Just bought this reel from digitaka and I will put on crazy fish Arion fishing rod 0.5-5gr, 2.09m…the rod weight is only 60gr…I hope reel will be the best for money in budget👍
I had a good chuckle at the end of the video about longevity of the reel when you said "those that fish gently and do not catch a lot of fish", I fish hard and still only catch like a gentle guy. Thanks for the entertainment : )
To tell u the truth catching is rarely what wears out reels. Keeping them away from sand and dust, proper transportation, flipping the bail manually.. ive never had to get rid of a reel just becUse it got worn out
Excellent video, so satisfying to see a good day of catching. Thanks for taking the new Legalis out! I'd be interested in how you set your drag for fishing, maybe one day you can show us a 'pull test' or something, on the line to see whereabouts you have it. I'm always wondering if I'm going too light or too tight. 👏👏
Definitely use the Presso series rods. Snap the tip on one though which was my fault now now the 6’6 is 6’4 and going strong! Some nice catches Victor! Have a great week!
Will adding the ifish grease make a big difference to the sound and performance of the drag of this new Legalis LT, it sounded pretty good to me in the video.
No sir, this reel feels great out of the box! I don't know how, since the felt is so TINY.. But im not gona lie, it performs great out of the box. If one year from now it wears off and starts to surge - come see me.
I'll have to tinker with my Regal and Ultegra this off season. Do you have a how to video on greasing your reels? I'll have to purchase your drag grease and get them ready for this coming spring
all reels are a little different. I don't have a good video, even though i do talk about it every time i open a reel. My grease is only for drag and nowhere else in ultralight reels. Well there is one other spot but its hard to explain. Under the oscillation gear there is a S-shaped bed where the oscillation pin runs. There its good to use my grease as its heavy and will smooth down operations for a long time. But nowhere else. It is waterproof and stays on teeth for a long time and offers excellent protection, but adds a lot of resistance, which you don't want in UL reel. Adding resistance is the whole point i use it on the drag, to slow it down and get rid of surging.
scratching noises that you cant locate, its coming from the line roller (thats why you cant located it with ur ears, its always moving).. I started getting a scratching noise this weekend on my 2000s-p and I dipped just the line roller in the water and went away. So now I at some point gotta get a t9 driver so I can install these bearings. Also I am the guy that just bought only bearings off your webpage you SOB ;P!

its not for switching your whole type of fishing. I wonder why people don't get just one package to try them. So much noise about them and people are not even curious. Bearings will not improve your fishing, but a matching set of my floats and jigs will. You will see things you have never seen before. The information transfer is from a different world. For the record, i don't need 4 dollars for a pack of jigs. I make a good living without any of this at all. How heavy it's the rod ? Before taking fishing in serious, i bought a rod from a chinese well known site, with 30 bucks, that has only 60 grams for 200 cm (fuji guides, T30 carbon fiber construction). The rod it's quite a good quality, and with the reel (another chinese thing : kastking VE2), i arrive at 206 grams in total. Everything was 70 bucks and it's quite good for perch fishing with micro cranks, micro spinners and micro lures.
Do you prefer shallow spool or deep spool for more line capacity like in the American for size 500-2000 reel? Have you ever did a video covering this topic?s
I like the current Japanese shallow spools, even though i have to put backing even on them, because my line is so thin. But i don't mind a little backing. I put backing one time, for the entire life of the reel. Backing helps hide the knot that connects the two lines, u can cinch it and hide it there. I don't feel strongly on this subject, i think both daiwa and shimano have good variety of spools offered. I also don't hate deep spools, even though i don't use them. If you want to use spinning reel for trolling or in saltwater or cast from a bridge or something... u may need more line capacity. As long as both are available, i have no complaints
Great video! I am a huge fan of Daiwa reels and use an Exceler for one of my bass rods. I'm ordering a light (50g) UL rod fro Japan right now, a Major Craft, and am thinking of pairing with a 1000 Legalis, Exceler, or Fuego. In your opinion would this be too heavy of a reel? Spending 3/4x for a Presso is tough to swallow to save 1.2 ounces. Is there something else you might recommend in 1000 size? Thanks
the new Legalis 1000 or 2000 would be perfect for that rod! I agree, no need for presso for that rod and in some ways the Legalis is better than the Presso. FOr example i like the drag and the drag sound of the legalis better. You can go to my shop and order 4 bearings for your legalis. Two of them replace the plastic busihings in the knob, and the other two replace the plastic bushings in the line roller. U will have a legalis with more bearings than a Presso : )
I like the new legalis the most out of the 3. But if the ild one is $60 and u r on budget thats a good deal too. Even miravel is nice. U cant go wrong woth these 3.
Reel looks beautiful in the sunlight. I just picked up 4 miravel reels for less than $65 each delivered (an offer I couldn't refuse), so maybe I won't be buying legalis this year. The one problem I discovered with miravel ( I'm sure Sahara same) the oscillation gear seems to spin on frame of reel which maybe bit garbage for longevity.
No, it is not garbage, there is no pressure at all on that gear. None, whatsoever! All the pressure is on the rotor and main gear. This simply moves spool up and down but not connected to rotor.

Sedona doesnt have a bearing under the pinion. If u dont know what that means then maybe it doesnt matter for u anyway. Other than that and the extra weight, it feels very nice.
