Yes, if only the Asian continent didn't produce more than 90% of all ocean waste, that'd be great. Japan has such a beautiful culture of course they produce less ocean-bound trash than most.

You must be very proud to have such a clean, reliable service. UK trains are way behind this standard. One day I hope to travel to Japan and experience it for myself. Great video, thanks.
I've been on other bullet trains in Japan. They are so fast that when you look out the window it's similar to when you look out the window of a plane that's landing at an airport. This one's even better.

I cannot believe how quiet and steady that train is at 320 kph which is 199 mph. Amazing engineering and technology. Very clean inside the cars and the bathrooms. And I agree that the Japanese people are very quiet and respectful. The people in the US could learn a lot from that Country. Very nice video. I am glad I watched it. Thank you Kuga's Travel!!
I think they're working on one. Goes up to 603 kph or 374 Mph. It's crazy how fast it is and I think the new one is run on magnetic tracks. I think there is one that goes up higher to 650 kph
@@brianv1988 the current record is the Japanese maglev at 603 kmh I think, although the operating speed of the Chuo Shinkansen will be 505 kmh. China is working on a faster maglev purely for the ability to boast, I think.
The first time I boarded an E5 at Tokyo station, I was organising my luggage when I looked up and found that the train had already left. I never felt it move. The ride is very smooth and comfortable.
Have been to Japan 6 times always taken the Bullet train at some point. Never had a delayed train and the leg room has always been fantastic even in 2nd class carriage. For the past 6 months I have been travelling from Berlin to Munich every other weekend using Germanys high speed ICE. What a joke. Always late, seats usually have crumbs/litter lying around, hardly any leg room in 2nd class, usually packed with many people having to stand- a total disgrace. I have the utmost admiration for what Japan has achieved with their rail service.
In Australia only one city has rail to airport connection and it takes longer on the train Melbourne to Sydney than to drive. Our trains are stuck in the 1950s!
More than the train, the system is extremely impressive. During this entire travel of this train, all other trains are kept in synch. Fabulous Train Network System.!!!
I have stayed in Tokyo a number of times at the New Otani and travelled extensively on the Shinkansen a very impressive system and speed from cities generally close together and occupied by millions of people i.e. train riders. I tell people if you think the train’s not on time YOUR watch is wrong! But the gov’t drives people to the trains example: takes over an hour to get from the Airport to Tokyo one reason the speed limit on expressways is 80K which is abt 48 mph where we would be traveling at upwards of 65 mph in the USA. Also our big population center cities, where enough people might ride the train, are generally far apart & thus the speed does not help that much! Nice though that you can arrange at the platform 5 minutes before the train is to leave and get on sit down train leaves AT SPEED! No security as the orderly and generally obedient Japanese people don’t cause trouble! US Americans? Gimmme a break we break everything, trash everything and graffiti everything until we then complain about how everything is a mess! That’s you Democrats in your big matchine politics cities with no fair elections and your diversified to death “culture”! I’ll take my Porsche at 75 mph to my office anytime I choose and not miss the train a minute!
@@touchyu2 You had really good point, then you threw a political party into this. Now sure where in the world you get "Democrats" cause whatever problems you are imagining. GOP is into gerrymandering and voter suppression. Orange guy went to 60 court hears in 2020, they had no proof. And from the recordings released by FOX's lawsuit - trump and FOX *KNEW* that trump lost the election. It's 2023 now. $787million is paid out by Fox (Us tax payers will cover about $200m of that). Other than the culture wars, the GOP has nothing. Also, rural America looks like junk-yard. Rural Japan looks... amazing. Its a choice for Americans to be clean. I teach my kids to not litter and in my home - we DO take out shoes off at the door (even thou we're not Japanese) so we're not tracking the junk from outside all over our home. It's common sense.
Riding light-rail in USA is... jarring. At 40~60mph. At best, there is some sway. And in our city, our light-rail system Japanese design/built, still pretty good, but...

