    Gibson must have had open surgery. Guhle would have had laparoscopic surgery, which is minimal incision.

      Yeah, probably. I had abdominal surgery years ago, and healing from that incision takes quite a while..

      My appendix was ruptured... took a week of antibiotics, and another week to get the staples out. Another couple weeks to get my stamina back. My appendix, what waa left of it, apparently was hidden behind my intestines, so a larger incision was needed.

      I really hope they can return to post-season glory. The Canucks did that miraculous 180 last season. My beloved Red Wings were within a stones throw of the post season last year. I really feel for you Sabres fans. Your day is coming. Hopefully the Wings will see them in the playoffs soon.

    Although I'm not as happy as you Shannon with Lankonen. Because I do believe that my countryman Šilovs is ready to take the spot. This kid was MVP in the WCH and did a outstanding job in the playoffs. I worry that this could impact his confidence although he is a tough kid. Or the Canucks aren't sure about Demko, that could be even worse. But hopefully back to back playoffs are in the making.

    Avs news: ownership surprisingly announces their own streaming service where people in their region can stream games. Altitude+ will stream every game that is broadcast on Altitude TV, so everything except for TNT and ESPN-broadcast games, I imagine. It will come out in mid-October, supposedly, and cost $20/month.
    Best wishes to Dahlin as the captain of my second favorite team! I like the choice.

    I always wonder when athletes return ten seconds after an appendectomy. Ruptured appendix takes at least a few weeks to recover from. Gibson as a goalie, probably should make it 4. There's some abdominal rehab depending on how big the incision is.

    Curious that Dahlin was given the C and not Tuch who we were ready to anoint Captain after his arrival, when he energized the team like a lightning bolt.
    Last year kind of dimmed that energy, maybe he was finding out why the Sabres had struggled under the Peluga’s watch before that Vegas trade.
    Good for Dahlin, but personally I’d rather have seen him focus on his career w/o having to talk to the refs all night. The Sabres need Ruff and those behind him to join this group at the hips, get the gears meshed.
    Captain, Commander, Field Marshal, if it works fine but I don’t think naming Okposo’s successor was as important as simply getting this team where they were in 2022-23, with needed upgrades as to physical play and faceoffs.

    • @Pmike404
      @Pmike404 3 години тому +1

      It sounds like Dahlin is a great lockeroom guy. He’s the most conditioned player on the team and super disciplined with how he plays and carry’s himself.
      There’s a bunch of interviews with other sabers players talking about how strong Dahls is
      If the team respects and rally’s around him that’s all that matters

  • @pablobarosa27
    @pablobarosa27 8 годин тому +11

    Dahlin remains the most underrated (not underpaid) player in the NHL.
    Besides having PPG offensive talent, he plays as much icetime as anyone in the league, never gets hurt, can play both sides equally well, hits, blocks shots, transitions the puck at an elite level, skates more distance than anyone in the world per season, and is great in his own end.
    He is, by far and away, the most complete defenseman in the world, and it's not particularly close.

    • @dodgersallday4290
      @dodgersallday4290 8 годин тому +2

      Nah bro he’s a great player but now you’re overrating him. Pretty obvious Sabres homer. Josi and Hedman are just as well-rounded and I’d say better overall at this point in time

    • @michaelb5119

      Something clicked for Dahlin in 2022-23 that wasn’t there before, especially as to his positioning w/o the puck and not letting opponents gain the zone so easily.
      He was one of the few who didn’t take a step back last year, but I’m not going to over-praise him just because I’m a Sabres’ fan.
