This is one of the BEST interviews on Linux, Open Source and the problems being solved for enterprise using Linux! Way to go Jay and Doug! I didnt want it to end when is part 2! Thank you so much for covering such big topics with a positive attitude! Its all about identifying and solving the issues to adopt Linux for enterprise. Hey 45 Drives? Where do I apply? Bridging the gap is my life's work!

I'm glad you liked this video and all (and I also think it's great), but in approximately 45 minutes another video from the event will be uploaded that will contain another great conversation!

I was randomly comparing NAS systems and noticed that 45 Drives has a pre-sale for an HL8 and HL4 on their site now. Very interesting!

Awesome! Question for Jay: what do you think of a Rocky version of Photon OS? Every distro is different in installing Docker and having a stripped down version of Rocky with Docker pre-loaded but disabled for proxmox, I think would fill a role for some. I enjoyed Photon OS for spinning up game servers and quick Docker hosts for lab work, and that just doesn’t exist the same way on Proxmox.

Literally, the only reason I have windows at all is video games. Yes there are plenty of linux games or "ways to port them over or get them to work", but that inability to just pick a game, and know you can run it is what really stops me from just having a solo Linux system and getting rid of windows.

Canadian, eh!. Using linux a lot more. My photo editing system is still windows based. Linux, does not have truly equiv. to what I am using. MS has lost its way quite some time ago. No way to MS account to use my computer, my data stays local.

Brilliant Interview! Very excited to see this company grow and provide superior choices and open options for the server market! Their ethics minded business practices and planning are the kind we need to de-enshittify the internet. Just did a DeMicro$oftification of an inherited stock portfolio and will be looking to invest in 45 Drives, especially when they are now in the U.S. with offices (and U.S. manufacturing plans) next door in North Carolina.

Unfortunately, Linux distributions though I love open source, it's the worst for gamers like myself. Sudo Apt-get-install windows. LOL

windoz Me, vista & 8.x and newer were/are the worst!! windoz 7 was/is the best version they ever made! They should have stopped their, and moved onto Linux.
