The only one of the Asian detective movies of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s (Charlie Chan, the other Mr. Wong movies, Mr. Moto) where the leading man was actually played by an Asian actor - Keye Luke
The guy led one heck of an amazing life. They should make a movie about him.
Isn't/wasn't he Charlie C''s number one son? Looks like him
I love that Asian American actors got to play leads so early. It’s a shame there weren’t any sequels ( that I’m aware of)
There were about 4. Boris Karov was the orig. Mr. Wong.
@@karlschulte9231 5. But yes, those were all made before this one, and each one had Boris Karloff as Mr. Wong. Also, 2 of them (if I'm not mistaken) were re-made into Charlie Chan films in the 1947 - 1949 Roland Winters era.

Great movies.
Keye Luke. being Chinese makes for a much Better Mr. James Lee Wong. Notice the same house is used in All Mr. Wong Movies.
I hadn’t seen this one, thank you. ❤😊
"The goal of archaeologists for centuries?" There were not archaeologists centuries ago. Professionally speaking, I would say no more than one century from 1940, the release of this picture.
Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much💚❤
Please pump up the VOLUME.
Did Keye Luke ever write a book about his interesting life? Just curious.
Given his repertory, I imagine it would he would have many interesting and fact-fulling memoirs.
What happened to the real Det. Wong ( Boris Karlov)?
As hokey as it is, I like it.❤
Thanks
Does anyone know where Keye Luke is buried?
Are you kidding me that Detective Street, didn't know that the film would be in that thing? He really needs to get more savvy on the crime scene, if you know what I mean.
I knew this was going to be a good movie when I saw that it was approved with certificate #6779.🙄
Sickening to see the abhorrent treatment of camels. I further refused to watch. Despicable.
If you mean the desert storm footage, it *could* be stock footage, if that's of any slight consolation; the point being, they probably didn't go out and abuse camels just for this film. This was made by Monogram Pictures, they were a cheap movie company, and so they probably just used whatever footage they could pay for without going out of their own country.
@@101Volts thank you for providing this information and your time!
True. If you watch these movies, stock footage, also reusing of soundtrack music- especially PRC.
If Detective Street doesn't stop with his sarcasm, he is going to be getting some of my own sarcasm, which I can assure you, that he isn't going to like.
