He doesn’t tour often and that Godflesh tour in 2015 was an exception cause of how influential they are to him. In the states, he usually only plays NYC and LA once or twice a year. Also keep in mind, he also records & plays shows under Vatican Shadow & Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement.
But in a way it's also kinda like all the colors something like a mantis shrimp can see. They have more color receptors in their eyes, meaning they can see two additional colors that we can't (because all our color vision is based on red, green, and blue light). So imagine the world with two more colors worth of detail. That's kinda what noise can be like. It's sound that exists far outside the normal boundaries and yet is full of possibilities.
Yeah honestly this is a tired overused cliche reaction from generic people who are still stuck on only appreciating organic "real" instruments. With various electronic genres gaining much more recognition these days and this type of performance not being rare anymore, people need to get over their ideal of how instruments should be played. I know I shouldn't take this joke post this seriously but still.
i can't either, being that i bought a ticket for last year's detroit show. skewer justin's and dominick's management for tossing that show into the dumpster. i hope that they have shed that idiot by now.
Please can someone explain this genre of music . I don't particularly like it but would like to know what it's supposed to mean, feel express ect just for understanding
prurient in particular seems to express his hatred through his music, but sometimes he shows us some soft and beautiful melodies. but he knows what he is doing, its not just random noise, he knows how to recrete his tracks on live, a thing that many other noise musicians doesn't or just cant.
Dom keeps getting better, yet his live presence is still sloppily passionate.
dude is a legend, no joke.
I like an artist who has contempt for their audience.
in my opinion, this is one of dom’s best live performances. the atmosphere in there must’ve been majestic to even start with. 😎👍
I feel like I need a pair of ear protectors to listen to this with my headphones.
sounds crazy even with AirPods
I didn't get into noise overnight but now I'd love to see this shit live. I'm guessing he doesn't tour often :/
Saw him when he toured with Godflesh. I hated the performance style at the time, but it's definitely impressive and I can appreciate it better now.

It takes a little while to get going but when it does it is great stuff. Right up there with the best noise from the late 70's, 80's and 90's.
Oh no, it appears that man couldn't get his equipment to work and now he's losing it.

Can only imagine , impressive improvisation instigated by his involuntary rapid decent from height .

It's cathartic and chaotic and free. Don't think about it too much and you will enjoy it.
my ears hurt
I would like to see him accidentally hit his gear with one of his random fits, and sit back and see what happens.
