  • Turbo is one of the most exciting words in the world of cars. Twin turbo, bi turbo, big turbo, twin scroll. Turbos make cars more efficient, faster and they make awesome blow off valve noises. How do they work? What is boost? What is the difference between twin turbo and bi turbo? What are the benefits and disadvantages of each? Bart teaches us how cars work by blowing stuff up and cutting things in half. It’s a science show for the car lover who’s easily bored

    The Purpose of EGR
How exhaust gas recirculation system works - Must watch
The sole purpose of the EGR is to reduce NOx emissions, and it's currently being used on both gasoline and diesel engines. In the case of Diesel engines where we have more NOx emissions, the EGR is pretty efficient. When the exhaust gases exit the cylinder, a small fraction of them will return to the cylinders through the intake and they will be burned again. By doing this, we reduce Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions by up to 30% which, is pretty significant in my opinion. The inconvenient part of the EGR is that it reduces the maximum power output of the engine. An engine has the best performance when it sucks in cold air. When the air is cold, it's denser, so basically we can burn more oxygen. When we use exhaust gases, the temperature of them is high, and the oxygen percentage is low. However, we use a small fraction of the exhaust gases, and most of the intake is still based on fresh air, but that small fraction of exhaust gases will increase the overall temperature of air within the cylinders. I used a scan tool on my car a few years ago to check something, and I have noticed that the average temperature of the air intake was around 46 degrees C and outside there were around 20 degrees. If we would block or remove the EGR system, we would increase power, but we would also increase emissions. In Diesel engines, a car with the EGR blocked is pretty noticeable - it emits a tone of black smoke, especially if it doesn't have a DPF. Manufacturers receive all kinds of restrictions from world leaders and organisations to reduce emissions and pollution, and it should

Hi this video explains about the Exhaust gas recirculation system, watch the entire video and lean it This is a technology employed on engines to reduce the amount of harmful nitrogen oxides been pumped out from the exhaust of an engine. As the pollution norms are strict in many parts of the world suc
In this video i have explained about the exhaust gas recirculation valve.how it helps vehicle to stay in the emission norms and how does it works. i hope you will learn a lot.enjoy the video and thanks for watching.

In this video I have explained how an EGR works. What is use of it and why we need it.

An exhaust system is usually piping used to guide reaction exhaust gases away from a controlled combustion inside an engine or stove The entire system conveys burnt gases from the engine and includes one or more exhaust pipes. Depending on the overall system design, the exhaust gas may flow through one or more of
An EGR valve is mounted on the exhaust manifold This valve regulates exhaust gases that go into the engine A portion of the exhaust gases is re-directed from the EGR cooler through various pipes and routes into the intake manifold This has a temperature sensor differential pressure to sense the flow of the air coming in
This EGR system works with the VGT operation to create the right turbo drive pressures for the right amount of EGR Flow
The exhaust aftertreatment system also consists of two parts designed to increase exhaust temperature for proper DPF regeneration The aftertreatment Fuel Injector (AFI) mounted on second the exit pipe from the turbocharger injects diesel fuel into the exhaust stream during a regeneration cycle When the fuel contacts the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) a chemical reaction occurs and the exhaust system temperature increases to a level that oxidizes the soot in the filter and reduces the emission out the tailpipe
The system will have the SCR system, DPF filter EGR system and VGT turbocharger to regulate emissions The SCR technology allows for passive regeneration This occurs when the EGT at the DPF inlet and the NOx Ratio to soot ratio are high enough to oxidize the particulate matter The process is slow and does not change the engine operation
exhaust gas recirculation system, exhaust gas recirculation system (egr) for two wheeler,With this system forced stationary regeneration is only a backup when passive regeneration is insufficient. The soot ratio will increase and decrease depending on the operation of y
