dont think we will ever see Dalot, Rashford, Evans in these positions again and Eriksen, Casemiro just wont start whenever Ugarte and Mainoo is fully fit
Eriksen has just got an off game. He has been consistent throughout most of the games he played though. He can't play 90 min but surely has the ability to make an impact. He just needs to play higher. Also it's a new lineup so It was hard for everyone. I say him coming in the second half would be great.
When I saw the starting XI on Sunday, I thought it was a strange lineup. We scored a goal that Amorim will be pleased with, and conceded a goal that on another day would have sailed over the bar off Mazraoui’s head. Some brilliant Onana saves did keep us in it by the end, but elements are there. Half the team had two training sessions to understand his instructions. Goals will come if we keep feeding the #9. Højlund has been starved since he arrived because of Ten Hag’s obsession with goals from wide forwards. Hopefully now we’ll get to see more of the best from him.
16:23 .. personally I think he did this deliberately. He did indicate that he needed Data on players, I think he will be using a few games to test players in "strange" positions to get data on how they can conform if needed.
If you look at the press Amorim did before the game was played and the reactions afterwards… he’s visibly shell shocked… stunned even! I think this presents a few interesting talking points, I don’t think he regrets taking the job yet, but I also don’t think he realises how much trouble he’s gotten himself into. He’s inherited a squad of players who don’t understand football, who aren’t top level professionals in either ability or work ethic and I think it took watching that disaster to realise it. It’s slowly dawning on him how much of a monumental task he has ahead of him. Flushing the squad of almost all the players will take years, and the media backed agenda (regardless of performances) will see him moved on long before he can enact any permanent sort of change. It also is very relevant that RVN commented after seeing that game… that the players are instructed but DONT LISTEN… major cultural reset needed I think, even if that means releasing large numbers of players, a different and disciplined precedent has to be set to see any progress at all.
Rashford was absolutely abysmal last game, besides the goal, he didn’t contribute anything at all. His pressing, passing and running were very bad. Frankly, we need Hollund on the pitch. We need to realize that we have been patient with Rashford for way too long! Either he steps up his game or straight up need to be benched!
Only disagree with the Hojlund take really. The guy is extremely mediocre for £72M. We can do much better up front and it shows cause INEOS are looking for another striker.
@@iwantgoals1566Hojlund is a project he was a teen when we bought him he shouldn’t be starting every game but i believe he has great qualities and will be a great option in the next few years
I really hope amad plays as 10, he's our most comfortable attacker on the ball and he holds it so well. Move de ligt rcb, maza or Dalot rwb and amad at ram
We really do have excellent options for the CB roles when you consider Martinez, Shaw and Yoro coming into the conversation. That and Onana makes quite a decent base to build on.
I agree with a lot of the points Dave made but one that stood out as a sore thumb was saying Garnacho was fine. I thought he had a horrid game and looked lost and confused. I'm a fan of his, so this isn't me dunking on him. I think he just needs time on the training pitch to understand his role better. In the meantime, I'd move Bruno to the left 10 (it's his natural position if you look at his historic heatmaps). Move Amad to the right 10 as I think he is our other biggest threat going forwards right now and I'm not entirely sure about him defensively. That means we need a RWB. Until Yoro is fit and Mazraoui can play there instead of RCB, I'd probably play Dalot there. LWB would then need filling. If Shaw and Martinez are fit, then I'd play Shaw there. Otherwise, I'd either blood Amass or even try Antony there.
Amad 10, Antony RWB and leave Maz as RCB. Maz is the best CB we have and he's perfect in his role. Antony knows how to defend and will work well with Amad upfront. Amad will create chances for Hojlund.
As predicted, Eriksen & Casemiro cant fit into Amorim's high intensity system. So can we see more of Ugarte - Bruno partnership and playing Mount as n10? Especially as we can't rush Mainoo back by playing him every game. He need to slowly get some minutes back, work on his fitness so he'll stay sharp and dont get injured again. Amorim praised Mount, and we know he has won the CL with Chelsea in that system. If he starts playing game after game, he can be a crucial player in that N10 role. Meanwhile we seen glimpses of a tactically disciplined Bruno in this game when he played as an 8.. I think he can be a lethal weapon coming from behind, directing the attack when we are in position and combining 1-2s as he did with Hojlund and won a dangerous free kick.