I don't know why but I'm always fascinated by how neat and tidy everything is in Japan, I wish I could visit it in the future, and possibly live there, I envy it's people for living in such a nice place.
In fairness, people often only see what they look for. In my major U.S. city, all the parts where tourists visit look as neat and as tidy to me as any Japanese train station, but venture a few miles west and it begins to look like photos of Venezuela the U.S. State Dept. trots out to scare children away from socialism … which is funny because Venezuela is where I grew up, decades *before* Chavez’s election, and it was a messy chaotic place with literal dog carcasses strewn over most streets - I kid you not, every few blocks a dead dog, split open on the asphalt and steaming odorously in a sticky crimson pool in the noonday sun … often for days - so of course the U.S. looks clean to me, but then I get photos of Caracas today sent to me by my family in the post, and what do you know: everything looks as neat and clean and tidy and sparkly as a Japanese train station … but my cousins’ tween children are obsessed with yakuza movies, which portray Japan as a gritty violent trash-strewn hellhole! And what do my Japanese friends complain about? About Japan’s rigidity, conformity, xenophobia, racism, and culture of tolerated sexual assault; they all want to move … to Paris, which is a city I love, so I almost hate to tell my Japanese friends: because Paris has a culture of overpriced pay-toilets - anyplace you want to urinate, aside from in ancient public _pissoirs,_ you usually have to pay between €4.50 and €18 - people sneakily pee wherever they can for free, and so the *whole beautiful city* is blanketed in a low-level stench of urine which it takes *days* to get used to … the urine stench is almost like a visible haze and a sticky film over everything you touch. My point being, it’s all in where you look and how you look!

I traveled to Japan to go snowboarding once a year before the pandemic. I hated to take the train because, with my two pieces of luggage, it was not fun at all to walk a half-mile underground, up and down platforms. I prefer flying or taking a long-haul bus in Japan with luggage.

It's actually more than just the train. It's the way the track is constructed and the ability to make it go as straight possible for long periods of time that allow it to go so fast. They also pioneered amazing automated signalling technology as early as the 50s which also allowed the train to be so efficient. Truly every part of the process has been though about and designed to perfection.
It's even more amazing that they build the underwater tunnel for cover that crazy long distance. In the US, you cant even build a 1 mile road without issues.
It’s unrealistic. Especially for Europe where everything is so close together and where many people live close to the train tracks. 300km/h is max for Europe. Many HS trains in Europe can go 400km/h but it’s limited to 300km/h because of the reasons I mentioned above.
@@bodigames I think that's only true to a certain extent. We have high-speed railway in Europe (e.g. the Thalys), but it is limited due to lack of funding and lack of proper infrastructure. If European governments only cared more about investing in the future, we would not have to take flights from Berlin to Vienna, from Brussels to Zurich, etc. Matter of fact, trains are slow and expensive in Europe but they don't have to be. They could easily replace air travel if only someone took the initiative and made things happen. But lobbying is strong with airlines.

Bro I would like fast trains like the ones in Japan or France. Here in Canada, the fastest they can go is 160km/h
Trains are a huge thing in the UK, bullet trains wouldn’t be popular here as no one is going to pay £180 for a ticket rather than £10 on a normal train, no matter what the speed.
Wow - incredible speed & such shiny & sleek bullet-fast trains. Japan has an excellent transportation system - by air, rail, ferries - for people & goods; moving at varied speeds. Wide selection of choices. And cleanliness is evident everywhere in the country, the city & in all public places. Thank you for sharing your ride with all of us on worldwide youtube channel. Kuga somehow always finds the routes and times when virtually nobody is using them so he can give us the executive experience of having it all to ourselves.
Oh, I thought that nobody rides the trains because of the pandemic, or even worse, because the airline ticket to Sapporo costs a quarter of the train ticket to this city which isn't Sapporo. Seriously, how is airline cheaper? If it's cheaper, does that mean electric aeroplanes are better than trains? Edit: thanks for the replies explaining everything. I love trains and hate flying. By the way, don't you guys know that short-haul electric airliners are being developed? They can't fly across the Atlantic, but from one side of Japan to another is no problem.
@@موسى_7 Usually for distance superior to 400/500km airplane become more convenient than high speed train. Although from a low cost airlines you couldn't expect the confort of a train
@@موسى_7 Because taking the Shinkansen is relaxing and enjoyable. Flying is non-stop annoyance, even if it is cheaper and faster. People are willing to pay for the difference.

