  • Big-time knockouts, beautiful submissions and total domination against any opponent. That’s what made Shavkat Rakhmonov so well-know and widely recognized among the fans worldwide. The young fighter nicknamed ”Nomad” is a true MMA prodigy. He became the youngest world champion in history of amateur MMA and after that he stopped all of his opponents as a pro, now he is very successful in UFC Octagon.
Now we go back to the very beginning of Shavkat’s fighting path, so it’s time for his second pro fight that took place in 2014 at Battle of Nomads 2 event in Kazakhstan. Rakhmonov was only 20, but he already had the titles of Asian and world MMA champion, had successful M-1 Challenge debut and everyone expected him to solidify his rising star status.
Shavkat’s opponent was very interesting and experienced. Brazilian Marcus Vinicius had 10 victories in 17 pro fights by that time. According to Marcus, his base style was capoeira, so it was a honor for him to represent his style in Kazakhstan. It was a bit of conflict at the weigh-ins, but it only added the interest of the fans to this fight.