He missed the most crucial aspect of the game which is when Bruno was moved to the CM with Ugarte..We controlled the game better and played better when this switch was made.
Good analysis bro, really enjoy your videos, thanks, I saw enough in that first game to think we'll be OK under Amorim, I watched a Sky Sports video with Ian Wright discussing the Ipswich game, he said the same, that when Ruben finds his ideal starting XI we'll slowly start to see a different beast in United, a more successful style of play. I'm hoping he can get a tune out of Hojland but I can see us delving into the market in the summer for another striker, I'll be surprised if we don't see Gyokeres at the club or someone with a proven goalscoring record in the PL that would suit the system, Ollie Watkins is a good shout. Great content, keep up the good work.
Looking forward to another game this week. Amorim said he would rotate so, I'm hoping to see Antony and Malacia replace Amad and Dalot. Put Amad in the 10 and interested to see what he does with Mount and Zirkzee. I think these 2 might impress in Amorim system. Whatever it is, let's just see more intensity this game.
@franksikazwe463 fax also if you watch the match yesterday there is point where ugarte gave bruno a long ball but the ball went out and he moaned a lot then the was a point where bruno gave dalot a long ball pass which went out and I realized is this our captain cause ugarte did the same thing and he moaned but when he doesn't it's not a big deal for him
Bruno does fit this system and the system isn’t about discipline and patience, you’ll see. The only thing I’ll say is he doesn’t have the ball carrying ability most of Amorim’s 10s have so sometimes he will be caught out but he will still be effective
I've pondered the idea of playing Martinez alongside Ugarte, I'm sure I saw somewhere Martinez has played midfield before and you then have two players with intensity which fit Amorims system. You could then have Shaw as the LCB, De Ligt CCB, Yoro RCB. I'd prefer Mazouri at RWB and Amad in front of him as one of the 10s.
Martinez is not as intense as you think. He can’t do 10km per game. You don’t notice it too much because he plays in CB where the distance covered is lesser
@Xdx-bz1uy I'd actually beg to differ, in this 3-4-2-1 system he'd actually have enough cover from the three CB's which would allow him to be able to chase down and pressure players in the smaller spaces in midfield and to play higher. He also has an eye for threading balls between the lines which from midfield is huge for this system.
Martinez used to be a CDM but he didnt have enough stamina to play that role so they switched him to the Defence at ajax.(Do your research on this interview.) The premier league is more demanding than Eredivisie so his lack of stamina would be exposed. Also amorim doesn't play with two CDMS in his system. One of his midfielders has to be a no.8 and at times be a no. 10 when he joins the attack. He has to be able to drive with the ball through the middle. Someone like mainoo, pogba, dan gore, köne, angel gomes, yaya toure etc That is the style of midfielder amorim wants next to his SOLO DM. We already have three centerbacks so another CDM is just cowardly tactics for a club like man utd.
Wow very impressive analysis! From the thumbnail I thought it was going to be same old stuff how the cb moves to midfield in buildup, but no, this was insightful.
I thought ball retention through the middle was dreadful. We’re crying out for Mainoo to return. Feels like him, Masraoui and Amad are the only press resistant players we have.
The biggest take-away, and relief, was that Amorim wasn't prepared to risk players who are "nearly fit" I think trying to analyse anything more than why we drew is about as meaningful as reviewing an entire movie based ohn a 30 second trailer. I know its the job of Football UA-camrs to analyse and ascribe meaning to every little thing that happens, but for anything like this to have real meaning it requires far more data than we have. Amorim's job is to coach the system and tactics into the squad. Not just the first 11. It takes time for the systems and positions to become instinctive. We saw in EtH's first season that it took about a month or so of crap, and then it clicked and we were playing great... What Amorim needs to do is make sure that he gets the secondary players up to speed with the system, so that he can rotate enough players in and out to avoid the injuries we got from overplaying the same 11 like ten Hag did, and then be screwed because your first 11 is depleted and the reserves haven;t played the system enough so don;t slot straight in, which led to EtH rushing people back from injury, and making all kinds of desperate team picks and hoping something worked and basically throwing the idea of a system out of the window.