Watching this while sitting in a German Intercity train. I can't believe that this bullet train is so empty, quiet, and fast! It's like a plane, but offers more seats and is way better for the environment. I love that for you!
I rode the shinkansen years ago from Tokyo to Iwakuni . They called it the bullet train back in the 80's. It was fast, clean and absolutely on time... A great experience I will never forget
@TexasCat99 You can't have nice things because of the people. Everything turns to ghetto in the US, especially in the Blacx and Meexecan communities/cities.
Occasionally have the pleasure of talking to the Japanese train representatives in Boston. Lots of fun listening about their trains systems. One thing to note is they are working on ways to make the trains quieter from the outside. Notice the sound barriers along much of the route. High speed trains works well in Japan because they have clusters of cities not too far from each other. People use them for commuting.
The U.S. also has clusters of cities - MAJOR cities! - not too far from each other. So a single uninterrupted high-speed rail line from Los Angeles to New York City might not be a practical place to start building our own high-speed rail network, but there are at a minimum 20 cities along the northeast corridor well-worth connecting, and about 12 to 16 in the Midwest with Chicago as a hub, California obviously could connect loads of cities … and while the U.S. South may be its own special flavor of underdeveloped Hell, surely they’ll outgrow their donkey carts soon.
I had to smile when you said the train is slowing down...and then showing 260km/h. But that's for the great videos which shows the great country a bit more......until we can visit again.
Nice video (I did the same trip a few years ago). One important note (at min. 13:02): the Seikan tunnel is not only the longest rail tunnel in Japan: it is also the longest underwater tunnel (of any kind) in the world, longer than the Channel Tunnel. And before the opening of the Gotthard Base Tunnel it was also the longest tunnel of all (including above water)

In the states, we have Amtrak, which while it isn't as fast it's terribly underrated. The views on some of the routes are incredible. you just need a massive time commitment since the US is so damn huge.
@@VuQuang1973 In it's current state we don't REALLY need it. It's a novelty to allow you to enjoy the views across the country while traveling. It could become practical if the trains become fast like in asia or europe. In that case you could visit a neighboring city for cheaper than a plane, and faster than a car.

