Tip for all: Hold CTRL then leftclick (LMB) onto the Hooded One for him to identify all your items without going through a menu. THEN and only then, should you start selling your items for GOLD as they sell more when identified as opposed to being sold as unidentified. Holding ALT before LMB-ing any NPC will also activate their shop most of the time (whereas CTRL will activate their special function/shop).

Hold Control to quickly transfer items. - Alt and Shift have functions in the game also. - When you open the Escape menu or the skills menu the games pauses. - In the options menu you can change the terrain setting for your minimap and map overlay. - You can display your life and mana values over rage globes and a bar over your head in the options.

maps reset after being on another area (town or another map) for abt 8 minutes. But you can also forcefully reset a map by ctrl clicking any entrance to the map (waypoint, portal or just the actual entrance) and creating a new instance
one tip i can recommend is in settings which lets you see how much life you have, shield, mana, and spirit since spirit is needed for alot of stuff like your skeleton warriors or even spirit gems that can be activated, i belive its under the game tab or ui, the more spirit you have the more things can be activated and summoned for warriors
Yep! You can re-farm campaign maps and even bosses if you'd like to. They reset over time (8~15mins on random if left alone AFAIK) or you can manually reset them by using the instance manager (on your map menu - hold CTRL and right click the map node to access the manager). Lastly, regarding the helpfulness of the community, it's mostly because PoE1 was a niche game no matter how successful it was and so most of the community (not all) are very welcoming and as helpful as they can be to newcomers on both games. As you might have noticed, PoE is a pretty deep game and you can go far with basic knowledge but you can also decide to TURBO min-max it and reach the absurd levels of power that you can see in other videos. That said, there is a minimal game and mechanics knowledge needed to "get far" into the game. Good luck and stay sane exile!
Also, I've yet to see you use your Transmutation and Augmentation Orbs to improve white/blue gear (one makes it blue, the other adds another affix to an already blue item that doesn't have two affixes yet [a prefix and a suffix]). As for checking on the breakdown of a skill, the " > " button on the right hand side of any equipped skill you have will give you all the breakdowns of everything it can and can't do. Finally, holding down ALT on a lot of things will provide you with additional details about it and everything "underlined" can be interacted with while holding down ALT.
Ooooohhh so I was kinda right then, when the portal disappears when you're in the town, that means the map has now reset! But knowing I can just do it manually gets me thinking for some potential farm runs! Cheers for that! That makes sense now, because i remember seeing a video somewhere about it that showed the player count, it was quiet big but, there were like barely anyone talking about it so it wasn't till this game that, when it actually took over my feed, then and only then did my brain go "yeah alright, let's give this a go" I think I've used them outside of the videos maybe once or twice, but I'm shocked I didn't use any during a video atleast once, if I remember it was a ring, I gave it an orb and it gave me +8 strength (annoying cause I had used a skill point to get +5 strength for a certain piece of equipment), if that isn't what you're talking about, then when I play next I'll have a lil looksie 😁 Ooh! No way! There are so many helpful keybinds what the hell 😅 YES! Haha, I knew that one, I needa get in the habit of.. using it more though when I get confused Thankyou for all this though! Press "C" to view your character stats. and when in the skill menu ('G') click on the small arrow on the right to see the skill stats. (You were looking for what your crit damage would be)

If you liked Dead Nation you should have a look at Alienation, very simple Gameplay but absolutely addicting. ! Important before either disenchanting items for shards or selling them for gold ALWAYS at least in the beginning of your journey check the salvage bench because items with quality on it like gear, weapons but also flasks or items with rune sockets will give you currency to upgrade your own items with quality or rune slots. The 14-25 damage on the Chaos Bolt is the range the spell can roll when it hits the enemy. If you ever wanna do a 1:1 Q&A session to ask specific questions or just listen to some explanations related to the game, what is important and so on, let me know.

Even if it's not spreading, Contagion does damage over time. You need to be casting this on Bosses too, not trying to Wand them to death. Just imagine the Consort Asinia and/or the Lachlann fight, and how much shorter they'd be if they were taking Chaos damage the entire time you're dodging their attacks and creating space. You're never going to get out of Act I spamming the basic wand skill and hoping your Minions will mop up after you - they're mostly there to "tank" for you and distract enemies at this early point in the game. Also, using a higher-level Skill Gem to Level Up an existing skill makes it stronger - for Minions, not only does this improve their stats, it also makes them COST LESS SPIRIT so you can summon *more* of them in addition to them being stronger. At this very early stage, those Uncut Gems are the most valuable things you can find and you should be using them the second you're out of combat to improve your existing Skills or to maybe try a new one.
During the Asinia fight I actually was using contagion spell, not all the time, but most, again, I am still very new to ARPG's, I come from first person shooters and third person survival games so bare with me if I can't dodge and send a spell over while trying not to die, I do appreciate you trying to help, I really do, but I'm still also trying to learn the very basics of an ARPG, but the advice on using the gems makes alot of sense, using them asap, so I'll be sure to do that more! Thankyou though my guy, and I appreciate your honesty!! 😁
@@Wøoky616 Honestly not trying to be a jerk, sorry if it sounded that way; more a warning that the game expects you diversify your toolkit and output as much damage as you can. As you've probably noticed already, fighting long, drawn-out wars of attrition with the Bosses is A) not fun and B) tends to end with you dying either to a one-shot or from running out of Healing. The final Boss of Act I is going to be a real stiff hurdle if you don't get a good Wand with + to all Minion Skills or some + to Spell Damage on it. Popping over to the Elemental Tree and grabbing Firewall the next time you have a spare Skill Gem is also a solid option for early damage - let your Skellies get something to stop moving, lay a Firewall under it, hit them with Contagion, and then you can Wand or toss Bone Spines or whatever until Firewall and Contagion fade; rinse and repeat. Good luck!
