are they still doing tours? if so i am interested, although i heard that place is up for sale. i work in Scottsvalley only 10-15 min away but i heard so many stories it has me intrigued
My ex husband and I stayed in the honeymoon cabins across from the main hotel back in 1997. There was a fireplace and we opened up the damper and we noticed that the wood was wet. It's really secluded there and you can hear the creek. So, we both walked back to the main hotel and they gave us more wood. As we were opening up our room thick black smoke was pouring out. We couldn't understand... We didn't place logs in or, tried to start a fire. My ex ran back to get help and they kind of scolded us for not opening the damper. We said, we did and we never started any fire. Then, the lady laughed and said, well.. I guess you have a special visitor here. What!?? She opened up the damper and instantly the smoke stopped and there was nothing inside the fireplace. We were so freaked out that we immediately called up our friends and made them stay in the other room. We thought it was funny that this was the honeymoon cabin that had 2 rooms. I can't believe I forgot about this until I watched this program. Yah, it was a bit freaky and in the morning none and I mean none of our clothes smelled like smoke. It was horrible the night before, and we couldn't leave the windows open very long because, of the mosquitos. That is my scary and long story (sorry)
It's open again. I just stayed there last night. It's only been open for 3 weeks, but I heard footsteps in the room above me last night in the very early morning, like 4:30am or 5am. And checked with management. There was no one checked into that room or the rooms around us. So, I'd say, the ghosts were welcoming people back. Tried some EVPs too.

I haven't been back either, but I do keep in contact with Roger Reynolds the local historian.. He's a wealth of information!

i went there for my birthday and they gave me and my friends the key to that cold room she went in. LOL it was really scary. and freeezing.