There are plenty of players in the academy that fit the criteria for the position, like a glove. I only hope that the manager is allowed the time and ability to use them .

They only drew against Ipswich, which came up from the Championship and don't really have good players except for a few. Man Utd has spent like 1 billion over 2 years in contrast. It was an embarrassing result really, especially since the players would have put out their best performance because they have a new manager. As a man utd fan, i have never seen a manager with a true identity. like u can clearly see he wants to attack in a certain way not just to attack. IM SO HYPED UP
Garnacho was where he was told to be in that play. Casemiro and sometimes Eriksen were at fault. Both need to be far away from the first team. With the first choice 2x CB’s, left back and 2 midfielders, this is a completely different team. Get Dalot, Casemiro, Evans, Eriksen out of the first team and look to replace them with long term targets and things will improve immensely
Amad for Garnacho Dalot for Amad Amass for Dalot Hojlund for Rashford Evans for De ligt Shaw for Evans Mainoo for Eriksen Ugarte for Casemiro Manchester United will be back with this kind of structure
Not a fan of 3 at the back, especially if we want to keep the ball. We get pressed by ipswich easily. But i would love it if amorim can prove me wrong. Conte did it with chelsea.
i get that mainoo is the new big thing in manchester united but ive seen nothing that would indicate that he is the best man for amorin's setup, havent seen the intensity or movement amorin would want in a player but mavbe amorin can teach that
Bruno, Rashford and Garnacho all have great qualities but the 3 together just lacks balance. all 3 play "hero ball" and none retain possession or are good enough in congested areas. combine that with lack of energy and ability in midfield and its no wonder we could not retain possession anywhere other than our back line... looking forward to seeing what solutions Amorim comes up with
You don't need to make a video every time Amorim leaves his house ffs. The football media landscape in the Premier League is so suffocating, everyone just needs to chill and gave him time.
This isn't even just a point around Amorim - like, you're allowed to talk and think about other things apart from football, there are more important things. Go touch grass

No matter whoever the manager is his first or last job, fans lying about we didn't expect a win and those players who had no desire to win and couldnt deliver a win against a club recently promoted than sorry to say but they all are not worthy of that MAN UTD badge.
wow the disrespect of putting all of the players lack of quality on ten hag(ten hag isms) like ten hag taught them how to play that way....i seem to remember ten hag wanted the same things amorim is asking for from these players, right now only our defence can play next is improving the mid field then our wingers cause by that time I think our strikers would have learnt their trade which is what I think ten hags plan was cause due to ffp you can't just go fixing everything at once and the other clubs already try to rip us off with the amount they ask for for average players
@@Spudjuice-s9c I don't say the Sporting that minced Man City this year, because that needs two more years, AT THE VERY BEST, but WHEN Man Utd is able to play like 2022/23 sporting they will be fighting to be champions...
Man I’m so bored of listening that our players have no intensity and physicality, Jose to ten hag, no one changed the culture, everyone spending 2.5 years with most of the players they wanted. Hope Amorim truly get these changes in players and boot all the players that doesn’t do that.
Ten Hag tried to improve the pressing and intensity. Or has every Podcaster forgotten this? The problem is some players are negatively impacting the rest of the team with their lazy attitudes and talks of other coaches doing mmmngs differenot. Still too much player power in that dressing room
@Evranwright that's a given he's been honest since he started to put out content years ago . Pushed back on the rashford hype long before all the sheep suddenly realised he's not elite (even though he's always been mediocre with or without GA) What is really wrong with the fanbase regarding garnacho is if they can see all of rashfords faults now why do they ignore the faults in garnacho, he's literally Young rashford 2.0 without rashfords physical gifts, (less pace, less dynamic, extremely weak) but he shares the same low iq, head down poor decision making. On top of that he has even less goal threat and flair. He won't even reach rashfords peak and if he stays at the club long enough they will end up treating him like rashford after hyping him and him not reaching elite level.
