The story Stephen didn’t want Howard to tell was talked about on Stern’s show a couple days ago. Howard offered to give the first interview to Stephen before Jimmy because Stephen has better ratings. But Stephen knew that Howard and Jimmy were really close friends and Stephen told Howard to do Jimmy’s show first because he knew Jimmy needed the ratings and because of how close they were. That says so much about Stephen and how friends and relationships come before ratings. That says so much about Stephen’s character.
    Great interview by the way!

It does say so much about Stephen - I knew that the story must show Stephen in a good light and that's why he demured. He probably didn't want to call attention to either of their ratings either.

If you guys were wondering what the story Stephen didn't want Howard to tell, it was about his appearance on The Tonight Show with Fallon.
In his radio show leading up to the promotional tour of his book Howard talked about dreading going on talk shows and two of the talk shows that wanted him on were Colbert and Fallon. Howard is friendly to both Colbert and Fallon and Howard thought that if he went on one show before the other that it might seem he's showing favoritism, that is not the case. He ended up doing a coin flip to see which show he would do first and the winner was Colbert. A few weeks later Howard was back on the radio talking about how bad and stressed he feels about doing Fallon's show second, although if Fallon won the coin toss he would feel bad that he was doing Stephen's show second. Stephen heard him on the radio and called Howard (off air)and told him to do Fallon first and he's OK with it. Howard actually tells this story on his appearance on Fallon.

The problem with Stephen doing more interviews like this because most of the guests are fairly shallow people and only care about selling their movie or book. Mental health issues are one of the symptoms that phd chemist dr Andrew Hall Cutler found to be often related to heavy metal poisoning. His work was and still is revolutionary in many ways and has helped so many people tremendously. Are you kidding, Howard has zero Humility & zero Honesty, He is just a greedy prick, & a huge liar, He rips off his employees with strong arm tactics, DID YOU KNOW that for THIS BOOK, Howard put the transcripts from his interviews in there & one of his staff members Benjy contributed & wrote a majority of the questions used in the book & not only did Howard not pay him but he also didn’t even credit him, & just stole his intellectual property without crediting him & then once he was confronted by Benjy Howard Stern flipped out n told him too bad & that he will take what he wants & he won’t ever give him credit......& His unethical & strong arm tactics were very much part of a major problem especially with the E-Show & his radio show which was also televised & he didn’t even pay scale to his employees & it didn’t even reach the minimum pay of SAG & all those other actors / Writers unions, & not only that he wouldn’t let his employees send the contract to their lawyers & strong armed them to sign it, & he continually sells those shows & sells licensing rights etc ... & Howard’s Engineer for 30 years plus had his wife going through a terrible Cancer & he was underpaid at Stern Show Cuz Stern Rips everyone off & So that engineer named Scott had to start a go fund me page to try n pay for medical bills & even reached out to Howard & not only did Howard not help but when his wife died Howard sent him a 2 sentence email & then to add insult to injury he added to the email that he donated money in his wife’s name to Sterns charity.... ....Howard lies more than anyone He was so gun ho on deporting ever illegal & he repeated his stance on that several times over the years but he changed his tune in the last 4 years based solely on Hollywood

After listening to that interview, she had a whole different opinion of him. I thought to myself, "wow, he seems to have matured". Lol. My girlfriend really seems to respect him now. I know from reading other comments that some of his fans are deserting him. Well, to those people that use to love him for all these years and are now abandoning him because you found out that he actually has a heart, good riddance. So proud of Howard, He's evolved so much as a person. When people act like assholes, toward other people just for a laugh, it's almost always about there own insecurities. Howard has always been a comedic genius and one of the greatest interviewers of our time. After years of psychotherapy and addressing different forms of trauma from his childhood, he has a more positive outlook on life. Howard, now understands that his parents did the best they could, and that's all any of us are capable of. My own personal background has so many similar parallels to Stern, which is why I always found him relatable....In my opinion, he has managed to use his popularity and influence to become an advocate for therapy. There's always been such as negative stigma attached to mental health. Love is the greatest medicine there is. There's no better feeling than the human touch from people you connect with. Freeing the mind is freeing the soul! I love you Howard

They had a whole little side conversation going on there and Stern ultimately decided not to tell the story. The way they were acting, especially Stern leads you to believe that it was going to be a very flattering story about Colbert. For Colbert to be so protective makes me think it may involve a third party and the story may be embarrassing to them. I thought it was very cool that Stern clearly considered it and decided not to tell the story. That's the way it should be. We don't need to know fucking everything.
