This is why I love watching your vlogmas episodes in the Twixtmas days - I feel like a get the Christmassy feelings without all of the stress of executing my own 3 day marathon of cooking, cleaning, early mornings and late nights hosting, etc. Lovely, lovely, lovely. I’m watching from Queensland, Australia and it’s been a scorching Boxing Day- 33 degrees, 35 degrees yesterday. I’ve been cooking in this heat as our air-con broke. Usually, my baked ham is the star of the show, but for Framily Christmas on Saturday, I did slow-cooked lamb and a lemon and Spanish onion stuffed chicken with the biggest Yorkshire puddings I’ve ever seen lol. That was my highlight! I loved the carols at Royal Albert Hall- I imagine if I was there in the flesh I would have cried for sure. Thanks, Josie & Charlie- Merry Christmas xx

Watching on Christmas Day evening here in Ipswich Massachusetts. After lots of celebrating and hosting our family this was what I was looking forward to doing to relax before bed. What a way to end Vlogmas. My favorite part is hard to say, but probably the Advent calendar. You inspired me to do one for my 21 yr old son whose home from college he lives far away in TX most of the year, so we miss him dearly. He felt special with a massage and a few holiday festive events we did as a family in Boston. Most days were just nice chocolates but it was fun. I didn’t do clues but maybe next year. Thanks Josie & Charlie for sharing your lives with us. Wishing you both a Happy Christmas and a safe & healthy New Year!

Sweet potatoes in orange cups, asparagus wrapped with prosciutto, maple glazed carrots and starter salad with apple slices plus apple cider vingarette. Unfortunately, my husband, children, and I were all under the weather, so no one was really feeling like eating but we had an amazing Christmas spending a relaxing time together. However, we had sushi last week to celebrate with friends so that is my favorite thing that I ate. Charlie,You did amazing at the advent calendar, please don’t give yourself such a hard time 😊 Josie, I am new here but I did try making your cheese sauce from watching one of your vlogs and I have to say it was the best Mac and cheese I have ever ate. Thank you for sharing and thank you for putting the effort into vlogmis! We don’t have Boxing Day in the US but I hope that you enjoy❤️
MISE EN PLACE ~ the preparation of foods before service. As a recipe developer, blogger & writer, In my opinion, is the single most important part of any food service whether that be professionally or domestically. Without Mise en place you really don’t stand a chance. Secondly having a well stocked larder/pantry of store cupboard ingredients is my second must have! Little secret, create a spreadsheet that has all your store cupboard ingredients listed in sections Herbs, spices, flours, sugars, dried etc. Once every two weeks do a check list, do this at the quietest time of the day, then transfer this into a shopping list. I find that doing this, means you can do that recipe you have found while perusing, the weekend supplements, confidently, knowing you have all the essential ingredients in your store cupboard. Oh & don’t buy big bags of spices, as you should only have them for a minimum of six months, same with baking powder & the like, as this really does loose it potency! Apply this rule to all flours too. Last but not least, it’s always good to have one controlling kitchen person, that’s you Charlie…lol people will thank you for it 😂 Happy First Christmas as Mr & Mrs 🎉

Tried to watch at Christmas, but fell asleep due to fever. Been in bed with Covid since 23rd. Christmas for us was a right off. All planned cooking didn't occur. 4 days 39°C+ fever in bed. Most food landed in freezer. Hope we are well enough to enjoy New Years Eve instead.

Merry Christmas! I am watching the day after Christmas. Unfortunately, my husband, children, and I were all under the weather, so no one was really feeling like eating but we had an amazing Christmas spending a relaxing time together. However, we had sushi last week to celebrate with friends so that is my favorite thing that I ate.
Charlie,You did amazing at the advent calendar, please don’t give yourself such a hard time 😊 Josie, I am new here but I did try making your cheese sauce from watching one of your vlogs and I have to say it was the best Mac and cheese I have ever ate. MISE EN PLACE ~ the preparation of foods before service. As a recipe developer, blogger & writer, In my opinion, is the single most important part of any food service whether that be professionally or domestically. Without Mise en place you really don’t stand a chance. Secondly having a well stocked larder/pantry of store cupboard ingredients is my second must have! Little secret, create a spreadsheet that has all your store cupboard ingredients listed in sections Herbs, spices, flours, sugars, dried etc. Once every two weeks do a check list, do this at the quietest time of the day, then transfer this into a shopping list. I find that doing this, means you can do that recipe you have found while perusing, the weekend supplements, confidently, knowing you have all the essential ingredients in your store cupboard. Oh & don’t buy big bags of spices, as you should only have them for a minimum of six months, same with baking powder & the like, as this really does loose it potency! Apply this rule to all flours too. Last but not least, it’s always good to have one controlling kitchen person, that’s you Charlie…lol people will thank you for it 😂 Happy First Christmas as Mr & Mrs 🎉

Watching this twixmas. Tried to watch at Christmas, but fell asleep due to fever. Been in bed with Covid since 23rd. Christmas for us was a right off. All planned cooking didn't occur. 4 days 39°C+ fever in bed. Most food landed in freezer. Hope we are well enough to enjoy New Years Eve instead.
