You can use the lights in your living room, and keep them on at night so there's some illumination. Frame your headboard of your bed.
The multiple levels of landscaping gives it so much dimension! 🥰
your mid century builds always hit different
Great build once again Aveline 💚
Love this build and landscaping and I love you talking about yourself and your family while watching your videos 😊 My house is also open plan (kitchen, dining room and living room)which I ❤! So I can watch TV while cooking or talking to family/guests while cooking 😊
This is now one of my favorite soeed builds! Not only becauae of the build but because of the "conversation" we were having. ❤
Really beautiful. A great concept.
I also have a crush on the growing together bathtub shower combo! 😍
Soo beautiful! ❤
Lovely build! One of my parents best friends lived in a house exactly like this, even with a similar pond we used to go fishing in when I was a child (mid 70’ies). I’m downloading this for the save file I’m building.
Great build as usual.Looks a lot like my house which was built in 1954 in Canada.
OMG I know what i'll be building today!
I love this! Very cute. Retro houses are fun to do. Maybe because I grew up during that time. One thing you can add to retro homes is wood paneling. They were obsessed with it back then. My parents house had it in the entry area and on either side of the fireplace. Plus, our entire kitchen was half painted walls (yellow) and half dark wood paneling that always gave me splinters. It was the most awful looking paneling!! Shag carpet too.. an ugly yellow/orange/brown shag carpet. Anyways, split levels are so tricky but you nailed it even though Sims 4 build doesn't allow for it in the real sense. Oh how I wish they would!!
Aveline is the goated builder ❤
don't really know much about architectural history but i do live in one of these kind of houses, built in the late 50s, and yea, the whole main floor is like. almost entirely open. theres kiiiiinda some separation of the kitchen from the living room with a small wall, but dining and living are almost one room if it weren't for some pillars, and then the opening from dining to kitchen is just huge between a peninsula and a wide opening for the entrance. so if you're on the main floor you basically have to interact with anyone else also there (which was annoying as a teenager having friends over and my parents were always just There lol) and then it's also wide open to the stairs for both our walk-out basement and upstairs (tho that only has like 5 stairs cuz it's only up like half a regular level, hence the name split level). i've wanted to try making my own house in sims for a while but this particular style is definitely intimidating! you did a very nice job with it tho!
i love books
The reason I can’t build my house in Sims. I have what is called a daylight or walkout basement, and live on a corner lot in a cul-de-sac. So driving up the main road, my home looks 2 story, but the lot is sloping, and as you turn on the street and come around the front, my house appears to be a single story. Really the only way I would like basement living, because you have full size windows. Love all your builds. And you can never have too many books!
I can promise you, right now, I feel like I have too many books 😂😂 but once they’re in the new apartment, I’ll want more 🫣🫣 it’s just the packing and moving part that hurts lol
Also, my childhood home was the same except with an extra floor on top, so whenever I’ve been asked if I could build it ‘cause people would like to see it, I’ve had to say no ‘cause it isn’t possible 😩
Open floorplans are definitely a lot more modern than 1950s. It was key to have the kitchen separated to help keep kitchen smells IN the kitchen but also as you mentioned- for temperature control. I'm actually a fan of separate kitchens from the dining/living area for those reasons.
I guess we don’t cook a lot of “smelly” (no offence meant whatsoever, just lacking another word) food in Denmark as it’s never been something I’ve thought about before 😂
I had so many fairy lights set up in my old flat but I haven't yet hanged them up after I moved a few weeks ago. One set is danging on the side of my full lenght mirror so that the mirror reflects the light, and a couple of smaller sets I wrapped around some floor lamps - I will admit that it feels a tiny bit silly to wrap the lights around a lamp but t's a vibe okay!! I also had some lights hanged on the wall behind my bed (my bed doesn't have a headboard so couldn't do that) and of course all my bookshelves. Oh, and around some framed wall art as well. I think in this new flat I'll hang up some lights around my kitchen doorway but not sure about that yet.
Someone might say I've gone fully overboard with my fairy lights but they're just so cozy and I could live with just them on (and no, the ones I mentioned don't even include all the lights I have put in little glass jars or vases or the LED-candles or tealights....) you just need little lights in the dark nordic winter
I fully respect the fairy lights around the lamp vibe though!! Actually, now that you mention kitchen - my new one is a bit darker than what I’m used to, and during the winter fairy lights out there could be a VIBE. Many thanks 🤍
Ps your home sounds so freaking cozy
the light switches in my country are always eye level, like 1.5 ft higher than the door knob so it's always throwing me off when you put it at the same level with the door knob hahah. not here to hate, just culture shocked maybe. i always love your builds
This is absolutely beautiful!!❤
I was wondering what gshade or reshade do you use?
And how can you see through the red shelf without it being selected on the invisible swatch?😅
The preset is linked in the description! And I can’t see through the shelf? Not sure what you mean 😄
@@AvelineYTThank you!
I mean when you use the red shelf you can kind of see the outlines of the objects underneath it
What is the name of the song at the end? I love it but can’t find the name of it. I’ve scoured through epidemic sound trying to find it
I despise open floor plans. I think every single room is it’s own space,
What happens if I use this house from the gallery but just have basegame? Would I get just the shell?
You would either get the house with just the base game stuff I’ve used or, I believe, you can choose to replace all the items with “similar” items that you do have - either way it won’t look the same though 😄
Um. Why is the flower bunny just outside staring at the house? killer bunny?
Jeg havde en lyskæde omkring mit stuevindue i min gamle lejlighed, i det hus vi bor i nu er der en lyskæde i gangen så vi ikke behøver at tænde loftlyset hele tiden i vinterperioden.
i really hate that they couldnt be arsed to have the house touch the terrain in a build like this...
