wow! I've had my great grandfathers old accordion lying on the shelves for years now and decided to give it a go now that there is nothing else to do all day.
Go learn how to play it! My grandmother gave me her accordion (that she got second hand 65 years ago) when she grew too old to play it, and for the past 5 years or so I have been learning to play it. I am still far from good but it brings me joy to play, and I think that is what she wanted
This movie and soundtrack really made me fall in love and appreciate the accordion more than just what Weird Al Yankovic does with it. So much so that I finally took the plunge and bought one! Should be here any day and I’ll be starting lessons right after New Years. I’m hoping to eventually learn how to play these songs from Amelie!
@@accordionlucy I hope so! I bought a little toy accordion at a yard sale a few years ago and figured out how to play some songs on it. Then while my fiancée and I were Christmas shopping at Kohl’s they were selling black and red (my clown’s color scheme) toy accordions. So of course I picked one up and proceeded to entertain the staff and customers with Beatles tunes! So she bought that one for me for Christmas. 2021 took her from me so the best way I can think of to honor her life and legacy is for me to go out there and live my best life! I have a friend who plays in a band called Mosquito Cabaret and he’s gonna teach me.

I find that going from Am to F is alot easier on the piano than that change on the chord buttons on the accordion. Yet having the circle of fifths on the accordion buttons was a brilliant idea.
