I thought Koray performed his character well. He joined in with Neriman and sometimes tried to confront her with the truth, but he did not step out of his role. He also did the same with the other members of the cast. However, he could have been less visible because sometimes it became an excess of Koray. His contribution was illuminating for the events in the series and sometimes even solved problems that Omer did not bother to solve.
Koray's and Neriman's roles are cartoonish, they have absolutely different vibe than Omer's role. I think Omer's acting is rather nuanced, he shows a lot of emotions with his face and body. Actually, I got hooked on this series, because I 've never thought that actors in soap operas can be capable of this. I thought their acting is always cartoonish or exaggerated or underplayed. Sometimes Omer's acting also looks cartoonish, but he looks natural and on point most of the time.

He wants to help, what’s wrong with that? Defne’s career IS BASED on her “relationships”, with Omer from Day 1, arranged though it may be. How did she get employed in the first place? Of course the other employees don’t know anything about Neriman game/plot, whatever it’s called. Her position depended on Omer’s being ok with it. She resigned because of the shoes theft & email incident =(but she was reinstated upon Omer’s okay. The shoes theft was not her fault. Omer asked her to reconsider her resignation but she refused. She accepted the offer of Sinan, who, whether he’ll admit or not, did it for Omer. But her selling shoe designs to Tambra is really unforgivable. This action of hers is an insult to & being indifferent to Omer’s feelings. Selling her designs to Tambra, Omer had warned her about & is Omer’s mortal enemy/competitor.

Stop your pride Serdar..You were not able to look for the money for Defne's debt to Neriman..where do you think you can get the money to buy your house? Why do you get angry at Omer.. He's only helping your family not to be evicted from your house because she's very concerned with Defne and your family. He loves Defne very much. Serdar should be grateful because Defne has Omer who will do everything for Defne's sake.
Serdar suffers from false pride. But Omer could have at least discussed it with him or Defne before taking action. It happened very quickly even though they still had a few days to go before the eviction.
Serdar is the one who keeps telling Defne that the two of them owe money, even though it remains just words. On the other hand, Nihan keeps reminding Defne of HER debt to Neriman and forgets how and through whom Defne incurred that debt.

This episode shows the maturity and difference between defne and Omer. He knew she was upset, so he sat her down to communicate. She would have rather ran away like she usually does. She doesn't seem to understand what real mature healthy relationship entails.

She was humiliated by Omer and wanted to make him pay by telling him that he chose the wrong one. Defne lied to him and he did love her.
Defne won the bet and that was also a reason for Fikret to ruin her luck with Omer. She did not wish the two of them each other.

Defne should have seen how happy her Grandma was upon knowing that the new owner of the house let them stay.. So she can't be angry with Omer. Omer did the right thing.
She knows that grandma will be happy because her problem has been solved. But Defne was left with the secret that would prevent the wedding plans from going ahead and then she was left with the debt for that house bought by Omer.
She will lose her job, Omer and even her zest for life while Grandma is dancing.
Defne should have told her family EVERYTHING that she did with whom, for what, how much & consequences. Family must SHARE the emotional burden/responsibilities, too, not just her. The grandmother has no serious illness, she can take whatever bad news there is.

The other one from the family, besides her grandma, is Esra who is not aware of the events.
Serdar and Nihan knew everything. And they kept their mouths shut and together with Turkan in season 2 started hating Ömer. And if you saw how they reacted to Esra when she mentioned Ömer's name then you also know why Defne couldn't tell.
Grandma abused her illness so often that when she left the house Defne always thought about her health and Serdar and Nihan stood in front of her with a glass of water all the time.
Defne NEVER see how Omer suffers because of what he did. His face shows so much heart. He doesn’t know where to put himself or to get mad at whoever. He’s right in saying that Defne NEVER tells him anything about her problems. Oner is there to listen & help her emotionally. What Defne said about her being afraid to get used to the good things that Omer can give/offer is BS. What happened when they get married, will she still be afraid to get used to the good life that Omer will provide her?
@@CinqueTerre558 Defne did not marry Ömer for his money and those good things; she wanted to marry him for himself. Not his wealth. She is not a Neriman. But not only Defne had to recognize the hurt in Ömer's face, he also had to recognize it in hers.
But he will do that in his year in Rome: he will remember every moment how she behaved and what she said and then he will understand why. Because then he will also know the reason for it.