Is easy to break this 3-4-3! look how the WINGERS of IPSWICH are pushing the wingback´s up to the pitch, forcing UNITED do a back five. Ipswich have 2 winger and striker holding five players on the back, this gives numeric advantage por Ipswich in the build up 7 against 5 or 8 (with GK) against 5! In the first game of Amorim is was found out, this system doesn't work in PL. The only time United can recover the ball is with is back line! Carragher saw the space but didn´t saw the wingers and the striker making the space for a easy build up! 3-4-3 have good things but have very bad thing, is not a balanced system imo!
Not a good manager I saw we were caught under Ipswich Town pressure and the only thing we did in terms of this case was clearing the ball so that strikers put their body to create a chance This ain't gonna work I wear to you
I think that game was poor. United stopped running looked tired and lethargic from the first half itself. You really need high energy fitness. When players go to US, slack off as injured... or come back from internationals... you cannot expect them to run more than the opponent. You need to outrun your opponent else Premier League relegates you!
You just cannot play Eriksen and Casemiro together they just get outran in midfield. Maybe 1 of them with Mainoo or Ugarte, but never together!!!!! Evans can't play left centre back either !!!! Rashford would have been sacked from any other job ages ago, for poor performance.
Dalot needs to model his game after Beckham and Hakimi… he’s mediocre currently. Curl balls man into the box! Antony and Diallo have a useless right foot so no crosses. Sad!

Yes they would, Foden is a CAM but is constantly playing on the wing
@@jasonmillsom2981 Is wing the same as wingback?
@@jasonmillsom2981They don't play wingback at city.
As a man utd fan, i have never seen a manager with a true identity. like u can clearly see he wants to attack in a certain way not just to attack. IM SO HYPED UP
Should do a video on how they should spend the money if they sell Rashford to PSG market vale to what is needed
Top content. 👊
Thanks Dave.
We learned that half the plauers are near on uncoachable and that they inherently are averse to hard work… but we sort of knew that already.
Name them? Other than Rashford...
@ All but a small handful of them, they’re terrible… they’re inherently bad footballers… or have incredibly poor work ethics.. or both in some cases!
Thought it was actually ok, you could see the confusion from a lot of the players though and the lack of initiative to get into position's
Amad for Garnacho
Dalot for Amad
Amass for Dalot
Hojlund for Rashford
Evans for De ligt
Shaw for Evans
Mainoo for Eriksen
Ugarte for Casemiro
Manchester United will be back with this kind of structure
Not a fan of 3 at the back, especially if we want to keep the ball. We get pressed by ipswich easily. But i would love it if amorim can prove me wrong. Conte did it with chelsea.
3-4-3 is becoming more and more popular.
Where?
Ignore the dickheads mate, great video and very insightful analysis.
This why RvN had a good time here.. Because the patterns of EtH were here.. He just tweaked it.. Arne Slot doing the same with Liverpool.
i get that mainoo is the new big thing in manchester united but ive seen nothing that would indicate that he is the best man for amorin's setup, havent seen the intensity or movement amorin would want in a player but mavbe amorin can teach that
We are already impressed Ruben structure of play than Eric Ten did in two years and half
Love to see Collyer when hes fit again
Bruno, Rashford and Garnacho all have great qualities but the 3 together just lacks balance. all 3 play "hero ball" and none retain possession or are good enough in congested areas. combine that with lack of energy and ability in midfield and its no wonder we could not retain possession anywhere other than our back line... looking forward to seeing what solutions Amorim comes up with
This season is just for evaluation of players now. New front office, new coach and staff, now time for players.
I like Amad in Trincao role in sporting they have same similarities
You don't need to make a video every time Amorim leaves his house ffs. The football media landscape in the Premier League is so suffocating, everyone just needs to chill and gave him time.
This isn't even just a point around Amorim - like, you're allowed to talk and think about other things apart from football, there are more important things. Go touch grass
This is the debut game of the manager. Why wouldn't he talk about it
Yes!! He looked so annoyed and drained with all the media obligations already. Like how Pep is as well. These obsessed fans need to find another hobby.

It’s literally his job to make content you Herbert.
