Lastly in land law the occupant of the land or user of property is the purported owner. Can everyone stay where he or she is if at all you all got a share however small or big. Life is the most important thing. Besides I haven't thought about my father's property and actually his will is not my concern. I think I have a problem.

I have read comments written so far, but no one is mentioned of the first blame rests on the deceased for not have left a will.
Secondly, no one ever would have liked their mum and them (the kids) to have their mum and dad worked together to get property to be given to children of sidedish women. This was the woman in the man's home. Best share goes to them, full stop.
Thirdly, the Uganda law is clear about someone dying intestacy. That's without leaving a will behind. The family home is disposed to the widow, not children. Therefore Hajati is entitled to be the beneficiary of that house.
Thirdly, all persons commented seem to not take into account that Yassim could have been seconded to become the heir on the basis of those who seconded him expected to benefit and were the majority. It could be Hajati only had four children, the ten children being offsprings of other women. So the brothers of the late had a conflict of interest plus the children who seconded Yasmin to become the heir.
Yasmin becoming the heir does not empower him to confiscate the deceased's property left as he wishes, the law regulates what can be got hold of and how to get hold of it.
The question that is not been asked by you all who have commented is that, at what date did Hajati and her children build on the land that she says those who built on that land should be compensated. They should not be compensated if they built on that land later after the deceased passed away. This could have been an attempt to fail the other children from taking that land. Where did they get the permission to build on that land? Strict proof is essential as a determinant, as to whether they should be compensated or not. But Uganda law is ambiguous, which l assume those who built on that land are attempting to take advantage of, but no one should benefit from criminal intentions. It is taking peculiar advantage through death of the deceased.
The Administrator General's Office needful to step in this family's affairs. Then whoever will not agree with the Administrative General's Office decision, then seek ruling from the High Court Family Division.