Japan's rail system- both intra city and inter city is the best in the world by every measure: punctuality, availability, safety, service, cleanliness, and design. I've used rail systems in Australia, Singapore, and Germany extensively, but nothing compares to it. And the reason? It's cultural. You cannot compete with culture.
I really want to visit Japan, such a cool place. I love the culture and food, when I visited Switzerland I was amazed how clean it was kept but Japan would be even more so. Big difference from where I live in London haha
Don't t forget the aged who live in jail from not being able to afford food. Old women steal to go to jail to have a place to live and eat three meals. Or the slums. Yes, they also have social issues. It is not a Ghibli world. Reality is the young die from exhaustion from competition in businesses. Suicide is extremely high. Do your research. ✌️👍🇨🇦🧏Smoke and mirrors love. There is always a side not portrayed for a good reason.
What an amazing experience. The train looks awesome, just like the inside of a airliner. Another great video and adventure Kuga-san. A great way to start my weekend. Thank you again Kuga-san for sharing your adventures. 🇯🇵🤝🇺🇸👍👍
WOW!!! I am always so impressed with how clean EVERYTHING is, inside and outside the train. This is amazing! Sitting here in America, I feel safe inside these trains? I know that sounds strange but if I were in Japan, I would feel safer inside the train rather than out on the streets. These are so nice I dont want to get off. If I ever make it to Japan I want to go straight from the Airport to a train. From the Airport by train to one end of Japan to a Ferry boat then straight to the other end of Japan. From that end of Japan straight back to the Airport by train then leave. Is that possible? Oh yes it is. I would love doing that so much..Riding a train from one end of Japan, a Ferry to the other end of Japan then a train back to the Airport would be the best vacation ever. Thank you.
Japan is super safe. And every where is clean and orderly. They are the politest people on the planet too, manners are very important. It is so easy to travel around. It works.
You would be safe on an American train. Who said you wouldn’t? Are you talking safe as in criminals on the trains or you’ll catch something? No matter where you go in this world, you can get sick from a cold, the flu or the covid from just sitting by someone. It doesn’t have to be on a train. I’ve been on plenty trains in America, and they are all very cleaned and very safe. Have you even been on any trains in the U.S.? It’s so clean and fun to see the country. They have to keep the trains clean, sanitized and comfortable but it has always been that way. There’s also full meals served on the American trains or you can bring your own snacks. My mom and step dad and my uncle took an Amtrak train across the country to Florida to visit my brother and his family, and they were comfortable and they said they had great service and enjoyed the views. They got to stop at different states and walk around for a bit and she would take the train again. My husband and I have been on a Princess cruise train in Alaska that took us to Anchorage and it was amazing to see such beautiful views and we all were served a delicious lunch. Our trains in the U.S. have special tours in different parts of America. And you would be surprised how many tourists from other countries are on these trains because they want to see America. Just like we want to visit different countries. Trains have always been extra clean even before the pandemic, also because any company or business gets random checks from the health department too. My dad, sister, her husband and her in-laws were in Japan for a Christian concert and they were able to go on the bullet train and they loved it. Just don’t go in the Summer time, too hot and very humid in Japan.
I really enjoyed this video. I rode Skinkansen from Toyko to Osaka and this video does a very accurate job showing the experience. I especially enjoyed the view from outside the train as it passed in the station. I saw that at Yokohama before I had ridden on the bullet train and it was scary but exciting. And yes the ride is so smooth. Thank you for your video
I enjoyed that video very much, thank you kindly for making and sharing, back in 2002 I took the night train from Sapporo to Tokyo, it was the greatest journey I’ve taken, I booked a sleeper cabin, but stayed up all night looking out of the window, it was mid summer and did not get very dark, what a beautiful journey that was, just like yours but with a different experience, thank you again for sharing….🙏
I've made this trip (Tokyo to Morioka, and back)! I travelled for a concert (Oomori Seiko), and back again on the last train. This was in October of 2019, and I got back to where I was staying in Hatagaya less than an hour before that big typhoon hit! Unforgettable... It's a great way to travel: fast, but also comfortable and relaxing.
Imagine when the Sapporo extension is complete, I'd imagine JR would organize a celebration Shinkansen that would go all the way from Sapporo to Kagoshima-Chuo! That would be a ride to experience, albeit one very, very long trip.
Immediately subscribing! I loved not only SEEING things from your perspective but also HEARING what you were. So quiet, peaceful, relaxing. Understanding what was going on but through closed captions.
It was January when I caught this train, and there was snow on the ground from Sendai. It's a great ride. And the train to Sapporo travels through beautiful country. I enjoyed the shinkansen's passing the station - wahoo!
Thanks for the video. Been to Japan twice and absolutely loved it. Can't wait to return some day. Been on JR and it sets the mark for rail systems, in my opinion. Would love to ride the Shinkansen one day!
Such quality ...leave it to the Japanese to build such awesomeness. Having ridden on this and the Chinese high-speed train, I can say the experience on the Shinkansen is streets ahead in terms of comfort and engineering. The Bento is pretty good too LOL
@@MaowTseTung that's like saying first class on an airplane is better than economy. Of course the experience will feel better because the price is 4×. Get my point?
Its more expensive than I thought it would be, but hey its obviously an excellent service: fast, clean, quiet, super reliable etc. My country will never have nice things like this 😕
We rode this train from Tokyo to Kyoto. Fantastic ride, like a babies cradle. Our daughter and family lived there for two years. Loved our visit there.
One more reason to love Japan, it seems so futuristic, movie-lke. Yet, escape to the countryside and you can drop backi hundreds of years or more in architecure, crafts, performance, even spirituality.
This is so fascinating, traveling on the ground and watching things whiz by at 200 mph ! Your comments in English are very nice. People from many countries can enjoy your video.
I think the most impressive about japanese shinkansen is not about the speed, but actually about the punctuallity and the interconnectivity of the railway itself. even european train system cannot beat those punctuality and accuracy of the japanese.
The Japanese trains are amazing, just the looks are cool, they've always been so far ahead in these trains, I'd love to ride one someday, and 200 dollars is not bad considering the distance. Thank you for this video, I really enjoy these trips. 🙏
The experience sounds great, especially the quality of the ride. But for a reserved, fixed-time ticket it seems pricey. While the German high-speed train system is crappier in many respects, you can pre-book (reasonable) rides from 55 USD or get a flex ticket for 160 USD
Always remember to buy a JR Pass if you are visiting Japan. It’s 250USD for a 7 day pass (up to 21 days) and you can take most trains without having to pay extra. Can’t get on the Nozomi Shinkansen or Mizuho though but the semi-express shinkansen are plenty fast.