Man utd rebuild :
1. Football management ✅
2. Manager ✅
3rd players. Some players need to boot out
No matter whoever the manager is his first or last job, fans lying about we didn't expect a win and those players who had no desire to win and couldnt deliver a win against a club recently promoted than sorry to say but they all are not worthy of that MAN UTD badge.
Amad will thrive.
I think amorim likes inverted wingbacks so I think when everyone is fit I see mazaroui as the left sided wingback
dave- what would be the roles in amorims system on fm24? and the positions of the two 10's.....
Second half was really balanced performance but we need to create more chances and move the ball up faster
Love these comments, expecting an overnight change 😂 give him and the players time
they think it's fc25 or something
The year is 2054
The video starts with "We know Manu need a rebuild"
wow the disrespect of putting all of the players lack of quality on ten hag(ten hag isms) like ten hag taught them how to play that way....i seem to remember ten hag wanted the same things amorim is asking for from these players, right now only our defence can play next is improving the mid field then our wingers cause by that time I think our strikers would have learnt their trade which is what I think ten hags plan was cause due to ffp you can't just go fixing everything at once and the other clubs already try to rip us off with the amount they ask for for average players
4th here STRAIGHT from Ghana🇬🇭🇬🇭
Give Amorim peace and time and in one year, Man Utd will be playing like the Sporting that eliminated Arsenal in Europe in 2022/23!!!
Agreed💯 🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱
@@Spudjuice-s9c I don't say the Sporting that minced Man City this year, because that needs two more years, AT THE VERY BEST, but WHEN Man Utd is able to play like 2022/23 sporting they will be fighting to be champions...

I see commentators forgiving his tactic for being new, but dismissive of players who don't fit. Weird.
Some really promising signs, and finally repeatable patterns of play 🙏🏻 that said, some of the lads are way off it
What if dalot plays as a holding midfielder with harry amass playing on the left wing back positon will it be good ???
Man I’m so bored of listening that our players have no intensity and physicality, Jose to ten hag, no one changed the culture, everyone spending 2.5 years with most of the players they wanted. Hope Amorim truly get these changes in players and boot all the players that doesn’t do that.
Players playing shit was not on Ten hag his style had flaws but its clear with players like rashford in the team even Amorim will suffer
I actually think Dalot can play as a backup no. 6/8.
That goal United conceded was so poor it all started from the weak physicality of Eriksen was still flabbergasted he started
we learnt that rashford is forced to be accommodated by every manager and that he aint a striker
Yet he scored u clown
Ten Hag tried to improve the pressing and intensity. Or has every Podcaster forgotten this? The problem is some players are negatively impacting the rest of the team with their lazy attitudes and talks of other coaches doing mmmngs differenot. Still too much player power in that dressing room
The gaps in midfield still worry me.
Those gaps are going to have to be coached out of the team but two mobile central midfielders like Ugarte + Mainoo will make a difference
Why are none of the fan channels being honest about bruno and garnacho? I thought the fanbase was committed to being honest in the amorim era?
Rants and bants channel
Sorry, Luke Shaw is a world class wing back? What are you on about saying his best position is LCB?
He’s not. Doesn’t have it offensively. Better deeper. He’s this generations Stuart Pearce.
Listen to this you wouldn't know Ipswich battered us 😂
Not a good manager I saw we were caught under Ipswich Town pressure and the only thing we did in terms of this case was clearing the ball so that strikers put their body to create a chance
This ain't gonna work I wear to you
yes Ten Hag wanted his players to be 4 seconds slow on defense, smh, this is not true.
I think ten Hag wanted the right things, but couldn't get the message across.
statman Dave you really imsist on harry amass so much ........i dont think he is ready just yet
We all know that Rudd was the man
We need grimaldo
i didn't like long balls. slow midfield was the cause of that, i believe
It's pronounced a bit more like AmorEEng
Statman day making hay while sun on is shining on his channel following ten haags sacking
Man said Tenhagisms
Sad!
Rashford is not a number nine striker
เยี่ยมมากครับ😊
Good job 😢😢
Shaw was brilliant??? Aint no way. Shaw cant be LCB he was always on position of LB, all the time!!! Not his best positiom. Licha is made for that LCB. But its🏴 so you must say that i understand
Amorim should have learnt not start Rashford ….
Lisandro???