A LOT of scenes cut in this version of the episode that makes this version of Episode 46 confusing. There is a whole scene between Sinan and Omer playing basketball at night (the night before Omer and Defne argue on the roof). Sinan has to EXPLAIN to Omer why Defne feels humiliated and why Omer needs to apologize. Very similar to when Sinan had to walk Omer through the situation when he admitted to Defne he would be with Fikret (even though Defne should have never broached it). Omer is simply CLUELESS. He intends to apologize, but then he doesn’t. He loses it when he learns she has been going through his mail.
Defne has lots of issues, but so does Omer. They both are emotionally stunted in their own ways. Omer appears more put together because he says less and for the most part is less reactive but we can see he loses it too (When Sude admits she sent the email, Selim, Season 2…. I finally broke down and bought the series for TurkishTV series on USB because (1) the translations were driving me crazy; and (2) I started to realize scenes were cut because there were some things that were unexplained.
Separately, while it drives me insane that Defne can’t spit out the truth, Omer’s insistence on her telling the truth and being open and not doing the same (Iz, Fikret and in Season 2 … the reason behind his spells) is mind-bogging. But it is a soap opera., not real life.

I sometimes wonder how he had felt when Sadri had given him some clarity about his past and then after his conversation with his grandfather. Did he feel remorse for what he did to Defne by breaking off the engagement?

@varshapillai8988 Defne is just confused...Omer has given her many opportunities to tell him the truth...family and friends have offered to tell Omer the truth even Omer's driver...but she kept promising that she would rather be the one to say the truth...the walls Omer built around him is as a result of his childhood, that cannot be his fault...he is just protecting himself hence the reasons for the walls he built. Defne has her own issues also. Omer never claimed to be perfect because in the following episodes, he was willing to let Defne help break the walls by seeking advice and opinions from Defne which meant he trusted Defne to help him make decisions. And whatever Defne told him, he did.

This was a considerably shorter episode. I can't help but think that possibly some scenes have been cut.
Oh well, I'll take what I can get of this fabulous coupling and show.
It seems like there was more that I hadn’t seen before actually. I’ve watched a lot. 😂
Define was capping bs. She was wrong on all fronts and had never really been honest with Omer. Agreed, her fears stopped her, but why put the blame on Omer. She was insensitive sometimes, even to her family. And yes, I know the family failed her too a few times.
A LOT of scenes cut in this version of the episode that makes this version of Episode 46 confusing. About 30 minutes worth (not all D &O) There is a whole scene between Sinan and Omer playing basketball at night (the night before Omer and Defne argue on the roof). Sinan has to EXPLAIN to Omer why Defne feels humiliated and why Omer needs to apologize. Very similar to when Sinan had to walk Omer through the situation when he admitted to Defne he would be with Fikret (even though Defne should have never broached it). We think Omer is put together because he is successful in his job, but Omer is simply CLUELESS with people. He is a loner, its his way or the highway and he is guided by his principals only.
He intends to apologize, but then he doesn’t. He loses it when he learns she has been going through his mail (not to say that I don’t understand that).
Defne has lots of issues, but so does Omer. They both are emotionally stunted in their own ways. Omer appears more put together because he says less and for the most part is less reactive but we can see he loses it too (When Sude admits she sent the email, Selim, Season 2…. I finally broke down and bought the series for TurkishTV series on USB because (1) the translations were driving me crazy; and (2) I started to realize scenes were cut because there were some things that were unexplained.
Separately, while it drives me insane that Defne can’t spit out the truth, Omer’s insistence on her telling the truth and being open and not doing the same (Iz, Fikret, not telling her about his mom’s death anniversary, and in Season 2 … the reason behind his spells) is mind-bogging. But it is a soap opera., not real life.
