I’m from Los Angeles, CA. I heard about Mariza about 6 or 7 years ago. When I first saw Concerto em Lisboa in its entirety I got teary eyed. Everything about that was amazing. Luis Guerreiro on Guitarra Portuguesa, Mariza’s powerful voice and her emotion. Great intro to Fado as that concert has a lot of fado classics. It inspired me to get a guitarra portuguesa of my own. And now I’m on my own musical journey even at the age of 32. Beijinhos!

A big mistake that non Portuguese do is that, FADO isn’t to be heard it’s to be felt, you close your eyes and just let it take care of your body and soul. That’s how you hear FADO. Regards
