I still think you should do DS9. That said I appreciate the effort and commitment required to tackle another 7-season series, and why you may be reluctant to do so. Either way, I'm here for the long haul. At a risk of constantly repeating myself, I wish you success in all your endavours. I'm glad to have found you very early on. You have been fabulously entertaining and it's been immensely delightful to have followed along.
Well done guys. I enjoyed watching your single serving tng reviews. Once back in 1992 my Dad dropped my brother and I off in Toronto for a star trek convention. We were at the hotel where the convention was but we were like 4 hours early before the doors even opened. Good thing for us because John Delancie was just arriving to the convention centre but his room wasnt ready so he ended up sitting down with us for at least 1/2 hour while we grilled him with questions. It was like our own personal interview. Oh and later Brent Spiner was there but by that time we were one of the audience.
Just wow. You really are my heroes for your dedication to make it till the end. Appreciate the even quality - just perfection (unlike some of the TNG episodes 😅). I've been watching your TNG reviews throughout the last half a year or more, it has had some strangely calming effect on me. Greetings from Prague, take care!
The thing i love about tng is that so much insane shit happens to the crew, and at the beginning of each episode, they're fine. The stuff that happens to them in any given episode would traumatize a normal person to the point that they wouldnt be able to get out of the bathroom their permanently crying in. Why dont you ever see Picard talking to star fleet command about how a goofball with god powers just pops in once in a while to mess with everything. Or troi never a says "remember that virgin birth i did?" while they're playing cards. Of course riker never pops by to talk to the alien orphan he brought on board. The whole genetic regression one is insane, they must have memories of being iguanas and spiders and whatever.
Basically continuity reset button was pressed at the end or beginning of each episode. That makes it more accessible for casual fans or just normal viewers.
I can only imagine how much work this series took you guys and it is definitely appreciated. This was a fantastic series of videos. I understand if you guys don't do another series, though I'll be disappointed. I loved the little jokes thrown in to each episode.
Lol. Might make some more responsive comments...but first...just wanted to make sure the system could handle the "G" Grade . 10:37. It's there. "G....for Ghost".
I watched every single episode of this (and Buffy, so far) more than once. Your commentary is fresh, intelligent, witty and oftentimes hilarious, and something I look very much forward to continuing to listen to for as long as you guys decide to do this. Thanks for all the effort; your content has helped me get through some of the most challenging days I've had in recent years.
I can say that in 1994 when TNG ended it definitely felt like they had totally run out of ideas... but then a month after, DS9 blew up a ship that looked like the Enterprise captained by a guy that looked like Picard and you could tell that a new sheriff was in town.
Thanks for covering the entire show. Initially, it kinda pissed me off that you dissed on some of my favorite episodes, but then I just looked at it as you reviewing it in a goofy way for entertainment's sake. Then, as I advanced through your playlists, I started agreeing with some of your criticisms. You even made me rewatch a whole bunch of episodes across all seasons just to have it fresh in my mind before watching your review. And for that I'm actually grateful. I still think you were too harsh on some episodes, but hey, its your opinion. At least you made it funny. And it wouldn't make me like the episodes less. All in all, this was a great series I enjoyed watching and would definitely follow reviews for other Trek series if you ever start making them. Best of luck in your other projects.
10:49 I've said this, but as more of an explanation than an excuse. Back in the day I and some others were surprised at the S7 renewal given how much was going on. I don't think hiring more writers would have helped. What was missing was attention from the people who steered the shows and their shared universe. TNG didn't have a big flowchart of the direction it was supposed to go and it showed.
