  • Jeff revisits the two tragedies which put Modesto in the red-hot glare of the national media in 2001 and 2002 -- the disappearances and deaths of pregnant mother Laci Peterson and D.C. intern Chandra Levy.
    History Hunters takes a look at the Peterson house in Modesto where Scott Peterson is believed to have taken the life of his wife and unborn child, Conner.
    This video checks out the graves of Laci and Chandra but also the Stanislaus County prosecutor James Brazelton who prosecuted the Scott Peterson case.

    Hi Jeff, This story of Laci and her unborn baby Conner hits home my Dad and I built a brick hearth for Dennis Rocha, Laci's father in the 80's with Laci and her brother playing around us Dennis was never the same after this event. Whom would be? Oh my dad built the brick columns that line the front of Burwood Cemetery. RIP Laci, Connor, Dad.

      I had never thought about that until I saw this video. I agree. Laci would have possibly left Scott if she found out about Amber. She most likely would have taken back her maiden name and named Connor that way, too. Scott Peterson deserves no acknowledgement!

    I will never forget her father bent over in anguish begging for her back. Just absolutely gut wrenching watching that press conference. The despair in Laci's parents faces. Love her parents. Can not imagine what Mrs. Rocha is going through. Will never forget Laci's big beautiful smile.

    I live in Modesto and was pregnant with my oldest at the same time that the Laci was missing. I identified with the protectiveness she must have felt to protect Connor and it broke my heart. Two agonizing cases. Was riveted to each when they occurred. Thank you for telling their stories. I remember watching Scott Peterson on a channel 2 interview and when it ended the camera froze on his face before it went to the next story. I will never forget the evil in his expression in that freeze frame. It was almost like he said ok the interview is over, (very sympathetic sob story), so now my true personna is back. It gave me the chills as somehow it came through that he was a very evil person and I positively KNEW he was guilty. I told my wife this at that time (I'm signed in on her UA-cam account). When the story about the innocence project showed the other day she reminded me of that moment. Very chilling! Thanks for yet another great posting Jeff. Thoroughly enjoy your content.

    • @jbenziggy
      @jbenziggy  8 місяців тому +6

      There would definitely be a creep factor in living in a house where someone was murdered, assuming she was murdered there. He probably suffocated her while she was asleep. I cannot imagine the evilness required to take someone out like that. It's heartbreaking Scott didn't love his wife, who should have been treasured!

      @@jbenziggy I moved into a condo in 2010 where the original owner was murdered in 1992. He was a fireman who was also dealing in drugs, he was killed by one of his partners. His girlfriend was the one who found him dead in the hallway. A neighbor,who heard the screams of the girlfriend and saw the body of the fireman, told me the story. I never had any bad vibes from the place, but I am pretty sure it was haunted. I did see a figure of a man with a white mist about him. I really wanted to buy the condo when the owner put it up for sale, but we could not agree on a price.

    Excellent video on two very sad events. Just knowing that new some commuted petersons death penalty sentence makes me sick. Our installed governor does not care about any consequences he causes to people or our once great state. Thanks Jeff.

    I was living in Ceres when both these cases happened . Im pretty sure Gary Condit was living in Ceres at the time it was definitely a bad look for him and his political career. Then Laci Peterson happened , it was so sad for Stanislaus county and the world. Great video

    God, I remember both of these cases all too well-I lived in Northern California (Auburn) and news regarding the disappearance of both women were plastered all over our Sacramento NBC affiliate, KCRA. I would have lengthy conversations about the Petersen trial with my husband, who was a criminal prosecutor in the neighboring county from where we lived. Scott Petersen should have been put to death, but because of loopholes in the criminal system and discrepancies in the case, that never happened. It is one of those trials that I fear justice may never be served....

    I remember that saga with C Levy. That congressman was definitely in the wrong place and wrong time (but, shouldn't have been messing with her anyway - typical Washington). And then 9/11 hit and everyone forgot about congressman what's-his-name.

    Scott should have gotten the death penalty instead of keeping him alive in prison. The evidence was overwhelming. He planned the whole thing with no remorse. A liar.

    It's so upsetting to see they have the guilty person and then he's set free. And only 6 years for a life.!! Also he didn't even belong in this country. Did they at least deport him ?

    • @jbenziggy
      @jbenziggy  8 місяців тому +2

      They did deport him. Apparently he was convicted of a jailhouse liar's word so it could be true that the man didn't kill Chandra.
