    Truly one of the songs of all time! My favorite part was when John said it’s “Frusciantin time” and Fruscianted all over the listeners

    I am very happy I discovered this! Had no idea the guitarist of RHCP was making music like this. Reminds me of Varese.

    I actually love this song. It's hardly a summer banger that you'd put on in your car driving down the 405.
    I think it's very interesting and emotional if you're in the right mindset and place to recieve it. Then its abstract sounds will paint a different story to everyone who listens. To me when I listen it makes me think this is a radio distress beacon from deep space and it has been distorted badly so you don't hear the words any more, just the distress of the person/thing sending it. It's quite emotional to listen to.

    I want to know an important truth: Would you even consider listening to this more than once if you didn't know it was made by John?

    • @scartissue121

      I often think about this because having a bias with musical taste is wrong. But I think its more of a context thing. I hear this song in a different way after listening to so much of Johns material in the past, rather than hearing it from an artist I know little to nothing about. Its a very good question tho

    • @TanguyBlanchard
      @TanguyBlanchard 6 років тому +8

      Really interesting question...
      I think we're conditionned because we know John has this awesome signature of stuff being weird or even awful at the first listen and then getting fucking beautiful, so we stay. Placebo ? Real thing ? Who cares, I'm glad I know it's by John because :
      I don't know if I would've listened to it if it was by someone else and there's no way to know, and the thing is I listened to it and I like it.

    • @irenahalder
      @irenahalder 6 років тому +1

      Theodor Schnelle No definitely not. But I’m glad I have listened to it more than once. But it’s testing my open mindedness to the absolute limit!

      Andrew Peterson Niandra is a special case though, a rarity, because it documents a person falling apart with absolute honesty. It grows on you. It has cult status. Many many people love and respect Niandra totally, unreservedly, and to understand it you have to know the context.

    its experimental noise, this is just an experiment that he randomly came up with while trying to find new sounds for upcoming projects. He or someone else just shared it for anyone who is interested, I don't think he is presenting this as a song rather just being transparent about his work. This kind of peice might serve as a transitional track on an album or something.
