Did he really ask how they fit that engine in? The entire idea of the Cobra is to squeeze big V8s into it, hence the 427 SuperSnake that had twin superchargers.
I have an old Cobra story...my late father was a Sales Manager at our local Ford dealer in Orlando, Fl. for several years in the 60's and I heard him tell this story many times over the years...A local dentist walks in and says he'd like to buy a 427 Cobra and requests a test drive. My Dad queries him about his driving background and describes the 289 Cobra and the 427 Cobra and suggests they go on a test drive in the 289..the dentist is firm that he wants to buy the 427 and says he wants to test drive the 427...so my Dad gets the car and they go on a spirited test drive.when they get back to the shop, the dentist is looking pretty shaken and agrees that yeah maybe l should consider and test drive the 289 after all..to which my dad announced... THAT was the 289. (I posted this because the other guy that has the top comment butchered the story. This is what it should be like 👍🏻)
That's a different car. The one in the video has yellow stripes and the one in the thumbnail does not. At 2:55, the guy's saying that there was another guy with another similar Cobra and I'm going go out on a limb here and say that the one in the thumbnail is his.
So its a Coyote, with a 2.3L Whipple, and a 250 shot of Nitrous. Holy shit. @960whp I'm guessing its probably putting down high 500-600rwhp without the Nitrous.
As an Engineer I tip my hat to the excellent Engineering...but as an old Ford guy, I'd have to go with a side oiler FE 427...when built right, 600 H.P. easy and you just can't beat the sound.
If I were in a position to seriously consider one of these calls I believe I'd like to go with an original FE block myself, of course I'm kind of partial to A 351 Cleveland and could very well go that route also.

The original AC's ran 196mph in testing so the newer replicas have no problem with 180. Yes, Backdraft Racing was founded in South Africa 2002.
Standard 427's were 164mph. Comps were 185mph. The Daytona coupe was good for 191mph, but was a totally different car.
This is my favorite car and has been for many years, probably always will be, an american muscle icon, lightweight overpowered untamed beast.
god forbid it goes too sideways one day and starts flipping. that's a very possibility and plz don't push it to that point.
What a beautiful car! WOW!
