    Hi Steve....it seems the fruit woods always manage to possess a lot of character in their grains and occlusions. This bowl is a striking example of that and the classic style of the Mediterranean artistic culture. Fine work....best to you and be well my friend.

    Nice job! Turned out better than I expected. The new speed control - I bought mine 5 years ago - expensive, but even so, it remains a bargain. It puts a new dimension to your turning. Kind regards.

    ...wow...that piece is beautiful!...very impressive...
    I'm new to wood turning and am wondering...why did you decide to hollow after gluing it all together rather than hollowing before gluing on the top piece?...just trying to learn as much as possible here...

    Looks very nice Steve. That wood has some great figure.
    Your lathe looks uncommon, but stout. I have a ~2,000 hours on my 3520a Powermatic.

      Thank you Jeff. my lathe is a Chinese 550 watt and I modified it to a three phase 3hp motor with inverter

    Hello from saskatchewan, what was your finish ? I envy your wood , most of our native trees are poplar , some box elder and a bit of birch . I see some blanks in the background, how long do you season them ? My apologies if you already answered these questions in other videos, I am going to watch them tonight , have a good day

      for finish I use linseed oil and then wax with bees wax linseed oil and carnauba. I work on the blanks after 4 months or more

    Stunning piece Steve..laminating thinner pices of wood species gives a beautiful result and it's a great why to use up wood scraps. I'm also fascinated by all the tools that you make as well. I noticed you added a variable speed to the Boston lathe?. Clever👍
