I'm glad you did both, Unsinkable has been living rent free in my head since it released. Both songs are used for the same map/stage, with Chasing Dawn playing at a lower difficulty score (risk), while Unsinkable plays at a higher difficult score (risk). I always liked the contrat between the two, where Chasing Dawn is triumphant while Unsinkable feels "heavy" (the map is sea themed, so it always makes me think about being at depth with the pressure -- in a way it somewhat reminds me of an album called Pelagial by The Ocean Collective, which has that exact theme), and feels more like you're fighting for your life.
oh shit das me Thanks so much for reacting to these! I'm glad you enjoyed them as much as I do, and hearing your thoughts on them is always a fun time. For further context, these 2 play during battles against the Seaborn (sea monsters basically) in what can be assumed to be a nest of theirs (so underwater). The first track, with the powerful and loud vocals, to me, sounds like a grand introduction, as if saying "You would fight US? HERE?", and in contrast to the 2nd track, the vocals are much clearer, giving me the sense that its near the surface, where its easier to make things out, where more light filters through, where the safety of the surface is right nearby. And then the second track, Unsinkable (funnily enough we seem to be on a sunken ship, looking at the map), is darker, maybe heavier? You could think of it as us fighting deeper in the sea, deeper into the nest, in deeper, darker waters where movement is hard; its almost suffocating. So while its not as intense as Chasing Dawn, I think it certainly conveys the feeling of being in a much harder fight where everything, even the environment is against you.
continue to request the babel event boss theme "the opening" o: if you feel like doing two, consider the lobby theme "storyteller" as well (since they are both short), but do storyteller first because the difference between that and the boss theme are day and night chasing dawn sounds a lot like nier but it's probably not something i'd put on my playlist. i'd put unsinkable on it though
What in the Nier Automata is Chasing Dawn, I love that sound so much. As someone who's been playing AK since day 1 I'm surprised every time I miss some of these tracks, some are so well hidden they just slip past me while I play... honestly I should probably play with sound on more often. For Unsinkable I also just love when they use stuff like typewriters, clocks, and other mechanical elements as percussion, it gives off the dreadful feeling of time running out, some tracks almost make it anxiety-inducing in the best way possible
For Chasing Dawn, you kinda interpret it as the first boss of the game already having a grand leitmotiff. While Unsinkable is kinda like a mysterious boss who's testing the waters against the player, or like an invitation to a challenge from an old friend-turned boss. But at the end, they are both used to fighting sea monsters.
I suggest Rapier would be an intresting to see you reaction to. It is a character theme for Irene, but it is completely instrumental and continues Iberia/Ocean theme like last OST's for arknights you reacted to. Love your vids, keep it up, king!
As you praised Gareth Coker (wow, 6 months ago, "Gravitational Field"), I'd like to recommend Dorothy's Vision event OST by him (lobby 旅程, battle 因變量 and boss 夢境蘇醒, all sum to ~7:30).
@@Di-ys2uh a bit correction, while it is Nier:Automata reference, it's more of FFXIV x Nier collab. That exact fight in FFXIV x Nier collab has Grandma (Destruction) ost. And wheels has used FFXIV references a lot in his videos.
Finally! I've been waiting for you to listen to both of these bad boys, but I'm here to give you a little fun fact. For Unsinkable, there is actually two version that was released, this one being the official and the other one is from in-game, difference between Official Release & In-Game is that the In-Game OST have more alterations in the end and kinda make it more Dramatic (?)
The way Arknights events work is that it's basically a level pack of around 15-30 levels you can clear, with a short story available to read for clearing the first 8-10 of them. They are available for 2-3 weeks, and get rerun a year later. After the rerun they become permanently available for all players, but with less rewards.
Great video and breakdown of those 2, I really like how both of them sound and they're very enjoyable to listen to and they fit in very well with the map. I've noticed you haven't reacted yet to Limbus canto 7 boss battle 2, 3 and 4, all of them are really good and I'd like to see you listen to all of these at some point

The Seaborn are truly terrifying the last build up in Unsinkable can be viewed as a final stand before being wiped out 😮

I second this as well, Dorothy's Vision OST (綠野幻夢OST) has some of the best bizarre sounding tracks
FINALLY!!!
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR ALMOST 9 MONTHS!!!
Thank you so much for the 2 songs, I love your reactions to combat themes
"Bloodstained Oath" Please?
Those are the battle themes of the event
1st one is if you have less than a certain amount of points
2nd is when you're above the threshold
Thank you for reviewing Chasing Dawn! This is a track I've listened to hundreds of times
Arknights has some bangers, my favorite being "street", for the vibes.
Is it just me or does that sound like Grandma Destruction from Nier Automata
Wheels referenced Nier:Automata in CCB2 animation with this music too

No you're just thirsty
@CatharsisYT yes and i need emo tears to sustain me