Wesley gets even worse in S2 of Picard where he is revealed to be the guardian of time and space, meaning anytime something f***s up it's all his fault for not doing his job properly. And yes, Ro was intended to be a main character of DS9 but she declined
That was a fantastic full series rundown, gentlemen! And very amusing sign off. 😂 Your Trek videos deserve so many more views and more love. 35:03 Don't trust that dude in red, guys! I heard he takes bribe money in space apple pies. 💸🍎🥧
In 1994, my friends and I were in our last years of college, and if it weren't for them, and the occasional hot, nerdy girl, I would've skipped season seven altogether. The decline in story quality and execution in season six was noticeable and unbearable in season seven. Deep Space Nine was disliked by the majority of my friends, but I took a liking to it. When I saw the episode "Duet" I knew that Deep Space Nine had the potential of being something really special. I had completely tuned out of the Next Generation. I didn't really care for the cast, apart from Worf, O'Brien, and Geordi. I wasn't hate-watching season seven, but it really didn't stand up to scrutiny, even from Trek apologists like my college friends, and they were ready to move on to something else, like Voyager. I liked the Next Generation series, but it is a distant second place from Deep Space Nine for me.
late comment, but I'll say Deep Space 9 is great. Enjoyed it much more than TNG personally, the character conflicts were actually fun and something to get invested to compared to like TNG.
Thank you for the series. I always looked forward to your reviews of TNG. I especially appreciated your brutal honesty. You really got me thinking on many occasions. I will miss getting new TNG episodes. I hope you do Voyager.
I am noticing that a lot more of your videos, just in the past few months, are over 10K views. It's now over a third....used to just be a handful, like the first episode. Even ones that I personally liked and remembered like Schisms, without too many views, are now about 10K. So I think the "binging" aspect of your channel is taking root. Probably some mathematics involved. Ryan George's channels like Pitch Meeting, for example, regularly has viewership about 1.5X his subscriber base.
Thanks for all your work on this video series. It was funny I came across the series while I was rewatching the show after years without seeing it. I was in the middle of season 3 when I found you and really got into your take on the episodes I'd seen. Best of luck in your future videos and hoping you dive into DS9, my favorite Star Trek series. Cheers...
One point: in defense of the writers, regarding Beverly and Jean-Luc and their breakfasts, I think the idea was to give us the distinct impression that they have breakfasts all the time, so then when they show him being distracted, it's to illustrate that whatever else is going on is THAT important.
My nostalgia goggles are a little too thick when it comes to TNG, which I absolutely love, and so I really appreciate your insight and humor in reviewing this series. I'd be VERY curious to hear your thoughts on newer shows like Strange New Worlds, I have the sneaking suspicion that the fewer episodes of SNW will end up having overall higher average scores. It's a been a long road, fellas. Well done and thank you for all the great videos!
Very good final review! Thanks for producing. One question: Which episode was your favorite in the Series? I don't think you touched on that. Thanks again!
That's a wonderful recap of TNG and to the cast and characters. When I saw the "Grade G" I had to rewind and look where that came from and then I thought "Well yeah that makes sense.". I agree that there are not many episodes I would watch and focus on when It's on. Maybe you will some day even look into "Star Trek but for Kids from the 90s" with the show "Space Cases" which you can find on UA-cam.
Wow, that was a gargantuan effort ! I remember when you guys first started making these videos in 2020 (in the middle of the pandemic lockdown crap), I was instantly hooked from the very first episode. I really wanted to see it through to the end and you guys delivered. Now, it's definitely a very patchy show (some very strong episodes, A LOT OF FILLER, and some VERY BAD ones), and I think it would have been better if they had finished around season 4. I agree that the original TOS (the first two seasons anyway, the third was horrible) was more scientific and cerebral than TNG, that always felt like a product of its time (late 80s New Age concepts mixed in with some core elements from the original show). To me the greatest detriment of this show was that it needed (or at least they thought it needed) some acceptance from the fans of TOS, which is why they had all these cameos, like Spock, McCoy, Kirk in Generations etc. They should have allowed TNG to be its own thing from the beginning. Anyway, congratulations again for all your hard work !
42:51 Guinan does show up again… in Star Trek: Generations. Which is… sort of like another TNG appearance. And she played an important role in the movie.
Bravo chaps. It's been really fun revisiting TNG. Definitely got me through some slow days at work over the pandemic and as my job was winding down before I was made redundant.
Troi was not flushed out by writers, since Marina Sirtis kept her options open with work outside TNG during production. At one point, Sirtis was certain she was leaving the show. That said, fans enjoyed her in TNG, and she finally set herself to stay in remaining seasons. BTW Lwaxana Troi was played by real life widow of Gene Roddenberry, which why she dropped in from time to time.
