I have a 2013 nite race blue Grand Sport. At a traffic light in Greensboro N.C. looked to my right and there sat a N.R. blue ZR1. I was blown away. Only a true enthusiast could appreciate that rarity.
I also have a NRBGS 2013, and I have never seen another in person in that color including C7s.
Love my torch red 2010 C6 ZR1. It's truly been a joy to own and drive. I still have to pinch myself from time to time.
I want one so bad! got a 19 C7 need a C6 just because! haa
cool cars
Bought my '09 JSB ZR1 in Jan. of 2020 for $59k.........I could not have bought it any better, it would probably bring $80k+ today. The car was concours level quality with only 7.5k on the clock, and absolutely gorgeous. I bought it to enjoy, and now after 4 years, it has 23k on the odometer, and I could not be happier with the car. I love all of the idiosyncrasies of the car of which it has many many more high performance and race heritage parts than even the video went into. I have had several fellow club members who drive C7 Z06s and have looked for bragging rights against my ZR1, which on paper they should have, only for them to go home with their tails tucked between their legs........my '09 JSB ZR1 and my '90 Quasar Blue ZR-1 keep each other company very well in the garage!
Hads a 13 GS my first Corvette since 73. The ZR1 was a dream car and that dream came true in 2022 I purchased a 2011 with 5000 miles it's an AMASING car Hope to keep it in the family forever.
Hey Lyle. Always enjoy your show.
Great video! I’ve always wanted a C6 Zr1, finally bought one this past August! “09” 16k miles…this one is staying in the family…nothing quite like it…I’ve owned Mustangs, Camaro, Challenger, Vettes just have a special unique feel to them…and unless you’ve owned one it’s hard to explain…aside from the obvious reasons..😎👍
Dude. Prices will never dip if you talk about them! Man, I shoulda bought that roughed up one back a couple of years ago. Easily my second favorite Vette behind the 96 GS.

C6 ZR1 was my dream poster car growing up. Now that I own one I absolutely love it and it is so much better than I had dreamed
WOW!
Great share and thank you. (:
When I first saw a Zr1 I thought, what the $%&k?
Then I did some research and realized what it was. I was blown away that Corvette was at that level of performance. But then again wasn't the C4 Zr1 also a world class performance car for its time?
I’m the proud owner of a JSB Z06. I had the chance to get a new Stingray, let that go, and then a new Z06 but couldn’t justify the price with my budget. I still love my car.
The C6 ZR-1 in JSB is my dream car. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I own a 2012 base and love my vette. If i was rich i would have looked for a zr1

Excellent, excellent video 👍🏼👍🏼🙏
I’m one of those guys who stumbled onto a 2010 magnetic yellow ZR1 with 1500 miles on the clock. Guy was going through a divorce and sold it to me for 50 grand. Love the car 👍🏼
all I need is good company , good weather , and the top down. A competent car is only an enhancement.
Purchased a 2009 ZR1 in 2011, had 8,000 mi on it, a great car that I added a few features that I wanted. You are right most did not know the what lurked under the skin, only those who knew the car. Sadly, I sold it several years later but have fond memories of this great car! Tom
Thank you Lyle.
Insightful info !
Happy Friday Lyle!
Same to you! Enjoy the weekend!! 😊
1957, 1981
Perfect!!
I got 1981 right but i made the mistake of thinking the fuel injection started in 1985 after the crossfire 😭😭😭
@@jaypioh But now you are just a little bit smarter than you were before! That is a win in my book... Lyle
Thanks
Awesome video Lyle!
I bought one last year, have it in portugal Europe, what a beast, even stock it scares the hell out of most people, the power is sick, like Clarkson said you have to be mad to buy one😂 that is why you should.
I had the c4 zr1 before brilliant car, but not the same animal. All you guys out there if you like adrenaline, you have to try one. Sorry not planning on selling mine.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Right when i was able to afford a C6 Z06 and ZR1 they started going back up again Z06 use to be under 30k and the ZR1 was under 50k
Great video man!!! Really nice. 👍🏻 - Nash in Chattanooga Tennessee 😎
❤👍👍 i love my 2012 Grand Sport enjoying your show
I have a 2002 c5 base z51 stick . It is a lot of fun. If I could get a zr1, you bet your ass I would, but here in Canada they are $120,000 to $150,000. A whole bunch out of my price range. 😂😂
Just have a 2011 black base model but having so much fun with it, and I can my top off. ❤
I can take my top off.
Lyle, I realize that everyone and their dog wants their favorite car covered, But I feel like you should do the C5Z06. There aren't a lot of videos really covering the history And how great of a car that was in its time and i think it could use some love.
Well, that IS my favorite car, and I will be doing a video on it this week! :) Lyle
Thanks, Lyle!! I’m a 2009 C6 Z51 owner and IMHO the C6 is highly underrated but especially the ZR1.
Curves not angles….
I love my ‘07 coupe, M6, and targa top! ☀️🌴😎
Great cars! I own a C7 ZR1 and it’s amazing also, don’t see myself ever selling. I would love to hear you do a similar breakdown on those. Thanks
Nailed it! but shhhhhhh! I want to buy one to match my 19 C7 ZR1, but prices keep goin up more we talk! haa! great vid! thanks for these
Please make a video on the T Top noises. I have a creak in my C6 T Top unsure what to check.
Rochester mechanical FI was out in 64 I think. Last carbureted c4 was 82
All ZR1s are a special cars what ever generations it maybe the C7 Z06 is a good buy for what you got the C7 ZR1 is simply outstanding
Trivia:
I dont know the exact years, but Fuel Injection was first time on a C1, so i would say 1958.
And Carburator was last time on a C3, so i would say 1979 or 1980 because after that came the CFi.
First 63 last 81.
1963 on first year as an option for fuel injection and 1983 last year for carburetor.
1957 1982
57 and 81
C6 ZR and C6 Grand sport coupes are the real picks.
Other collector cars C5 z06 in original condition and C7 ZR1. Low numbers or just good performance cars. The. C5Z is fun fast and simple. Same on the GS c6 coupe.
1958 and 1982
1957 1984
63 and 81
So close!! :)
57 and last carb 80
I have a 2006 base, and it's fun as hell. I can only imagine a Z06 or a Zr1 would be.
You can upgrade your c6 for a good price.
I also have a base 06 and love it. I purchased the solar performance from C&S, and it made a huge difference with instant pedal response. I highly recommend it.
I would love to know where I can find a decent ZR1 with around 20 K miles for sub 70 K
1957 1981
Perfect!!! :)

Can you delete the cylinder deactivation??
There is a kit, I only know of the one for the C7, it's a big and expensive job.
@@kfh1 it would be worth it
@@rrf6747 I agree, if I were to buy a C7, I'd get it done for sure. I have a C6 with the LS3.
@@kfh1 I got a 2012 c6 base ls3. Would love a c7 but glad I don't have to deal with the headache of cylinder deactivation. Or going through the process of deleting it.

Wondering if I should sell my Supercharged C7 for a C6 ZR1.... 🤔
only the base c7s have the afm , if ya ainn't got the c7z or above ya got a base , the c7z doesn't have the afm , all 8 cylindares are running all the time
That is incorrect. According to GM: The Corvette Z06's capability is rooted in its LT4 supercharged 6.2L V-8 engine with direct injection, Active Fuel Management™ (cylinder deactivation) and continually variable valve control. Only the ZR-1 didn't have it. Lyle
