How you use the tp is especially fascinating.

It's not just that, you also need to be timing it so that people have their attention focused on your tank. If you just dive backline alone then everyone will focus you down and kill you.

go try comp it's definitely worth it and really fun once you get into it! one thing I will say about comp though is that I recommend muting people if they tell you to switch or start flaming you, or just play with text chat or voice chat muted to start with. a lot of players don't understand symmetra and won't realise how much you contribute to the team, especially since a lot of it doesn't show on the scoreboard, so they will always blame you if they're losing and you need to be confident enough to push through and keep playing anyway
Totally recommend comp plus you get flashy gold guns 🤩. I just started the game when ow2 came out and started comp right away as it puts you in ranks anyway. I learned FAST to mute voice chat. I’m still a noob stuck in gold but I watch tons of video and play a lot so hoping to improve.
Wish I could dedicate more time to get better at OW, I love this game. Just watch you play, your positioning and target priorities put me in much better situations to get frags and TP out, thank you!

I had to take a break from ow for my university exams this was my last year and I need to graduate, but they are basically finishing and I will be back within 3 weeks making loads of content also I got a new pc and the game will look nice now 1080p high settings

Thanks! Aiming your TPs generally just comes with practice, I know the maximum distance of the TP from experience, so I normally don't need to look at the indicator (and just use my crosshair) unless the placement needs to be be precise. It's not something I would personally worry about, the more you play sym, the more it will come naturally to you. Sorry I can't really help more with this!

Blizzard has clearly put some measures in place to reduce smurfing. I wouldn’t be surprised if they store your IP address from your main then when they realize a fresh account shares that IP they start you in gold but very quickly analyze your play to basically check if it’s the same person playing. If I started a fresh account, I would not be playing with masters players within 5 games even if I won my first 4. So then you get in this weird place where your mmr is very quickly GM, but your rank is gold. Same thing happens in all of these unbanked to GM videos. Kind of sucks. They just end up being GM to GM
What are your thoughts on the changes to her secondary fire? I used to be an absolute menace on Sym but do not like her weaker-but-faster secondary at all. I used to point-blank people with it for an easy finish, or got lots of spam down the choke kills too, but neither feels as effective now--maybe with some advice I could use it better?
It is very, very good. The secondary fire is probably even better than it was in Overwatch 1. It can be hard to tell when you're playing sym but if you play against sym you will quickly realise how good the orbs are. They're way faster but still have the massive hitbox, so are practically undodgable if you learn how to aim them. My only real advice would be to practice them before you go into a game using code VAXTA.
I’m not sure you’ll still see comments on this video since I’m a bit late, but I a question I have is sometimes when you go for backline you place tp, then shoot turrets through it, then teleport yourself. Other times, you place turrets on the ground, then tp them and yourself at the same time. What about the situation determines which of these is best?
good question. there are no hard and fast rules about this, but what's important if you want to maximise your effectiveness is that you are doing something WHILE the tp animation plays. generally speaking, this is either placing a turret or charging your orb. so if you're tp bombing with 3 turrets, your options would either be: - place 2 turrets, place your tp, then place your final turret and take it - place 3 turrets, place your tp, then charge your orb and take it what you choose depends on how easy the orb shot is going to be. for example, if I tp on a widow who is scoped in and doesn't see me, I would put a turret, place my tp, then charge my orb during the placement animation, so I can burst her immediately as I exit the tp. whereas, if I tp on a cassidy who is moving around, I would put 2 turrets, place my tp, place my final turret during the placement animation, then tp through and start charging my orb ASAP. the tradeoff is that your burst of damage comes later, but your orb is much easier to hit because you have more time to adjust your aim with it and the enemy is being slowed by your turrets. there may be situations where I'm doing neither of these options in this (I'm not sure) because obviously there are some other situations (like when using your beam on the other side, maybe you want to keep your charge during the placement animation), or I may be making a mistake. at the end of the day the exact execution order is pretty niche so doing it in a different order won't harm you tooo much most of the time, although it's nice to know.

why do high rank players tend to hold further back? it seems really counter intuitive for regrouping but somehow it works, just dont understand it well
@@craeg_ The biggest example of this I can think of is on Watchpoint Gibraltar 1st point where people in higher ranks will hold the big highground and then only drop down once they have an advantage. Whereas lower rank players will hold the low ground or the mid high ground which can be easily pushed by the attackers.

@@craeg_ Once the cart is at the bottom of the valley is a good time to drop because you can kill their backline easily. But it depends on what the enemy is doing obviously.
I would normally just recommend 800dpi and anywhere between 4 and 8 in game, only copy my settings if you've researched mouse accel and you're genuinely interested in trying it

yeah guess I just got lucky because I didn't see too many pharahs, it's a pretty common switch at all ranks tbh
The thing about non-pharah players switching to Pharah is that they tend to suck. Pharah OTPs are super scary though
He says plats have good aim, but he didnt play on asia servers where golds basically aim like top500

It is very, very good. The secondary fire is probably even better than it was in Overwatch 1. Because of the map geometry. You want to force the enemy into a choke while you have the good defensive positions.

I would normally just recommend 800dpi and anywhere between 4 and 8 in game, only copy my settings if you've researched mouse accel and you're genuinely interested in trying it
