  • After Leaving Talkeetna It is time to point the Heavy Chevy toward the house. We have several stops before we get out of Alaska and then Canada, but we are on the back side of this Month long road trip. We may have two or three more videos before we get home to SC. I am not completely sure yet. I also plan on a final video where we discuss some of the costs.
So stay tuned, thanks for watching, and leave it better than you found it.

Tok is pronounced with a long “O” as in Tokyo…. Not “talk” the way you pronounced it.

Funny thing, we asked more than a few people and, long or short “O” each person we asked were sure they were correct. 😃

I lived in Alaska since 1975 and gold mined near Tok and know people that live there and I do know how to pronounce Tok with a long “o”. Anyone that pronounces Tok any other way is a Cheechako that knows nothing.@@markmixon

@@tsehelbenyosef2503 I wouldn’t impinge on your correctness as a long term resident. I’ll bow to your superior knowledge of the local pronunciations. I’m glad to know for sure and will try to say it correctly in the future. Also, I’m not sure I want to know what Cheechako means 😃 please don’t tell me.

Well…. I would think that if you are making videos for public consumption, you WOULD want to know how to pronounce the local dialect of which you are speaking about and that you WOULD want to know the difference between a Cheechako and a Sourdough, but you can and probably already used “google” to try and understand where I’m coming from.@@markmixon

@@tsehelbenyosef2503 I like to be as accurate as I can be. Thanks for letting me know. I’m not going to go re-edit but I’ll know for next time I get to Alaska. It was a bucket list, once in a lifetime event, but who knows what the future may hold.
