@@nicholasum Because that would mean excessive glue. Also a taller bead doesn’t always fix the problem. Depending on the brand of urethane that you’re using, some of them have poor viscosity and don’t hold their form, especially in warmer temperatures. so once you set the glass, they’ll have a tendency to settle further than where you originally decked it. This method solves the problem, regardless of what brand urethane you use.
That was a beautiful bead! Always wondered why that gap would occur, I'm not a glass tech but this was still interesting.
