What a great video!!! The details and the technic we're incredible!
Hi there.. Thank you for your kind comments my friend 👍👍
Hello John, beautiful job on the iPad Mini repair. That heater pad is just the thing for screen removal - very neat. Regards, Dave
Thanks Dave, yes I love the heated pad. It's my new favorite tool 🙂
Hope you're all keeping well my friend.
John
@@OrbiterElectronics All still well here John. Say Hi to Carol for us.
Excellent video, much better than some of the others online! Going to purchase a few of those screen clamps, neat little units. Thumbs up & subbed!
Thanks for the kind comments Bob 👍
@@OrbiterElectronics You are welcome Sir!
perfect video .thank you
Thanks buddy 👍
Nice video John.
Thanks Scott 👍
Smashing job john, looks like nothing ever happened :-D
They don't make it easy to replace the screen, pity they didn't use the magnet fixings in the vertical all in one apple machine.
I helped a mate replace the hard drive with a ssd in his vertical machine, just magnets held the screen on, i found it to be quite a novel idea.
Apparently some people have broken the screen trying to take it off, god knows how as it's so easy.
Thanks Harv, yes I love it when only magnets are fixing something in place. Normally makes for an awesomely fast repair or upgrade.
You've got to break a screen initially mate, it's the law 😁 👍
John
Interesting, I never thought of a heat pad for the adhesive around the screen. I guess I could try the 3d printer heat bed and just set the temperature down lower, but I have never had an issue with the real 3M adhesive (same stuff you use). I did have issues with cheaper adhesive that come with some screen kits, that’s when I finally bought a roll of 3M. That’s ingenious using those phone tripod holders as clamps, I like that.
Hi Scott, even using the 3m double sided tape I sometimes can still have an edge lifting slightly. If this becomes a problem I jusr use the B7000 glue. Its good stuff & suitable for screens, especially if say a screen digitizer is coming away from its frame or something like that, which I've seen a few times on some of the poorer displays.
If you mean those silver clamps buddy.. They're actually dedicated screen clamps. Excellent little things to have IMHO you must get some 👌
Cheers mate
John
Orbiter Electronics Wow, those clamps look very similar to a couple of phone tripod clamps I own. They even look like they had threaded holes for the tri-pod screw mounts. I can find this being sold anymore, so maybe they decided to remarked this since plastic phone holders seem to be cheaper and own the market now.

@Darian Baker @luke kannon Your right, no one cares. It has nothing to to with this channel or my comment. You and Luke can take your spam and leave since you both posted minutes apart and both have new accounts opened on the same day. Or its a bot, but my comment will get Johns attention to delete these, lol.
Greetings!
A good tool, adaptations, and most importantly, skillful hands are the key to success!
I independently changed the battery in the same tablet and failed for $ 100.
When cleaning the display module with isopropyl alcohol from the old glue, alcohol was sucked in between the touchscreen and the display, in addition, the LED backlight began to work only on one side with triple brightness.
Waiting for a serviceable display module from China is always a lottery with an unpredictable result.
Therefore, I turned to the local, as it were, official service.
Where did you purchase the display module?
How to remove old glue?
Do you think the display itself is damaged if alcohol got between it and the touchscreen?
After all, when separating, without experience, it is possible to damage the polarizing film.
May I ask, why did you apply the B-7000 glue before the adhesive double sided tape? Is the B-7000 glue necessary or is it possible to just apply the double sided tape?
I always apply B-7000 glue over the buttons bracket feet (where it contacts the glass.) If you just use double sided tape you'll find that once you start pushing the button during normal use it will push the button bracket off the glass.
How long and at what temperature you had the ipad placed on the heatpad?
I don't normally have it that hot really.. perhaps 50-60℃ for a few minutes, It burns my hands if it's much hotter. If I then need more heat, I'll use the hot air on the specific parts.
@@OrbiterElectronics thank you! Appreciate it.
@@cricketkajunoon No problem buddy 👍
Yo can u fix my xbox one plz
What is that liquid?
The stuff at 12:44 is solder flux.. And thestuff in the B-7000 tube at 27:20 is glue.
@@OrbiterElectronics oh thank you so much but in some videos i saw that they separate the lcd and screen, after that they will change the screen and what is the transparent tape they using to combined lcd and screen? Thanks
@@mandelpino6331 To bond a screen to a digitizer you would either use a suitable liquid adhesive, or adhesive transfer tape, this comes in many sizes and can be cut to shape. I don't bother with this type of repair as it's too time consuming.
@@OrbiterElectronics i dont have money to afford both lcd and screen i can only afford the screen
@@OrbiterElectronics i mean the tranparent thing that other vieos here in youtube used, after they separeted the lcd and the crack screen, they will changed a new screen and they will put a transparent it's kinda double sided tape then after they bond the lcd and the new screen they will heated up
I would have told my mother not to be so clumsy and go and buy another. Mind you, you probably like your mother!
LOL 😂..