Watched your star trek reviews since season 3, looking forward to whatever comes next! I havent seen buffy yet, so maybe i should save those videos until after Ive gotten through a bit of it, but as you guys said: "The copyright holders think that these videos are the same as watching the full episode" "when in fact they are better" 😁
@@ogto Evey one is always thinking what they may or may not do in the future, but that is irrelevant. What is relevant to "NOW TIME TO SWITCH TO ANIME BABYYYY" being a wrong IS that they said they are indeed doing the movies, at the very least. NOW IS THE TIME TO WAIT BABYYY!
I'd tune in with these guys giving contemporary anime the same treatment. I have a lot of fondness for various series of the time but I also know that not all of it will hold up, especially if we're including dubbing quality as a consideration.
It was so fun to explore these episodes with you both! Thanks for making these videos! I wish I could be with you to go through DS9, my favorite series by far.
This series took me quite awhile to get through. Plenty of laughs through out. These would have been fun to watch after watching each episode, as a companion piece. I certainly disagreed with a lot of your opinions, but it was fun to hear your perspectives. There was so much random takes and off the wall humour that was much appreciated. I'd love to see the same treatment for ds9 and especially voyager as theres so many stinkers on that show that seem ideal for your humour.
Geordi was definitely the most shafted main character, Wesley’s on my s***-list 4 life, and O’Brien turned out to be the breakout role. Barkley grew on me like a fungus🤣. Oh, and they dropped the ball with Guinan but that probably had something to do with Whoopie’s availability. Thanks for plugging thru this wonderful classic series! I look forward to whatever other ST stuff you put out!
I never really got the whole "Picard and Data show. I felt that there were many episodes that featured other characters doing things prominently. I also respectfully disagree with certain opinions made in this video. I've binged through the entirety of TNG and it was great! Sad that it was over.
Lol, I saw the Animated Series but I couldn't say I was upgrade. It was cool how they use the original voices and sound effects and stuff and acted like they tried to take it serious but then they had stupid crap. Like you remember that tarded alien with the limbs that would disconnect and Float around on their own if he wanted them to? Got them out of the Briar Patch that one time? I think that was when I gave up on thinking the show would be cool.
1970s cartoons had a particular format that made everything a little lame, not only in retrospect but at the time. Part of it was budgetary and another part is poor script writing.
I watched every episode you did. I’m really looking forward to the TNG movies and Picard stuff your about to do. Also love the Buffy reviews. Do Angel.
Terrific summary view, thanks much! Now 10:36 takes rhe "G" rating to a whole other level along with "worse than 'F'". And the more I think about it, it's *two* different levels 😂. Season 2 had the brunt of the writer strike and scrambling afterward, which I think is why it feels sub-par.
This was a enormous task you did. And I re-watch your stuff because it's very fun to hear your comments.. And I hate that one when Data was staring at the blank screen for 5 minutes 🧐🧐🧐🤨🤨🤨🤨🖖🤨 They put poor Alexander in a bad position. The bond with lwaxanna.. Worf is a terrible father... Jean Locutus and Beverly, since the third week when they were intoxicated, there was something. 😳 Data and his fully functioning 🤣 Barclay? He is Howling Mad Murdock, period. This was more fantasy yup. Overall I don't like TOS, third season.. And not every episode is of my taste Same with TNG.. Except for the acting. I also wanted to listen. It's slow for today's standards but I believe in old movies with great cast, THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!!!! 😅👍👋
I found your channel and it quickly became one of my favorites. I watch your TNG videos over and over (but not with Geordi, because he cheats like a little bitch). Your reviews let me revisit the series without having to rewatch it. (I didn't realize you were such fans of TOS -- FYI, there's a podcast called "Damnit Jim" where two guys review and analyze TOS similarly to how you did TNG [note: I am not affiliated with that podcast].) Can't wait for what you have next, but I guess I'll have to content myself with rewatching old episodes for now. Great job. 👍
Stop whining about it, I already watch all of your videos guys. I watch you Star Trek videos. I watch your Buffy videos I watch your things that we watched in whatever month videos. Everything except for the shorts. I hate GD shorts.... I hate freaking Tik-Tok and I despise every video on UA-cam that is somebody trying to make one of those videos and emulated. But even if someone's videos originally come from Tik-Tok... Jesus freaking Christ make them into a normal UA-cam video when you want to board them. Don't make them a freaking short. .... anyhoo, sorry about that rant. I'm pretty sure y'all don't come from Tik-Tok. Because I don't use the damn app. But they never seem to say that on there. So yeah, good job. Have you considered doing Firefly? It'd be real short you wouldn't have to worry about it taking years. They got cancelled way too early.
