Brilliant video!! I have ordered the parts to build this. One question I did have though. I know this is a year later, but I see that the JST connector you used is not a right angle connector. Does that interfere with the 3D printed case? I wanted to print the case and wasn't sure if I needed a right angle JST or if the vertical would be OK. Again, great video!! Thank you!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video! I didn’t put mine in a case in the end, so isn’t an issue for me. You are right though, a right-angled JST connector would be best if putting in a case. Enjoy your build and playing with it afterwards!
hi how do you get the folders to show up on screen
I cannot get the pi and LCD to turn on. The fastloader come up on booting the C64 but the rest is dead. Do I need to jump any of these pads in the back of the fastloader board? There are two solder jumper pads that say VCC and two that say GND.
Yes, the pads on the back of the board need shorting, which pads depends on the pinouts of the display you have. On the display, the pin order will be labelled as either "VCC-GND-SCL-SDA" or "GND-VCC-SCL-SDA". See how the power pins are switched around, which one you have depends on the manufacturer of the display. Short the pads with a blob of solder as below.
For "VCC-GND-SCL-SDA" short both lots of VCC pads on the rear of the board.
For "GND-VCC-SCL-SDA" short both lots of GND pads on the rear of the board.
Nice video. I can't find the pinouts for the serial DIN connector. Do you have them by any chance?

Where i can get dos1541 file you say i got it but i don't that stops my way to make a sd cart???
This is included in the VICE download. vice-emu.sourceforge.io/windows.html
After downloading and extracting VICE, search the folder for the required file.
