The most ridiculous thing about all of this is the cardio Cruz has. To be able to pull this style off for 5 rounds is unheard of.
Ever watched Mohammed Ali?
@@memelots7803 no but ive heard of Muhammad Ali, and he never had to think about the extra threat of kicks, elbows, knees and takedowns.
@@misato4639 don't underestimate boxing, just watch like the 20th or 15th round they fight. Watch some of the old clips.
@@memelots7803 that joke went right over your head eh?
@@misato4639 I meant watched in a literal sense like his videos. When I say ever heard of someone people tend to get angry over nothing.
Dominick "No damage in fights but I'm gonna take all the damage in training" Cruz
Damn. I was gonna be like why you hating but its true. Lol. The dude trains too hard for his own good. Fucks his body up before the fight trying to make sure he doesn't take damage.
Either trains too hard or is one of those people who gets injured crazy easily. Or both
He doesn't take much CTE type damage in his fights but will still end up in a wheelchair in a few years because he fucks his knees up in training
Why does he train like that, I don’t get why it’s necessary to go thru that instead of knowing u can handle it and going lighter for improving technique and fluidity but everything else is extra and just a waste of time in terms of preparing for a fight. ur either tough or ur not u don’t have to beat ur body up in training to be tougher lol it will still hurt as badly during the fight, I never understood that. And what is he doing to fuck his knees up?
@peace or power actually he has a point. Fighters at this level don't need to extensively spar (Tony Ferguson), and sometimes even train for a fight (Jon Jones vs Gus 1). I love Dominick, but he is torturing himself in the camp
It’s like he’s mastered his own specific martial art that no one else has
For real i find it very fascinating
@Tyler Robbins Hater gtfo here. He has a hall of fame career in the UFC and one of the smartest fighters in the ufc.
Tyler Robbins your a fucking idiot he is 22 and 2 and beat some of the best ever you causal faber, dillashaw,dj, benevidez, Bowles,
Shaving Cream guy he really has a great resume, I hope he adds Cejudo to that list.
@Tyler Robbins Lol Of course everyone has their own style but not everyone is a fuckin champ. He beat the best fighters of his time and is without a doubt the Bantamweight GOAT even after so many fucked up injuries. So you're statement is clearly wrong in every way possible.
Cruz: I bought a house beating all your teammates.
Brown Gone1 and a GTR
Vishal Sheoran He won the GTR in a prize fight, he said that on Joe Rogan’s Podcast
Gonzalez _MMA cool, I thought he cashed that on beating some team alpha male ass
@Coffee Cool lol ur mad
@Watson Wallace he lost to Faber on their first fight too.
above all, he has created his own unique style. hall of famer cruz.

@@swordtaker2 lmao
@@donniethekhajiit5252 i think conor has blended many martial arts to form his own unique style as well.
@@meezy5671 what he does is very clever with his wide karate stance to put leverage on his left hand shot and his timing is impeccable but it's not even nearly in the same class or as impressive as Cruz's footwork and movement. It's a brilliant work of art
@@donniethekhajiit5252 i agree it is not on the same level of innovation as cruz's and i also believe the left hand is a big weapon of conor but his arsenal is wide mate.

In his prime he was incredible. Fight IQ is off the charts. Imaginative style. Tremendous cardio. Can't say enough good things about this man.
Unbelievable cardio
And also a great trash talker!
I have't heard many people bring it up but one of the most impressive things about Cruz is how he keeps that style up for 3 or 5 rounds. I'd be gassed within 5 minutes trying to move like that.
that's probably why his ACL's gave way...and all the injury. he fights like that means he trains like that but probably longer and harder too.. the way he fights is like controlled chaos...he's NEVER on the center line..that's a lot of movements..
@@BURPEEyogauncle exactly what i've thought. Nobody has the injury history like cruz.... no one fights like him either there is a correlation there.
@@BURPEEyogauncle You can pratically hear the muscles and ligaments tear as he moves. Yeah he doesn't get hit in his face or body, but his legs are going overdrive
@@LaughingJokerProd yup...his style doesn't last long career wise but it was hella effective.
@Shawn Smith he used heavy peds so that pace he could keep up was fake. Also his Injuries came from fighting other peds not training
Imagine getting into a bar fight with Cruz and your just hitting air for 10 minutes
Lol! I'd only be hitting air for about 30 seconds before I quit.
Would be more like hitting air for 10 seconds !
Idk if Cruz drunk moving like that he might bust his own ass for me
@@animeaboveall1561 indeed, swinging hard at air is exhausting, I'd be smoked in only 28 seconds
if he moves like that in a barfight that one pucnh he wont avoid will actually be a broken glass bottle.
Imagine being so good at avoiding shots that even Demetrius Johnson struggles to hit you...
He's 5'3?
@@crustychildren And? that just means he has smaller arms and legs and thus retracts them faster. way harder to evade those than the longer, slower strikes.
@@mihailomarkovic8070 Dominic Cruz can place his hand on Demetrius head and Demetrius won't be able to hit him that's how short he is
@@crustychildren But he didnt do that, he instead decided to slip his punches and kicks and go in and out, which is much harder to do when you're taller than the person attacking you.
@@mihailomarkovic8070 You’ve never fought before have you 😂 Jesus you guys are dumb af
His shots may not have a lot of power but he's so fast and accurate with his shots and he barely takes any shots so his gas tank lasts so long. A legend.
He has knockout power and ufc 199 can prove that. The thing is that dom fights smart and every punch or flurry he throws is not at full force because he's constantly evading and always steps out of range.
@@alanwatts8341 oh for sure he does but I think the main reason he needs to be feared is his accuracy
he's light on his feet so punches he throws don't have much behind. He can ko them if he sets into his stance.
knockout happens usually not from power but from hitting someone that is not expecting it as well as the location of the shot. especially in the lower weight class. the hvy weight? yeah, it's all power. even if you expect the punch, a hvy weight connects and you are done.
Precision > power in most of the case
Dominic Cruz is that kind of a man who wins at life.
How do you know he's not a virgin
idk wtf he was doing against no chin garbrandt tho. he thought he could beat him moving forward when hes primarily a counterstriker.