I love that you can really get a sense of speed by how the camera's sensor is causing the image to skew pretty heavily at times. One day, one day I will make it a mission to take a ride on a bullet train
Kuga's Videos are fun to watch. I find myself watching them over and over again. Every time I see the Videos I feel like I'm in Japan and being whizzed across the country on the Shinkansen . I watch other Videos, but I always come back to Kuga's . Kuga's Videos are informative, exciting, and feel at one with them .
7:23 let me guess… that’s an E2 Yamabiko and E3 Tsubasa about to separate at Fukushima station and the E3 will go to Shinjo, while the E2 will go to either Sendai or Morioka.
That is right. But that train exiting Fukushima is going "nobori" direction, that is, going towards Tokyo (opposite to this train) which means both trains shunted already.
Beauty! All my trips to Japan, the best part was the rail system and the JR Pass. Never got to ride the Hayabusa, though. Always booked up a bit too far in advance. And last time I was there Tohoku Shinkansen terminated at Aomori. Ancient History. ;) Thanks for the vid.

And then there’s the DLR which goes 2mph and the seats inside are an introverts nightmare
You do now the bullet train was a British invention.

I don’t really like the quietness cause it’d feel weird if you wanted to laugh but didn’t want to ruin the silence
@@brianv1988 PS there's a new test train on the Tohoku line operating up to 450 kmh to investigate new designs.
I am an Aero Engineer. Though my trips to Japan were mainly for tourism. So far it is my favorite country :)
@beutifulm - you can find adventure in the unlikeliest of places. I think the trick is to step outside of your comfort zone once in a while ;)
Hi Tom Edward, propable you catch the ICE3. This train isn´t very comfortable. The oldest series the ICE1 is much better in this point.
@@triarb5790 But at least you have freedom and liberty. Never replace those two values with shiny infrastructure.
But the gov’t drives people to the trains example: takes over an hour to get from the Airport to Tokyo one reason the speed limit on expressways is 80K which is abt
48 mph where we would be traveling at upwards of 65 mph in the USA. Also our big population center cities, where enough people might ride the train, are generally far apart &
thus the speed does not help that much! Nice though that you can arrange at the platform
5 minutes before the train is to leave and get on sit down train leaves AT SPEED! No security
as the orderly and generally obedient Japanese people don’t cause trouble! US Americans?
Gimmme a break we break everything, trash everything and graffiti everything until we then complain about how everything is a mess! That’s you Democrats in your big matchine politics
cities with no fair elections and your diversified to death “culture”! I’ll take my Porsche at 75 mph to my office anytime I choose and not miss the train a minute!
@@touchyu2 the heck?

Japan’s train infrastructure never ceases to amaze me! Innovative and very efficient. Sugoi desu ne!

Be prepared to work for 50+ hours a week if you want to live there. They have a ridiculous work system tbh

I traveled to Japan to go snowboarding once a year before the pandemic. I hated to take the train because, with my two pieces of luggage, it was not fun at all to walk a half-mile underground, up and down platforms. I prefer flying or taking a long-haul bus in Japan with luggage.

That machine can’t even be called a “train”, it is a marvel of engineering and beauty 💗😎💗😎
Shinkansen simply
It's even more amazing that they build the underwater tunnel for cover that crazy long distance. In the US, you cant even build a 1 mile road without issues.
198 MPH it’s a land rocket 🚀
nothing special, china could do, germany could do, france could do, even canada could do. stupid.
Brought back memories travelling from Tokyo to Osaka by shinkansen while studying in Japan in 1999.a very beautiful place with wonderful people.
I wish more countries loved trains like Japan.
@ most of the time the high speed trains in France go under 200km/h. So…..
So I guess it’s more of an infrastructural thing than a speed thing.
Trains are a huge thing in the UK, bullet trains wouldn’t be popular here as no one is going to pay £180 for a ticket rather than £10 on a normal train, no matter what the speed.

