3 Day Itinerary for Tungnath Temple
Day 1: Haridwar to Ukhimath / Chopta
1.Start your journey from Haridwar early in the morning.
2.Take a bus/ Sharing Jeep to Rudraprayag, which is approximately 141 kilometers from Haridwar.
3.The journey will take around 5-6 hours.
4.After reaching Rudraprayag proceed to Ukhimath, which is about 41 kilometers from Rudraprayag.
5.The journey will take around 1-2 hours.
6.After reaching Ukhimath, rest for the night or proceed to Chopta, which is about 30 kilometers from Ukhimath.
7.Ukhimath/ Chopta serves as a base for the trek to Tungnath.
Day 2: Trek to Tungnath
1.Start early in the morning for the trek to Tungnath Temple from Ukhimath/ Chopta.
2.The trek is approximately 4 kilometers and takes about 3-4 hours, depending on your pace.
3.Enjoy the scenic beauty along the way and take breaks as needed.
4.Upon reaching Tungnath, explore the temple and surrounding areas.
5.You can also trek to Chandrashila which is around 1-2 kms from the temple, this trek will take around 1-2 hours.
6.After visiting Tungnath descend back to Ukhimath/ Rudprayag for night stay.
Day 3: Return to Haridwar
1.From Ukhimath/ Rudprayag, take a bus/ Sharing jeep back to Haridwar early in the morning.
Note
• Ensure you check the weather conditions before the journey.
• It's advisable to carry some essentials such as water, snacks, comfortable trekking shoes, warm clothing, and any necessary medication.
• Consider consulting with local authorities or trek organizers for the latest information on the trekking route and conditions.
• Transportation options may vary, so check for available buses or hire a private vehicle for the journey.
• This itinerary is a general guide, and you may need to make adjustments based on your preferences and the current situation.