Not possible. The way Cruz moves and angles off takes away how hard he can hit. His knockdowns have to come off perfect timing more than the acual power. He throws strikes from weird angles based off of his movement, hence why they don't pack as much power as someone like Garbrandt.
His style is so beautiful. He’s like a street fighter that specializes in ballerina.
lol..yeah, one could say that, for sure he's dancing and tagging his opponents. most of the time, i think he just slips a punch and throws one out to where he THINKS his opponent's gonna be at. no way he can see what he's punching at as he was slipping. it's all reflex & muscle memory

4:31 y’all welcome
This is why he's my favorite fighter in the bantamweight division. Dominick has insane cardio for the head movement and foot work skills that he has, and can go for 5 rounds with that fighting style. His opponents get tired around 5 to 10 mins and he still moves around the same, not to mention he makes his opponents hit air. Insane! No wonder he became a champion.
His style of fighting is one of the most entertaining I've every watch
Dom is a legend in this sport. His body of work really is incredibly impressive.
The way he slips and slides out of danger, finds his target at some insane angles and keeps such a quick pace is so unlike anyone we’ve ever seen before or since.
Strangely, a lot of people seem to sleep on Cruz but watching these old fights shows you all you need to see. He had such a well rounded set of skills and his endurance was insane. Such a great fighter.
who dares to boo this guy?
this is fkin art
The man trains himself to injury so he doesn't get injured in the ring
A lot of his tricks were honestly just a classic boxers head movement. He mastered it for this rule set which is very impressive. If you guys have time search ‘Pernell Sweet pea Whittaker’ some fighters just see things in slow motion when the fight heats up! Cruz was great at using his angles going forward and more importantly BACKWARD.
He's gone for 3,5 years and everyone forgets his cardio, comeon he's moving the whole fight non-stop. Cejudo is in for 25 minutes of pure hell!
@Thunder Gaming cringe cringe cringe concussed
So you not watch henry fight then? Go watch him fight Marlon hes a warrior just like dom dont count him out. MMA IS A YOUNG MANS SPORT. But let's go dom.

cruz is the steph curry of MMA. just wild cardio and conditioning. very unique style hella entertaining to watch
Bro…what?

His cardio and endurance are incredible. On top of that, he is very smart when fighting. The way he moves, throws jabs and takes his opponents down is merely amazing. What a warrior he is. Wow.
Cruz got a high fight iq everyone is writing him off against Henry if he is healthy it’s going to be a huge challenge for Henry
Ikr, this fight is giving off serious Canelo vs Floyd vibes. Young, strong fighter in his prime vs an older, highly technical, probably the goat in his division fighter.
And hows this age? Legit curious. I aint a fan of cejudo but too many ppl discredit him
Lol this didn't age well 😅

One of my all time fav fighters, what a legend Cruz is
Remember how Holly ended Ronda? Ronda’s back was to her at an angle and face an easy, natural target to kick. Dom can get his opponents into that position with his footwork. He’s also deceptively long for the weight class. He can cover ground. Henry is gonna have to try to brawl and catch him. Looking forward to this weekend!