I mean it’s Amazing

Japan is super safe. And every where is clean and orderly. They are the politest people on the planet too, manners are very important. It is so easy to travel around.
It works.
Why would you want to miss out on all the culture? The food? The countryside ( awesome hiking country) the temples?

Oh, yes, Bento is so good to eat. Japan can make excellent tasting Bento, not found in other country's railway system. My favorite is Unagi Bento.
But Chinese is much better value this Japanese train is far too expensive. That's probably why it's completely empty.

@@MaowTseTung that's like saying first class on an airplane is better than economy. Of course the experience will feel better because the price is 4×. Get my point?
Its more expensive than I thought it would be, but hey its obviously an excellent service: fast, clean, quiet, super reliable etc. My country will never have nice things like this 😕
That's really cool. Thank you for sharing your ride with us! I'd like to ride that train some day.
I live in Denmark and i love traveling by train, it's so relaxing and smooth (just wish the seats where softer for long rides) but this looks amazing!
Thumbs up for the Japanese. Everything looks so neat and clean.
Love these videos. They're relaxing to watch and the scenery you record is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I'm an electrician, and it gives me goosebumps to see a train moving so fast the power to move the whole train at those speeds must be Megawatts
This reminds me so much of travelling between hull and Leeds. So peaceful and respectful are the people of Hull.
Wow!! I’ve never been on a Shinkansen. Hopefully I’ll get to travel in one in the future.
Wow 😯
That is a beautiful train - and so fast!
I enjoyed the ride and the scenery outside that we zipped by 😊💕💕
That's a beautiful train...
And a beautiful country...
I truly enjoyed the ride...
From Georgia, USA ✌️
Safe Travels
I’m in Ga too! 🌼
This is so fascinating, traveling on the ground and watching things whiz by at 200 mph !
Your comments in English are very nice. People from many countries can enjoy your video.
I miss Japan so much
thank you for bringing us to this awesome place again through your video!!!
I love Japanese anime and the great George Takei, too!!
Me too Japan one of the best.
Wow, I couldn't imagine travelling that fast on land, bullet trains seem awesome.
Thank you Kuga. Love this train. I agree that falcon is a great name for it, but the train reminds me of a friendly green dragon! A great journey.
Wow!! that trip was amazing. Just like traveling by airplane but closer to the ground :-) Thank you for sharing your experiences.
...And so do I.
Me too Japan one of the best in the world they bullet trains since the 60s other countries follow and never had a accident since its built.
Try it bro, you can ride the highest speed train for the first time in Southeast Asia. The highest speed is 350 kilometers per hour, the Indonesian fast train Jakarta - Bandung, the newest, most sophisticated in Southeast Asia, the first,.the way to the beautiful and comfortable and beautiful and cool and cool city of Bandung, thank you sis and bro.......
Kuga's Videos are informative, exciting, and feel at one with them .
tokyo is amazing, I really need to visit this city again. Next time I will visit Kyoto and Osaka first😊😝🙌🏼
Excellent video, thanks 😀
It's incredible how fast a pair of shinkansen can move after they have mated 😁🤘
@fter they've mated , sounds funny

😆Hahahahahahahahaha!!🤣
That was definitely relaxing to watch as well. Thank you for your post.
7:23 let me guess… that’s an E2 Yamabiko and E3 Tsubasa about to separate at Fukushima station and the E3 will go to Shinjo, while the E2 will go to either Sendai or Morioka.
Correct!
As
That is right. But that train exiting Fukushima is going "nobori" direction, that is, going towards Tokyo (opposite to this train) which means both trains shunted already.
Wow! Japan is truly an amazing place!
Not only that, I feel that Japanese anime is my personal mental vacation from the world!!
Me too I love Japan is the best in the world of technologies.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MISSES.
Beauty! All my trips to Japan, the best part was the rail system and the JR Pass. Never got to ride the Hayabusa, though. Always booked up a bit too far in advance. And last time I was there Tohoku Shinkansen terminated at Aomori. Ancient History. ;) Thanks for the vid.
