around the yard… wouldn’t that be great?!’ Haha. Lovely video, as always! ❤
Hi Maddie & Ellie I love the homey quaint feeling in your home. The ducks, raised beds, mint chocolate drink, the 🍊 and grapefruit decorations, and of course Maddie that beautiful potpie was so country and homey and even the cold. Just love your space Much love 💖💖
Good vibrations abound working with the soil to continue prep for next year's harvest. Being able to enjoy the bounty of the gardens by preparing such a healthy meal is so satisfying! Glad that Peanut seemed to be doing much better with her foot----Cheers~
I've been watching your videos since the video where you went rock climbing with your vanlife friends (Your van was the #1 inspiration for my rig choice and layout). You've always had a great artistic presentation. There's some really great shots in this video. The cooking segments here bring me back to cooking in the van.
When I finally move out of my van onto land, Im getting ducks. And It’s all your fault!! You’ve shown how much they love human interaction and companionship. I love it! 😍 🦆
That pot pie looked absolutely Gorgeous n Delicious 😋 😍. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 Maddie & Ellie . I Love U Both Hugs and Love Always From Your Friend In Michigan Tam ❤️ ♥️ 💕 💖 💓 💗 ❤️ ♥️
duck or chicken, sheep, horse, alpaca etc, bedding is great mulch. I make my mulch 6 inches thick (straw, maple leaves, a little ash from the wood stove, etc) which keeps most weeds from growing and in spring, you can just make holes in the mulch and plant your seedlings with no need to turn the soil or pull weeds. Move mulch a few inches away from tree trunks, so rodents wont get in and harm the trunks.
Nothing like a meal from your garden and you have adorable beautiful ducks 🦆 love ❤ how cozy you made your space 🫶 Happy Holidays to you both and your viewers ☃❄🎄🐶🦆❣Thank You for sharing can’t wait to watch the next episode 🫶
And add a "healthy dose" of wine...❤😅....just how much is that exactly?? 😂😂 You two have more energy than any 10 stars in the sky. I really enjoy your many projects.❤ I hope Peanuts foot has healed up well❤😊 Be safe! Love you both!❤❤😊😊
LOL healthy dose was probably a good half cup, but hey, it reduces! ;) thank you, Michael! Peanut is doing so much better ~ thank you for asking after her! ❤❤
Nice decoration with dried orange and blood grapefruit Yes, winterizing one's garden is a bit of a chore, but the roof looks like it will be nice. What a nice recipe, the cooking made me hungry, more cooking please. Take care of yourselves and enjoy everyday life and each other
I didn't realise how long you small holding at the back is. What is it 100ft long? Great idea with the leaves. Just an idea: Did you know if you can get your hands on wooden pallets, screw them together, and make a box and leave the front lower than the 3 sides it becomes a great compost bin for composting leaves and food waste e.c.t into compost. When the roof is complete will you have a topping out ceremony.?
We have SO many left over wooden pallets and that is a fantastic idea, robert! Thank you so much! We will have to do some type of ceremony when it's finished, for sure :)
If you enjoy asparagus I highly encourage you to plant some crowns next year. It takes until year 3 to lightly harvest but after that you should get lots of delicious asparagus. This was our 3rd year and I say it was worth the wait. BTW raw just picked asparagus is fantastic and it’s a challenge to not eat it all raw!
Rosemary does fine outside in winter if you plant it in the ground. Sage, chives and thyme too. Mint also, but keep them in pots so they don't take over the garden.
Love the Christmas decorations. So relaxing watching you make them. I'm glad the roof was given to the roofer. Somethings are safer given to professionals. MERRY Christmas!!
I enjoyed learning about permaculture while watching those adorable ducks! Your recipe for pot pie looks delicious and perfect for these colder days coming. Stay warm, Maddie and Elli!
good morning! The roof is SO close to done but they weren't able to finish it that day.. hopefully the scaffolding will come down in the next week or so, we're crossing our fingers!
Maddie, I swear I look forward to ur videos every week. I love those little carrots 🥕 & how u make use of ur veggies u grow. I adore those oranges u hung for decorations, I can smell it all the from San Francisco. 😂 I am truly so happy for u 2 & obviously live vicariously through u. Can u please show us the roof when it's completed? Also, I was wondering if u follow Linnea & Akela I think u would enjoy watching her videos? Until next week 👋
Love the background music in this episode 👍. Pot pie looked amazing its bloody breakfast time here and now I'm craving a warm meat dinner dam girls LMAO 🤣🤣🤣. CHEERS🥂
Just curious, have you visited the town of Lübeck? There's an Irish Pub there that is fun to visit. It's run by an east German man (or it used to be) who is very interesting and talkative. I think it's called Finnegans. For some really enjoyable immersement into the beautiful German culture you should take in a show at the KOLK 17 Figurentheater. It's truly something to see😃😃 Lübeck is a great place to work on your photography skills as well. ❤️
I want to make your pot pie!!!Could you add your pot pie recipe to the video description? Otherwise I’m gonna have to watch several times so I can jot down all the ingredients and spices and herbs and directions 😅
It's salt! It helps to draw out the moisture :') Don't forget to add a little cinnamon at the end and they'll smell positively divine ~ you could do it with the trees out back!
Hello 👋👋 Maddie 🌸 Ellie 🌸 very nice to see you 🌈 Keep shinning 💎💒 Maddie

How about a cookbook Maddie….new ones and definitely all your past recipes from vanlife included.🙌🙌🫶 Hi Ellie and Eliza.

Peanut is doing SO much better, thank you for asking about it, Patricia!
Maddie, you are the momma duck! Your duckies follow you around like puppies. They are so cute.🥰
I’m sure happy that your roof is finally finished! Looks like a well prepared set of garden beds for next year’s crop of goodies!👏👏👏👏👏❤️
I'm currently sat watching this with my dinner about an hour to go. I could start eating my own arm after looking at that pie and chocolate drink!

Yes, winterizing one's garden is a bit of a chore, but the roof looks like it will be nice.

Even cooking turns into a small art project. I'm amazed.

I love that ! I thought about that too
You should have had your dog outside to help dig in the garden. Maybe she was inside all the time keeping warm? Smart dog!
She was, she doesn’t really like the cold! But she is also afraid of the vicious ducks 😅🦆
Happy Sunday amazing work in your garden and getting ready for the holiday and stay warm too
thank you so much! ❤❤

Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 To You, Your Friends, And Your Family To Maddie.

thank you so much!!
Maddy, do you line the dish with pastry on the inside or only on the top?
Girls, I love your ducks and your home is beautiful. ❤❤🎉🎉
I don't line it and it turns out perfectly! you could also line it with some kind of crust ~ you'd probably have to bake that first! :)
Why am I so hungry! 😊😋
;)

Dinner looks delish!