Ronda should've stick with judo dude
His boxing coach fucked up her career I feel so bad for her
It's always fascinating watching Cruz. Technically almost everything he does is wrong but somehow he makes it work. I think he has the best timed takedowns in the middle of combinations that I have ever seen. His cardio is also ridiculous for a guy who moves his upper body like that in the fight
His head kick he throws on his opponents way up is awesome
The one Chito landed on him was awesome as well.
No other fighter moves like him. Totally unique and effective
This is the thing, Dominic cruz has created his own sort of martial art with his style. The way he bounces around in and out. It’s extremely unique.
I think his theory is impeccable, it just doesn't have flaws but fighting like this for 15 or 25 minutes straight is pretty insane, I really hope he becames a coach lmao
The flaw of his style is, humans being imperfect. Eventually your reflexes slow, and you get caught by the punches and high kicks you ducked under and stepped/jumped away from. His style worked wonders while he was young, fast and agile. Great fighter, nowadays he's surviving on willpower alone. But he's my favorite. Feels like fighting a mongoose in there, his style was actually made to fight taller, bigger guys, which he did while his weight class didn't exist, he had to adapt. Didn't wanna get clipped or even touched by them.
Hopefully he finishes Henry then retires on top. He can call himself the triple C slayer.
KennethPlays why the hate on Cejudo?
@@DRo-ql8er I feel like hes been getting lucky and after Doms right hand connects its over.

yeeterskeeter 21 well he has, his resume is definitely comparable to Cruz’. If Dominic hadn’t been injured for all those years he would probably be ahead, but not now.
@@trtvitor5837 how many defenses has Henry got though. He beat tj and moraes to get his belts who Dom beat. Dominick I'm pretty sure had like 7 defenses. Dom beat benevides Faber twice, tj, dj and more. Overall Dominick just has a better ufc resume

Silva vs griffin
Man.. someone tell me how this guy is not the most entertaining fighter ever, I've never seen anything more entertaining than these fights!
His instincts so good!! Respect a true fighter
I thought I was the only one that fought like this with the same mindset on not getting hit or reduce the amount getting hit and when I’m sparring with my teammates with more experience they give me advice on not worrying on getting hit which didn’t make sense to me so it’s nice to see a guy fight at the highest level with the same mindset and style
Well, slipping like this puts you in a favorable position, plus it's less points for your opponent and it just looks amazing if you do it right. But you have to be careful to not become too passive or actually give up a good position because you want to evade the punches, I can't say for sure since I obviously haven't seen you fight but there maybe a reason your teammates tell you that.
You thought you were the only one? What bubble you living in? This mindset has been on display since UFC1. Royce Gracie ringing any bells?
Bro Royce G is trash even when he dopes(which was most of his career)
If he can make TJ miss that much who is a world class striker imagine what he’ll do to Henry next Saturday and with Dominics excellent takedown defense and offense I just hope he is healthy if he is I think he can get it down
David Vega agreed cruz is very very elusive, however cejudo's wrestling is unmatched (kinda like khabib), that will be big threat. He caught DJ a lot.
He’s not a world class striker. He’s basic at best, plus can’t win fights without his EPO

David Vega Yeah, anyone can. The guy isn’t a God. He’s a cheater that cheated his way to become a Champion. You’re skill become skeptical when you need a helping hand of juice!
Ray Ray yeah I know what your saying trust me Ik he’s lost a lot of credibility but at the same time he is still a world class striker like other pro athletes who have taken epo don’t just take it and magically learn Muay this like that lol
He treats all of his opponents like punching bags, and he's able to confidently close the distance because of how good he is at avoiding hits.

Dude Cruz in his prime kept up with and still evaded the strikes of future flyweights! Absolute beast of a fighter and one of the best ever.

For sure top 3 cardio game of all time.
Have You noticed Cruz has always got his hands down and he make it up with body and head movement avoiding blows? Keeping Your hands up to protect Your head, slows You down and limits Your movement. Cruz is the epitome of elusive man. Say what you want about his punches they land and it works for his style. Cardio is a big factor I try to implement his footwork/techniques, especially after he released the drills for free on his website, even by just shadow boxing/drilling i’m winded.

"Don't try to punch him let the kicks go"
That's exactly what Cejudo did to get the win. Amazing how despite him saying that he always moves laterally, not many tried to cut him off with roundhouses. I suppose it's easier said than done.
This aged very well
His awareness of where the cage is, is very impressive.
I think he’s gonna take this one. His most issue was Garbrandt and aside from Cody being a firecracker he’s an excellent boxer with the footwork that comes with that label. Cejudo doesn’t have that type of stand up.
HA!

this’s just a theory but such dynamic movements has to put stress on the body’s connective tissue, maybe a contributing factor to his injuries as he’s aged resulting, as well as slower recovery compared to youth
Love watching fights when each fighter isn't scared to exchange
He fights like he's playing dark souls lmao
Cruz looks like some one is just button mashing combos together like in a video game which is insane and it doesn't help that he has God Mode Enabled😳
I love Cruz and for me he is the best bantamweigh ever but he throws so many looping punches with very few kicks. Cody exposed these holes. He bobbed and weaved the looping punches and countered with his own in a close range he obtained because Cruz does his best work by going in and out. Cody caught him while he was in, throwing a punch.
cruz has 6 or 7 ways to enter the pocket if his opponent doesn't lead, alpha male knew all those and cody made it look easy because cruz had no answers
