Just found your channel. And I have a small porch too. I am like you I am from the south and have already got my ferns. LOL Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks. I also added you on FB and IG. Look forward to see your upcoming videos. TFS!!
Asparagus fern. Likes shade and sprinkle water on it, it likes humidity. To hang your plants lower I buy chains that you can get in the garden centers and hang plant from them. I think hanging them just about eye leval makes the porch look so nice.
Thanks!! Your porch looks fantastic, especially at night with the fun party lights. I just want to sit there with a glass of lemonade and listen to the birds. Thanks for sharing your creativity.
So cute! I grew up in the South & my relatives always had pine straw in flower beds along the house. When I moved to Washington state no one here puts pine straw in flower beds. The salespeople at Lowe’s & other places acted like was crazy for asking for it. I miss the pine straw flower beds. I think it looks so nice. Your white hydrangeas look beautiful. I call your foxtail fern asparagus fern. Love your refreshed front porch!
I love how your porch turned out. We don’t really have porches in England. Love your furniture and plants especially the hydrangea and ferns. The ferns seem so Southern to me. I can picture you drinking sweet iced tea and looking at that gorgeous view.
This video is so comforting! We’re moving to a rental while we sell our house, and some family members don’t understand why I want to spruce up the rental outside. But just because it’s temporary doesn’t mean it’s not home! I look forward to watching your other videos to see how the past years progressed for you 😊
Your porch turned out beautifully. Little bit of paint changes and refreshes the look of the porch. Putting the straw and potted plants at the base of the home made it all come together. TFS and have an amazing week.❤
We call that fern an asparagus fern here in Southern California they do really well here with the heat and they get quite big hard to get rid of once planted in the yard they trail. Love how the porch turned out.
Absolutely charming! It looks so cozy.I Love everything you've done. Nice touch with the overhead lights. I will stay tuned to see more of your style. Thanks for sharing.
It turned out so pretty. The ferns are really a must have for me also. We use pine straw/ pine needles in N.C. I like the exposed wood..country look. Keep it up. Look forward to visiting you..have my sweet tea.🌞
your porch is looking good you take he time to plan it out well. I cant wait to see the finish product of the front and the back, Your decision to stay was a good idea it seems like you are enjoying decorating this spring and summer season. Keep the ideas and knowledge coming.
Always love green black and white for the outside patio! Classic and so fresh for Spring!! The little bistro set is so cute!! Love the beautiful ferns and all the plants! The basket is so cute too😘
I wintered two of mine over in the house. I live in N.Y. Zone 6a 6b so too cold in the garage here . I plan to divide them this spring so I have four. They are more expensive than the regular asparagus ferns so it will be worth it if you can save them.
Cute space. I always hang ferns on my porch too. I recommend hanging the ferns lower with chains from the hooks and putting a plastic liner to hold the water under the ferns. . I’m in Texas and ferns need water every day in the summer. Thanks for sharing your space. 😊
Try putting your wreath hanger on the glass door and then hang your wreath on the outside of the door then you can close your glass door. I do that all the time.
Thanks so much for that suggestion. I just did that. I have not been able to use my thick wreaths because of the small space between the storm door and the entrance door. I don’t know why I did not think of that!
Everything looks beautiful Holly. You did a wonderful job with decorating your porch and the landscaping around your home looks great the way you used straw and the potted plants . So welcoming and inviting. Great job ! Love the lights on the porch ceiling also .
Such a great idea, my porch is longer than wide. Ya actually have to walk around a chair. Very narrow! I love those fox tail ferns they last forever. Ps. Where are ya in the south. I’m S. Carolina
Such a great job on the porch!! I love the rugs! The fern is an asparagus fern. I love ferns as well! The string lights are such a smart idea!! I really enjoyed your video!!
The porch looks great!! Love the new table and chairs! Maybe get some pavers to raise some of the pots in the corner of your straw beds to stagger the height and give the area more dimension.🌸
Holly! I think that you did a fantastic job! I really loved your little stove... so sorry to see you move it! I was looking for one for our porch! but having a table and a couple of chairs is never a bad thing! and I do believe the fern that you got is an asparagus fern. or that is what we call it! thanks for sharing! xoxo
You did good Hollie. I have never heard of pine straw until watching your channel. In my neck of the woods we have about 3 more weeks until it’s safe to plant flowers & my garden. I can not wait!!! I always go all out, but I love it.
Hollie, love the lights and the bistro set. Lights really make any area feel festive, summery and fun. Looks so nice. The pine straw is definitely something I haven’t seen much of up here in PA. But I love the look. It immediately made the area around your home look more manicured. Thanks for sharing.❤️Leslie
This was great and I got a lot of good ideas! I especially love the white, black, and green area! I will do that! The one thing I would change is to take your cute little pillow and put it somewhere else because it is way too small for that cute bench chair. You need a bigger pillow for it. Great great video! Thank you!!
Love the lights. They added so much character to that ceiling. We call those ferns asparagus ferns here in Texas. They get HUGE and really make a statement in a large container. Love it girl!
That is a foxtail asparagus fern, and a little tip for your Boston ferns is to repot them in a larger pot with some compost or potting soil and they will get huge! They are always pot bound from the nursery and ferns like water and shade. It will help them last all summer and into fall. I always buy the cheapest ones I can find, trim any dead or brown leaves and after repotting and some fertilizer they are huge in a few weeks. Another great fern to try is the Macho fern , they get ginormous if you repot them so their roots can spread out.
Agree black white and green do seem to pop. My house is tan siding with a green door so u went with black and white furniture and a floral welcome mat to give a pop of color
I love it! Yes, I could porch sit in this lovely area!! I'll bring my book and my swert tea. Don't be surprised if you have a bird nest built in your hanging fern.❤🌿
Hollie, thank you so so much for sharing this video! We have such a tiny little porch area and I keep wondering what to do. I’m going to see how I can jazz up my tiny area using some of your great ideas! 🪴🙌🏽🌿🚪🤍 I love what you did to your porch and the potted plants around it!! 🌼🐶🏡
Hi Holly! I actually love the exposed beams and metal roof from your entryway, I think it adds to the farmhouse charm, and the string lights added the perfect touch!😍
I've followed you for a while and I really loved this video! I feel like you're coming a long way with how you make your videos, keep up the good work! You're always improving, whether or not you even realize it
