That’s lovely - my grandad had a 1256 Viva - and he really looked after it, but the inner wings rotted out in the finish, and it had to be scrapped. Tremendous colour and interior - my favourite era for Vauxhalls.
A time warp car still in excellent condition. These were very popular during the 70's , the higher spec ones were sought after on the used market. Very easy to drive with light steering and a smooth gearbox, i thought they looked better than Ford's Escort. A rare chance for a collector of 70's era cars.
I like the tread plate being used as a radiator cover!! Lips on rear wheelarches look a bit iffy! Had a basic Viva HC back in 72 and a Magnum 1800 two door auto in the 80's. Still kicking myself for letting the Magnum go! Only a couple left in Auto spec!
I had the 1800 version ….. I’m old now obviously but I’m sure it had an 1800 engine. That was one hell of a car for me, not a Rolls by any stretch of the imagination or the equivalent performance of a Cosworth but it was the best I could afford and loved it to bits. Never tired of driving it but because of cash constraints I foolishly didn’t check the coolant, Jack Frost visited and destroyed the motor. It was left for too long as I had another runabout and rodents finished it off. Great car though, good to watch the video.
Am I the only one to spot the crud on the rear arch at 2:27?! Don't get me wrong - it's in amazing condition overall - but surely this should have been mentioned?
It’s a classic car 🚙 Snd very old however very good 👍 condition. It doesn’t matter how old the car 🚗 is because it goes very well. 👌 I spect it’s nice 😊 👍 👌 and warm inside the car. 🚗 There’s also an estate 🏡 car. 🚗 👍
Magnums were pre GLS models, A 2300 GLS A bloody rare car these days, Were back in the day too. I had one in 88 to 91. only sold it cause parts were hard to buy even then.
would love an old car like this for daily runner as modrn junk they sell us now are cheap and nasty.. and eu scrap you cant get parts you need no wonder so many new cars get scrapped no parts to fix them or cost to much if your lucky to get the right parts..
@@bigvinny333 absolutely correct mate. it was on the chevettes too. linden green always reminded me of the sort of colour that was on hospital corridor walls..
Is this guy blind? He said the rear arch is lovely and crisp with no corrosion, yet you can clearly see the arch lip is shot to bits all the way round, and the lower rear quarter behind the wheel is bubbling out and you can clearly see its had filler and paint, i think he needs to get his eyes tested 😂😂😂
If i had the space i would buy it now lovely car
My first car absolutely loved it metallic blue
WOW...i remember these ( they were scarce when they were new) AMAZING condition !!!!

Had a red Viva in the 70s, great memories 😢
What a great looking classic!
Had 1 long time ago lovely drive car
Beautiful car love it’s round headlights
Highly unusual colour - rare
Was my first car loved it when the drop snoot came out

Had a Firenza in the 70's. Swapped it for a 2000e Cortina Mk3.

Back wheel arches looked rough and Wavey
Now,isn't that better then an Escort!
The paint shop must have left the wheel trims off, when it had its re spray.
Never realised before, but these are pretty little cars, lovely colour too.Just a shame it's not a 2300 GLS Magnum.

A decent, straightforward appraisal which, perhaps, ought to have included the ‘ballooning’ on these rear arches. Still, a very, very nice HC.

Mint…
Beautiful car could do with a 2300 engine in it though.
1800 Magnum was more than enough
Not so sure its all good behind the rear wheels. I suspect I can see some bog.
Not sure that's a original Vauxhall colour?
It looks like Vauxhall Linden Green to me ? An original colour.
@bigvinny333 yes possibly or kashmir yellow

Better off with the Magnum 1800
@petersmith7126. Or a Magnum 2300 or even better a Firenza Droopsnoot.
@@piledriverpotter9847 .... 2300 was a bugger of an engine to work on if I remember correctly and I never liked the droopsnoot
