Sounds a lot more deeper and throaty at cold start and especially stepping full throttle. No noticeable drone inside he cabin, which is a big result from the X-pipe.
Why picked X-pipe over straight pipe or H-pipe ?
X pipe from my experience keeps the drone level low and gives it more of an exotic race car sound compared to the H-pipe and straight pipe. If you are looking to get your car louder with more of a deep raspy/old school muscle car tone id recommend a H-pipe or straight pipe over the X-pipe.

I love how the car was in eco mode in the 100 kmh to 180 kmh test xD
It wasn’t. It was in sport mode. Eco only means that the engine stops Running if you stand still e.g. at a red light
The red S next to the Reverse gear indicator stands for Sport mode. Besides, when you kickdown it doesnt matter in what setting you are as the car will always go all out (at least a mercedes).

w212 facelift is my fav modern e-class, pre facelift i don't like the 2 piece desing of the headlights.
I didint like the pre facelift tail lights but front end in certain colours actually looks very nice but thank you appreciate it!
Ngl, I prefer the pre face lift w212.
W212 Facelift is probably the best looking modern Mercedes. The newer cars after 2016 all look the same just longer wheelbase etc. Like the C Class, E Class, and S Class had no character. It was just a bunch of identical twins that are longer and shorter etc.
@@bettywhipz6346 yes, pre facelift e63 front with wide fenders and facelift e63 rear end would be my favorite combo, which is I’m trying to build myself currently. Finding original fenders is pain and aftermarket ones are just obviously worse quality. Don’t want to put that on my car. However bumpers from Taiwan are top notch 1:1 to original. Also I like that rear doors curving on pre facelift more. After facelift they took it in a favor of more luxurious cls. And afaik, designers worked much harder and more on pre facelift

Sounds amazing! I've got a 2013 with just the large resonator deleted. Been looking at how to get the right sound and this might be it. Hopefully if I remove the secondary cats, it will still pass inspection here in NH. Good video!

I have the m273 without the turbos and I have pretty much the same setup as you with an x pipe that I am thinking of removing because it sounds overly raspy and high pitched... yours sounds much different I am assuming it is because of the turbos? Is the h pipe a better fit for an NA engine?

Not really no, has a nice little rumble but only at acceleration you’ll hear it getting louder and louder

@@Blazack no it was down here in Edmonton!, most shops can do these types of things, only when it comes to custom Down piping and tubing were you gotta go to a reputable place
@@Blazack any shop should be able to do muffler delete. That’s a fairly easy drop. Cut off that back resonator too and add an x pipe 2.5”. That’s what I did
My dad has one very similar to this, even just put in the screen in the middle, although, no distronic, I wonder if there’s a way to put it in later.
I looked into this about a year and a half ago, its not as simple as the older w211 e class, everything has to be programmed and there are a lot more modules needed, it's probs not worth it because of the very high cost involved, i'd upgrade the brake and tires instead for much less $ so he can stop better in the cold / wet

nice! i have a tune and pipes on my w212 e550 as well. wish it was easier/cheaper to get the downpipes installed. looks like we have to raise the engine, thus the engine mount included with the $4k weistec offering.

Downpipes are very expensive for these models yea😅 but tbh you don’t need to lift you engine up and get the mounts, just need the downpipes and that’s about it! I getting mine custom made with installation around the $1000-1500 mark

also, what tune do you have? i have a weistec tune and lost to a modded infiniti q50 rs 400 last sept. it was a roll race event and we started at 40, which actually really sucks for our cars. looking into a transmission tune now to maximize power in 2nd and 3rd.
@@MeesterQ q50 are lighter and the jb4 for them are a beast u need atleast 600hp to run a red sport with 400hp with jb4 tune

Thank you!, m278 is a great engine, amazing stock power and opened up quickly with a tune, I’d say it’s more reliable than the bmw 4.4. I know the bmw 50i engines had some major issues from 2010-2013 but fixed it up a bit after 2014+, but from what I’ve heard from previous owners is that it makes great power, I’d say more tuning potential than the m278 in the 2014+ 50i of course, other than that I heard they eat engine oil like crazy but they still are some great machines themselves

Yo how many mph does your car let you push before it taps out I have a 2012 E550 4matic biturbo and I only can go up to 134mph
So I'm a BMW guy, but German cars are all beautiful to me. I was looking at an M550 but the reliability of the N63 makes me iffy. I currently own an F10 535i and want a v8 but don't want it to break every 5 seconds. Would yall say this was a good pick for me?? Is the E550i DIY-able???

Ik this is old now but if u want a fast/reliable Mercedes V8 get something with the M113(K or not). So 500 models and 55 models, some of the 55s are supercharged as well and easy to make power on while still being reliable. -Dillon(Mercedes-Benz Tech)

@@andycape4697 no no ask all you want! and no engine lights, you only really get engine lights when you start messing with the actual Cats, since your sensors are connected to them!, after I get my downpipes I’ll have to get a Decat tune which bypasses the ecu and gets rid of my engine light when it does come

@@Mr.duke10783 after I go for stage 2 I’m gonna get catless downpipes, BMC filters with lifted Intakes from m157 e63s!. The stage 1 I’m running is from my own local tuner, which pushes more than the renntech flash tune and it’s not as crazy as you think tbh!

Hey I`ve heard removing the res can reduce back pressure in the engine making mpg slightly lower. Have you noticed this? Also, is the sound something that would make neighbors mad early morning? Thanks!
Deleting resonators won’t make a difference, the only difference it’ll make is it’ll make you speed more to hear the glorious engine 😂. Going stage 1 lowers your mpg by just a tiny bit but it’s way more fun. Currently stage 1 with res delete and I love it

@@chrisfarabella7901 if you have the same e550, I recommend keeping the stock mufflers, deleting the resonators and getting some downpipes, super nice sound and inside cabin won’t kill you during highway driving. Just do a regular stage 1. I’m with eurocharged, love their service and power is smooth all the way through the rpm range. Upgrade your inter cooler and water pump. The next big thing would be a black boost Intake and then it’s up to you.

No not at all, the drone you can hear at low rpm, barley but almost downs stock, until you actually step on it!

@@Seriously9898 Honestly wish I made a before and after sound and more acceleration between the stock and stage 1 tune, but if I’m being honest it wasent a huge sound different for the tune, maybe a bit more growly but nothing crazy, I think the sound will be pretty close!, but don’t quote me exactly 😅

About 510hp and 850nm, after the x-pipe mod, they said I should push around 520-525ish hp, if had catless downpipes, I’d be well over 540hp and close to 900nm of torque, that’s coming soon tho😈
@@bettywhipz6346 I'm running a 2012 E500 Cab (A207) with the M278. Remapped by quantum tuning here in the UK to 510bhp & 800Nm. Recent exhaust work by TorqueFlow to take the mufflers off. Sounds good, but not as good as yours! I really don't need more hp or torque; car is impossible in the wet. Even on dry roads it's too easy to provoke wheel spin. I also run a Golf R: only 300bhp, but 4WD and a DCT box make it much quicker point to point as I can deploy the power and be confident in the grip.

X pipe does nothing for drone. Its the stock mufflers that keep the drone out.

It’s not actually in a eco mode, it says eco for the shut off/start up feature!, don’t think it effects the performance at all, but for my next runs I’ll turn it off for less confusion
