- Well, first, it's not really a go-kart, as we're on rails, so it's a speeder...
Second, we're not actually IN the Weminuche Wilderness, but just adjacent... so boom, no laws broken about motor vehicles in wilderness areas.
Now that the clickbait is out of the way...
We're on board the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad's motorcar as we venture from yard limits at Rockwood and head to Silverton and back where we'll traverse the famous High Line and Horseshoe Curve, the high bridge at Tacoma and through the canyon under the Purgatory Ski Area near Telluride to Shawn White’s ski area at Silverton Mountain.
A fantastic speeder ride on the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, with beautiful fall weather and great scenery. Thank you for taking us with you and best regards from Germany
Up close and personal, great view from this altitude!
I believe THIS VIDEO IS...the BEST view of the Durango/Silverton ng in the fall colors; I have EVER seen!!! I thought cameras mounted to the pilot of a locomotive would be awesome/This is better than that!!!! I have ridden 14 roundtrips on that line. Congrats on this video/I can't get enough of it! Surprised u didn't add a drone chasing from above....??? Kudos...I suscribed and thumbs upp'ed!
You're having way too much fun!
That's a neat look at the bridge replacement project.
Really great view from the motor car, much like a low level cab view. The other videos did not popup in the part where you are talking about other videos. Please consider doing this again while dressed very warmly in a snowstorm. 🤠🥳😸💯👍
Great ride.
Beautiful!
Would love to take that trip.
Been on the regular steam excursion several times!
I'm so jealous! 😊
Thanks man.
Ok this is low key amazing
Wow after all these years the original Needleton Water tower has finally been retired
It was retired in 1973
@@Big_Diehl I did not know that I thought they still used it in the days of it under the ownership of Charles E Bradshaw Junior When it became the Durango and Silverton before American scenic railways bought it in 1999 which historically was 10 years after the 1989 Roundhouse fire according to the documentary track through time narrated by Dennis Weaver but not regarding the water tank just talking about the fire and ownership of the line I just thought the water tower was used a little bit
@@TexasRailfan21-RailfanRyan nope… I think if you watch my Dad’s video from 1991 (on this channel) you can see it not being used….
@@Big_Diehl got it I will definitely take a look
What's that third rail you sometimes see in the middle of the track?
Guard rail
It's called a speeder not a go-kart.
Putt Putt, Motor Car, Pop Car, Gang Car, etc… we know… we’re doing it for the clicky bait cause, well, it’s the interwebs
