- It's my first time EVER in Paris, France. The Arc de Triomphe was lovely, The Eiffel Tower was a moment for me, and Moulin Rouge was WILD.

Moulin Rouge is a variety show.
The movie isn't based on any actual story from the Moulin Rouge. So, there isn't a plot.
Originally, the shows were considered scandalous because the female dancers showed off their legs underneath their dresses with high kicks and acrobatics. But, there was a famous painter named Toulouse Lautrec who painted the women and captured moments from the show and made it "classy" to go see.
So, don't worry- the language barrier didn't stop you from understanding the plot... there wasn't one.
It’s so refreshing to see two young men visiting Paris for the first time , I loved how you were blown away by its beauty and history ! You were actually so cute drunk ! I hope that Disney allow Jete to go back into WDW , he seems like he is maturing into a very nice young man !

I have so many friends in the Moulin Rouge show! Lol… No, it’s not a “Broadway” show. This is the OG cabaret revue show much like the Lido de Paris is a well. These are the types of shows that they replicated in Las Vegas back in the day. They were all up and down the strip but you got to see the original that they all came from. SO much history there. I try an see it every time I’m in town as they change it every year or so.

Aw, that's so nice JoJo to share your only goal was to help take your family with you to Disney. My parents are separated as well, and my brother and I were able to fund a trip with our mom to Disney World our Junior Year of High School and it meant so much to us. We hadn't visited since we were very young when our parents were still together.
When you mentioned the Broadway show, I started to laugh realizing you were going to the authentic club that the movie and shows were based upon. The club where Toulouse lau Trec sat in the audience. Such a historical venue, home of the cancan. You had no idea. You are so authentic and honest and got really lucky.

Congrats on your trip to Paris. I was there 15 years ago and would love to go back for a third time. I love Europe. I always wanted to see Notre Dame and was fortunate enough to see it before the fire. Will never forget it.

Next time check out the different bridges, they‘re all unique and beautiful! You also gotta see the Eiffel Tower at night and don‘t forget the Sacre Coeur, it‘s quite close to the Moulin Rouge.

In my 50s and just experienced Paris, DLP, and Greece also. The same wonder you emote is what I felt...age not a factor. Its a testament that we all need to find a way to explore and learn outside of our safe bubbles! Next for me is Mediterranean and Norway cruises to get as many countries tasted as cheaply as possible. Wish you the same adventures!

Hey JoJo, I'm so thrilled that you & Jete got to explore Paris as you did! Its an amazing city. And wow to you seeing Moulin Rouge, its a bit spicy!!! ha! (Funny story - as I was very lucky to visit Paris 1st time on a school trip many many years ago & we ate in a cafe not far from Moulin Rouge. And leaving in the evening on the coach out of the city , aged about 12 we loved all the colourful bright lights not realising until we were older that it was an adult area in evening time!!! ha! ) Loved watching guys, thanks .

I used to have an apartment in Paris and I've 1) never walked over the pedestrian bridge to the Eiffel Tower, and 2) never been to Moulin Rouge. I now live 5000 miles away, and I loved loved loved seeing it through your eyes. So glad you got to experience it!

Hello , I have recently found your channel and I am thinking why it took so long to find me your outstanding videos? You guys are awesome and had great content. Love to see some suggestions for kids friendly places in France. We are traveling to France in late May with our 2 kids (2 and 5 year) and just wanted your opinion if that can be doable? We saw your video about mistake to avoid and we wanted to spend more days in Paris.
Day-1-5: Paris
Day-6-7: Versailles and Lyon
Day-8-9: Nice, Cannes
Day-10: Monaco day trip
Day-11: Return back
Please advise because we have 2 small kids and suggest if we can omit some city but we like to go Nice, Cannes and Monaco for sure.

You go to the Eiffel Tower but don’t go up it? Hello? No. Next time, get there first thing in the morning, as soon as it opens, buy a ticket to go all the way up. You can look around on the way down, stopping on each level. There are good restaurants on the first and second levels. Good eating. At midnight, they give a special light show to be viewed from the ground.
Speaking of food, pasta in Paris? Omg! When you go to France you eat real and traditional French food. Splurge for a fancy gourmet restaurant. You have the money. Bring proper attire. Then you’ll know why French food quite properly has the reputation that it does. FYI, the Musée d’Orsay has an excellent casual restaurant, their main restaurant on the first floor, up front, with the white walls with gilding, high ceiling. Some of the best casual dining in Paris.
And you must make time next time for The Louvre. Go the day it’s open until late. Get there as soon as it opens, and make a bee line for the Mona Lisa. It’s the best way to avoid the crushing crowds. Then you can see the rest of the museum. Be sure to see the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, the apartments of Napoleon III, and their vast collection of French painting, all eras. If it’s your cup of tea, also look at their outstanding collection of Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities, and their collection of Egyptian antiquities, the best outside of Egypt. I strongly recommend both.
As for nearby excursions, Versailles is a must, both the palace proper and the gardens. The castles of the Loire valley must be seen. A very convenient tour will take you to Amboise, Chenonceau, and Chambord. You can see many splendid others by renting a car and getting a map. You can buy a book on the castles on the tour; it’ll help you figure which others you might wish to prioritize. You’ll want to get some bread, cheese, wine, and assorted cold cuts before you set out. My castle excursion day was my favorite day in France. I would also recommend taking the train out to Chartres for the truly magnificent cathedral, with organ concert on Sundays (I think). It’s one of the world’s very best examples of gothic architecture.
