- The Voice Teens is a Philippine reality singing television competition for teens that airs on ABS-CBN. It is based on the Dutch reality singing competition of the same name. The coaches of the show is composed of Lea Salonga, Bamboo Mañalac, Sarah Geronimo and Sharon Cuneta.
This is the third version of The Voice franchise, after The Voice of the Philippines and The Voice Kids; this is also the second The Voice Teens franchise in the world and the first in Asia.

I think, kung si coach Lea lang ang papipilian, she will always choose Mica, because she has a purpose sa The Voice, and that's to revive and show the relevance of Classical music. And classical music is one of the hardest genres to sing and perfect. The challenge comes in when citizen voting starts, kasi, not a lot of people can appreciate the complexity of this genre, so many people will still opt to vote for the pop and ballad. Pero si Mica talaga inaabangan ko sa The Voice this season.
The comments show how underrated classical musics are in the Philippines. Ngayon palang may sumali sa The voice ph na yun ang forte. Puro nalang PopBallad past seasons na paulit ulit kinakanta but no one batted an eye. Tas ngayon, "nakakasawa" kasi puro yun nlng kinanta ni mica? Hahaha, to be fair, ssme genre din naman kinanta nung mgs ibang contestants ah?

I get that some people may be tired of hearing Mica sing opera, and want her to try something else. But for me, its still refreshing, since she is the ONLY contestant who sings opera... everyone else sings in the same way, talented kids of course, but I would rather have one different and consistent contestant to listen to, rather than listen to all of them sing to really popular pop songs, or hit karaoke singles.
I love musicals, i've seen a lot which is maybe why I'm a fan of mica, but, if people want her to try different song genres because their tired of her operatic choices, then I would also like to see other contestants try a different genre as well, not just pop, not just ballad..:
Singing opera means you have the versatility to switch your style because of the discipline you have in order to sing opera. So i still think mica should continue singing opera to bring something new and fresh!

I can't help but be amused at the comments here. People, let's be real: 95% of The Voice contestants either sing pop, ballad, or rock. Bakit wala akong naririnig dito na nagsasabing 'nakakasawa na ang pop, ang rock, ibang genre naman, yada yada.' Nakakalungkot naman ito sa aming mga classical music fans na gustong makarinig ng ganito ring genre sa mainstream. Huwag niyo namang ipagkait sa amin ito kasi hindi niyo naman kami naririnig na nagsasabi ng 'Pwede mag opera naman si Ganito Ganyan kasi nakakaumay na ang birit/pop/reggae niya eh. Pa ulit-ulit lang.'
Mica is Mica. Mission niyang ipakilala ang classical genre sa atin hanggang magsawa tayo dito at masanay na rin sa huli. 😂 So go Mica! Kulang pa yan. Tatlong kanta pa nga lang eh. Opera pa more! :)

Augustus Hernaez I love Kokoi! Masakit din sa akin yung nawala siya. But I admired him kasi he chose to be real and to stick to his roots even at the cost of losing to this show.

Aminin niyo, kahit opera all the way yung ni-perform niya hndi niyo masasabing ang panget nung pagkanta niya from blinds to this. Don't be rude guys! You know, you guys are just being bias with your opinion. We all does, though, but that should not be the reason to badmouth someone, or pull someone down. ✌🏻️

Mostly the people here in the comment section are asking why lea chose mica, "mica stays in her comfort zone, nakakaantok naman yung kinanta nya e, brandon is much better" it is because mica has a mission, besides that mica is unique, she is the first to sing classical and get this far, she deserves to go to the live shows, she deserves to win, and until the end i support her
kenneth park I agree with you. Besides Mica has a lot more to offer. Filipinos are not much into classical music, most of them are not familiar with this kind of genre that makes it less interesting to them. When they heard the high note they're amazed and listen to it until they are bored not knowing this type of genres difficulty, it needs discipline and vocal control along with the range

If one contestant would do a complete coloratura soprano operatic singing next time then I will agree with you. There is a big difference from putting other's down and separating others from what she can do. Get your understanding straight. Also, she is not my bet.
I love how people so proud of Christy doing that one single part opera, lmao. tbh, anyone could do that part but not the high notes that mica does. Christy didn't even sang it well unlike how mica sang normal range. Very consistent, right breathing and emotions. Look, Christy is just that typical Filipino singer, we need something new.