No TOP 10 episodes?? Gee, what a letdown! I enjoyed watching all of your TNG videos and this review. You guys are funny. However, I'm disappointed you did include a segment for Dr. Pulaski. She appeared in 20 episodes, more than some other characters you did review.
you guys didn't mention Q when talking about side characters? lol , isn't he the most prominent side character on the show, who appears the most and stuff??
Can't wait for the DS9 reviews, on the back of my head there's like... 4? Episodes i did not liked, and like 2 episodes with a trope "hello, i'm mister Good Doer and today is a good day to die, and, you should feel sorry for me, despite the fact you see me for the first time". Also i never really connected with Bashir, to me he's like Bertram Wooster but a cheap one and instead of Jeeves he got O'Brian.
I could be wrong, but, I think Gene Roddenberry looked at the first Star Trek movie, and Next Generation, as informal re-boots of the original series, and not a continuation. So perhaps when NG season 3 seems more connected to the original series, it's because Roddenberry had less influence on the show than before. ua-cam.com/video/Z6OtOTwZjiY/v-deo.html
Enjoyed your reviews, watched them a few at a time after I would watch a few episodes. Please do more Star Trek. Maybe Firefly too! You guys have great chemistry and I look forward to more from you two! I looked forward to every episode from you guys. You guys were hilarious! Only critique is for Robert. At first when you talked about how "this scifi thing is complete nonsense and not based in reality" was interesting, but as we got further and further into the show I feel like you focused too much on that, and it became too distracting. The show is imo definitely not about the science, but rather the humanity. It just started to annoy me how much you focused on that because I did not care that much and you cared too much. I think most people are watching it for entertainment, not for accurate science applications. Props to you for finishing all 200+ episodes though despite your disdain for the show lol. Keep up the content though I will watch it all!
Back in highschool when i was watching all these episodes on my lil 3ds, i thought all these characters were so cool ! ! ! Ive been intrrested to rewatch but then i found this series, i cant believe how clownish the main cast are , now cuz of y'all when i think of geordi, all i see is a holodeck freak and a man flailing his arm telling everyone to evac Engineering 🤣 This was an awsome binge watch, very entertaining and thh best is it saved me a lot of time having to binge watch the whole show myself! I doubt i woulda made it past S1

Honestly you guys have given us so much quality entertainment the last few years. Thanks for keeping us entertained! Now do DS9 please!
Very surprised you neglected to mention Q and Pulaski in the side characters part.
I still think you should do DS9. That said I appreciate the effort and commitment required to tackle another 7-season series, and why you may be reluctant to do so. Thanks guys. This was as, if not more entertaining than rewatching the series as a whole. Good work
And so much faster!
This channel is my favorite star trek review series. Both of you are very enjoyable to listen to and I'm looking forward to more to come.
Was with you guys since S01E01. What a Trek.
I started with you guys from the beginning during the pandemic.
THANK YOU.
40:56 Ro *was* supposed to be a main character on DS9. But that fell through and they invented the Kira character.
Invented, filed the serial number off of Ro, whatever

Hey guys. When will your kick off the TNG movie reviews. Thanks for these. Rewatching these reviews have become my nightly ritual.
I can say that in 1994 when TNG ended it definitely felt like they had totally run out of ideas... but then a month after, DS9 blew up a ship that looked like the Enterprise captained by a guy that looked like Picard and you could tell that a new sheriff was in town.
And started the decline in ratings that ended with Enterprise.
Thank you for this entire series. Very entertaining and funny. Voyager or SG1 could be fun
I really appreciate all the hard work. Voyager when? Thanks for the videos!
It's been a great journey with you guys! TY so much for the wonderful content!

