I was homeless about 12 years ago. We lived in hotels until I found a home. The hotels went from 4 star to truck stop, fast. We were walking to get food, this guy starts catcalling. I was with my 10 year old. I told him I wasn’t interested, he said, “not you, her!” I said she was 10, he said, “perfect!” We would barricade the door every night, only leaving out for food.

I think that it is absolutely disgusting and absurd about how broken the justice system is. These disgusting men over here have potentially traumatized little kids, and they were so freaking close into raping them, and all they get is four years in prison, one year in prison, this is absolutely absurd! They should’ve stayed their asses in jail for the rest of their life! or at the very least minimum of 30 years.
I fully agree. However I have a little bit of insight.
When arguing about a law or a case that should be changed, you have to look at the other side. When it comes to people who actually committed the crime, they deserve to be locked up for life. However sometimes it’s difficult to prove it. And accusations are not enough.
There should be more protection of minors. Like the first guy admitted enough that he should have been done. But when it comes to adults it’s difficult to tell.
A woman might really hate a dude and accuse him of raping her. He didn’t do anything wrong and now he’s fired from his job and he can’t get a new one. He’ll never be able to provide for himself and it will follow him.
That’s not enough for a guilty person, but it’s a lot for an innocent person deemed guilty
Convince your government to write the laws, and the police will act on it.

@@kickrocksmaybe These are isolated cases. Protection is important but becoming paranoid is only going to hurt them. The best you can do is make sure they are well armed against predators and their techniques, about how the internet works and what is a security issue. That requires learning it yourself, most parents don't want to put in that effort but it is worth it. You gotta teach them how to recognize what is an issue and build trust so that they ask for help when these situations arise. Then just keep a close eyes on their activity without suffocating them, because that only makes them try to hide things better.