I really like opera, and hearing Mica sticks to her own genre is good, palagi nalang akong nakakarinig ng birit and common voices sa PH. Mica is such a rare catch kaya mahirap mabitawan 'yan, andaming nag sasabing mag iba sana daw sya ng genre blah blah... but for me I'd like her to stick to her own genre kasi mas gagaling pa 'yan like Diana singer of queen of the night.

actually lea was rooting for a world class talent. Hindi biro kumanta ng Der holle rache ni Mozart. Lani misalucha flop sa kantang yan, Mica she nailed it. The voice doesn't mean pop or ballad lang ang kantahin, may reggae, me rock, me classical, me rap. the thing is "Lea wants a contestant na kaya niyang bagayan with her knowledge." all can do ballad, all can do pop, but only Mica do classical, the two don't.
Try mo yang dalawa pakantahin ng Nella Fantasia, Nessun Dorma, Time to say Goodbye, at Flower duet ni Lakme baka mamaga lalamunan nila.

Arjay Cruz Elha was consistent and not the crowd favorite yet she won. Joshua was consistent and not the favorite and he won. Antoinette failed in her two finale performances numbers and she lost. See what I mean?

With a lot questioning the versatility of Mica, how come almost no one points out that other competitors are also sticking to their own genres and for me, there is nothing wrong with it. Stick to where you're good at especially since this is not the Live Shows yet. Who knows what Mica could bring when it comes to the Live Shows.
About coach Lea's so-called 'favoritism', she wouldn't make it that far in the music industry if she wasn't professional in every decision she makes. This competition is supposed to be centered on the Teens, not the Coaches.

brandon was really good and so was mica. the only difference is mas nakakarelate ung audience sa performance ni brandon kc familiar ung song choice whereas with mica ay hindi familiar sa karamihang mga manonood ang song choice, napakahirap gawin at gayahin ng kinanta nya at talaga naman nagawa nya ng tama . both deserved to be brought to the live show, It's mica's time let's give it to her. im sure with brandon's talent sa pagkanta he'll have his own time din someday.
What I like about Mica's voice is its uniqueness, consistency, and overall control. Brandon, on the one hand, has a solid, engaging and an entertaining voice. And about Shell's, her voice can make a connection with respect to emotion and a kind of narrating a story lying behind the song. They're all excellent singers in their own genre and style.

Y'all care about CONSISTENCY instead of VERSATILITY when it comes to Mica, but I'm worried that she might not win The Voice because not a lot of people in the Philippines are a fan of Opera, meaning not a lot of people will vote for her.. So far, it's only the judges' choices who goes to the next round, and in the live shows, it will be the peoples' choice.

Brandon is good; Shell is stable but lacks something (during the performance) but I was surprise by her song choice, and;Mica is good (as usual) but it is more on "I want see other side of her" so overall - an obvious choice: Mica.
Way to go Mica! You never failed to impress us audience from blinds to knockouts... No one yet has been able to sing classical music so beautifully in our country. If you would have auditioned in Europe, im sure u will be famous and the coaches will love u... your lucky to have obtained such voice .. very unique and lovely . Gifted i may say.

let's face it majority of people in the world today don't like classical or opera songs. in the phillippines classical or opera songs were popular during the days of ms. sylvia la torre, that's why she was popular then. now, she is 84 years old. there is a big similarity between ms sylvia and mica in the way they sing, maybe mica's parents or grandparents idolize ms la torre very much and maybe they oftentimes listen to ms la torre's songs especially the song titled "sa kabukiran" with mica's presence....
"She needs to get out of her comfort zone" get real, people. Mica CAN sing pop songs as the others, but when you join a contest as big as this, wouldn't you be using the genre where you're best at? duh.

Brandon has such a beautiful voice! ^_^ That voice quality from him was just superb performing "Panalangin".
Shell singing "Somewhere Out There" sounds so beautiful and so soothing to the ears. There's something so UNIQUE about her voice that I really like!!! Her voice is so consistent since the beginning of the blind audition.
Mica - She has that BROADWAY like voice. I think she'll go far even if she doesn't make it in the knockout round.

People in this country are so biased. Can't u at least appreciate other genres? Mica's isnt that easy as u thought it to be. She is versatile because during blinds audition, she sang something different and still nailed it... for those other singers, would u think that they can do opera? Come to think of it. There's more to classical music than we all know. In abroad, hearing this kind of music will spend u thousands/millions and only royalties can afford. Mica's voice, being a Filipina ; we should be proud to have her. She has a great talent and not everyone can possess this kind of voice. Go mica!