Loved it! Loved how often you’d mKe me laugh. I also get that I look at this show through rose coloured glasses as I watched it when I was 12….
So... Deep Space 9 next? :)
The character of ensign Ro was supposed to be a main character on DS9, and eventually the role became Kira Nerys.
Time Magazine mirror style: "My favorite part of the show is us, the viewers".
Lookin forward to the tng movie reviews 😊
this has a been a great way to revisit TNG. props to you guys for seeing it thru.
NOW TIME TO SWITCH TO ANIME BABYYYY. trigun 98 let's gooooo
They're not done. They've at least movies to cover, they said.
@@PJFrye yeah but that's a less ambitious endeavor than 7 seasons of a TV show. i'm sure they're already thinking of what to cover in the future
33:37 that is what happened though, I felt that was exactly what happened when i watched it
I love your guys jokes I watched you guys alot for the laughs.
Looking forward to your takes on DS9!
Please review TOS episodes.
This show has great acting, and very interesting stories that make you think.
C- for Darmok? This grade is a punchable offense.
I never really got the whole "Picard and Data show. I felt that there were many episodes that featured other characters doing things prominently. I also respectfully disagree with certain opinions made in this video. I've binged through the entirety of TNG and it was great! Sad that it was over.
Q didn't deserve a spot in the side character review?
Lol, I saw the Animated Series but I couldn't say I was upgrade. It was cool how they use the original voices and sound effects and stuff and acted like they tried to take it serious but then they had stupid crap. Like you remember that tarded alien with the limbs that would disconnect and Float around on their own if he wanted them to? Got them out of the Briar Patch that one time?
I think that was when I gave up on thinking the show would be cool.
1970s cartoons had a particular format that made everything a little lame, not only in retrospect but at the time. Part of it was budgetary and another part is poor script writing.
@@dycedargselderbrother5353 Space Ghost and The Herculoids was awesome
I watched every episode you did. I’m really looking forward to the TNG movies and Picard stuff your about to do.
Also love the Buffy reviews. Do Angel.
Great work! I just noticed that YT auto transcription gets Cardasians as Kardashians XD that’s an idea for a series!
Did anyone graph their notes compendium? I would love to look at a graph.
Ro was going to be in the role of Kira Nerys, but the actress didn't want to or something like that.
Really enjoyed the series and I'm looking forward to the movie content. I'm excited to see what Star Trek stuff you do moving forward :)
Please do DS9, guys. Please :)
What happened was TNG ended up being popular with younger audiences, so they aimed it more that way. Then they made DS9 for thr mature storytelling.
This was a enormous task you did. And I re-watch your stuff because it's very fun to hear your comments.. And I hate that one when Data was staring at the blank screen for 5 minutes 🧐🧐🧐🤨🤨🤨🤨🖖🤨
They put poor Alexander in a bad position. The bond with lwaxanna.. Worf is a terrible father...
Jean Locutus and Beverly, since the third week when they were intoxicated, there was something.
😳 Data and his fully functioning 🤣
Barclay? He is Howling Mad Murdock, period.
This was more fantasy yup.
Overall I don't like TOS, third season..
And not every episode is of my taste
Same with TNG.. Except for the acting. I also wanted to listen. It's slow for today's standards but I believe in old movies with great cast,
THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!!!! 😅👍👋
I hope you will do more trek
You guys should do voyager next or the tng movies haha
Have a go at (Star Trek) Enterprise.
I think it aged very well, despite people "disliking" it first.
No TOP 10 episodes?? Gee, what a letdown! Well, let me then sum up all of Robert's A and A- episodes and Nick's pure A episodes (as he had way more A's overall but a lot of those were A-):

All Good Things...
If you think TNG is bad, you'll have a real picnic with Voyager. LOL
Great way to cap off the run
I think that technically Picard should be done. At least season 3.
! ! Ive been intrrested to rewatch but then i found this series, i cant believe how clownish the main cast are , now cuz of y'all when i think of geordi, all i see is a holodeck freak and a man flailing his arm telling everyone to evac Engineering 🤣
This was an awsome binge watch, very entertaining and thh best is it saved me a lot of time having to binge watch the whole show myself! I doubt i woulda made it past S1
